  • 2021 LC 200 owner here. Thank you for the clarification on the “Prado” name. The Prado is a real Land Cruiser 250 and one of the best off-roaders in the world. I love this vehicle.

  • I’m probably in the minority, but I absolutely LOVE the squared headlights! I think it adds to the premium look, whereas the rounded ones look retro and/cheaper. Great video, I love that truck. 👍🏽👏🏽

    • The round headlights are a big fail imo. They could have worked well, but the size/placement is just not right. They should be bigger, or the same size but moved toward the middle more.

    • I totally agree I think square looks better here & I would have thought I'd like the round more. I think round look good on some cars like a 97 E class or 911 etc, but rarely on trucks/SUV.

  • As the Landcruisers are hybrid power plants. how are towing capacity and payload impacted once the battery is depleted? If I am towing 5,000 lbs with driver and passenger onboard will the battery be depleted two hours in making the vehicle rely exclusively on the engine only?

    @chrispnw2547@chrispnw254729 күн бұрын
    • It’s a hybrid, not an plugin so the battery is never really ‘depleted’

      @chibbyylol@chibbyylol29 күн бұрын
    • @@chibbyylol They certainly can be depleted. It depends what battery chemistry is being used to an extent. Toyota typically uses cheaper less efficient nickel based batteries in their non-PHEV hybrids. These can be depleted both in respect to have no/little charge to power the electric assist. But these batteries can also fall out of thermal efficiency and overheat. This happens with heavy use. Which is possible on public roads at legal speeds. This will lead to a loss of performance and will feel less torquey. If its possible to overheat a Camry Hybrid battery not towing anything, it stands to reason a LC250 pulling a load could take the battery outside it’s efficient range. But once it cools down, regular performance would be restored. That said, even with diminished performance, it won’t impact the towing capacity. The non-hybrid model technically has a towing capacity that’s 500lbs greater than the hybrid. So the powertrain is capable of handling the mass without the e-motor’s added torque.

  • The last years of Landcruiser sales werw horrible. Toyota sold less than 4,000 per year. Not sure why all the automotive journalism is full of pass glory about this vehicle? Over the years it got very expensive and they didn't sell. So its no secret on why Toyota had to reduce the price on the new ones. Still a well equipped one is very expensive. Time will tell how well it sells. Very good and detailed review. I like the name drop of fellow KZheadrs.

  • I'm not sure why you don't have more subscribers? Other car reviews can't even stand on your little toe! They all like to talk about the door "thunk", soft touch plastics, and other B.S which is really not what consumers care about 😂 You've got class my friend and it's sad but most Americans are just cavemen which can't appreciate the way you present your videos. I know I previously said you shouldn't but perhaps you should do more videos on junk Kia/Hyundai, they are cheap and have lots of cheap tech which it seems most cavemen deem as the top property when purchasing a vehicle, not quality and reliability. In the end you get what you pay for. I don't know.... Do what you need to 😂

    • Being you brought it up . . . Funny, NONE of us like it either. However, there's a reason for it. Viewers are MUCH more likely to watch our episodes (no matter the channel) when they drop on the nose of an OEM embargo - such as the case as this one. There is a very easy way to fix that: Viewers/Subscribers watch their favorite channel within the first 24 hours after a video drops. That in turn would tell the algorithm the audience likes the video and it will recommend it to more viewers - thus replicating the 'bump' we all get on these embargoes after a manufacturer event. Instead, what happens - again, no matter the channel, most subscribers don't watch the videos that are NOT subject to an embargo and they languish - no matter the car or the channel - in relation to the normal audience size and those videos have nowhere near the ROI the embargoes see. At the end of the day, we run independent businesses and this is the nature of the beast.
