  • I am from the US and pretty much ignorant of the protocols and regs for such things, and I catch myself yelling "don't touch!!!" when I watch some of these videos. I am pretty positive that if I ever get the chance to visit I would say to the guard, "forgive my ignorance, but I want to respect you and the horse and not overstep" before taking a selfie.

    @SmyrnaApostolicMission@SmyrnaApostolicMission8 ай бұрын
    • I would ask the guard if I could take a picture with him and his horse and if I could touch his horse out of respect. I'm not sure if I'd get a response or not. I'm also from the U.S. I know I'd know I wouldn't touch a mounted police horse without asking. These horses are working.

    • Or, remember, these guys are doing a job, and you not take a selfie at all, but stand away and just take a picture. I'm sure you would be pissed if you had hundreds of people coming up to you every day while you're working just to take a selfie. It ain't Disney land.

    • I agree! I’d respect them by not taking a selfie at all! I don’t get the narcissism of humans since cell phones came around. How many pictures do you need of yourself! Be in the moment & just appreciate the gorgeous, working horse & guard.

    • @@louisejackson8770 You can take a selfie from an appropriate distance. Much further away than many I see in these videos. But I would still ask the guard, because I would never let anyone I don't know hold my phone. The guard's opinion is the only opinion I care about in this regard.

    • @@Joywldlife I usually never take sefies, but in this case I would because I never let anyone hold my phone that I do not know. That is a good way for it to get stolen. Still, like I mentioned in my answer to the other person, I would ask the guard first and do it from an appropriate distance. If the guard said "no," then no it is, end of story. The guard's opinion is the only one I care about.

Just be gentle and ask the trooper where the best place to pat his horse his, then you won't get bitten. Also do not wear perfume or cologne.
