In this history of the Incredible Hulk TV series video, I take a detailed look at the show, its actors, its comic book origins from Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, as well as fun trivia surrounding this classic Marvel Comics TV superhero television show starring Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno.
I take a look at the voices of the Hulk like Ted Cassidy and Charles Napier. We'll take a look back at the TV history of Bill Bixby in shows like My Favorite Martian and the body building career of Lou Ferrigno.
Finally, at the end, I show you a few fun technical goofs and bloopers from the Incredible Hulk TV show from the 70's and 80's.

It's too bad Big Louie's hearing problems led to him being bullied by cruel people, but at the same time, it drove him to bodybuilding, and it led to him winning the role of the Hulk. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Yeah, sometimes it takes tough times to push us to be the best we can be.
Indeed. I enjoyed Lou Ferrigno playing the Incredible Hulk.
I do remember Lou,s hearing problem.
@@maryhlad7501 I do agree with you.
@@tvcrazyman That's true 😊
I've always loved the music at the end of each episode. It's so haunting and felt like it captured David Banner's isolation and loneliness as he is constantly forced to move on. when just a few notes can convey so much emotion, that's real musical genius.
I do wish that he had gotten to reunite with other characters that he had met, besides Li Sung, and that there had been another story involving his sister and their father.
In the comics and cartoons, Banner saves Rick Jones from a gamma explosion but gets caught in the blast creating the Hulk.
After Ted Cassidy died Charles Napier did the Hulk's voice
The Incredible Hulk's wig made from Yak hair, was the same kind of hair as Peter Mayhew's Chewbacca suit. Around about the time Martin Kove was on The Incredible Hulk would have been close to when he was cast on Cagney and Lacey.
That "Fright wig" was just wild and ridiculous, in the comics Hulks hair was always short.
You know the more i learn the more i respect lou ferrigno
I loved this pilot episode infact still the best Hulk movie for me 😀👍
That is probably the best Hulk episode or movie for that matter. 😀 I never get tired of the pilot.
Same can watch over & over again 😀😀
I was born in 2004, but I had a DVD and saw some other episodes on KZhead growing up, and I loved this hulk as a kid. It always had some sort of charm to me.
In the episode Danny, after changing back from the Hulk, Banner is also seen wearing boots. Where did he get them? Plus, in other episodes, there incidents in which Banner finds shirts hanging on a clothesline, and he helps himself to one without knocking on the door to see if anyone's home, and asking if he can have it; he merely takes the shirt, and leaves ($5?) on the clothesline.
Yeah, I remember him leaving money like that. Back then superheroes had to be good role models.
@@tvcrazyman Banner, and The Fugitive both did this, and got most of the cash from odd jobs.
Too bad those shirts never wound up on EBay, would've fetched a fortune for Hulk enthusiasts.
I knew Ted Cassidy was the voice of Godzilla because his growls were the same as the Hulk.
Love learning all of this stuff. Just subscribed. I was born in 1999, As a kid in the early2000’s I use to wake up every Saturday and Sunday and binge watch the Incredible Hulk with my dad. Such a great memory I have. Because he grew up watching it. So it’s refreshing and nostalgic to watch your videos. Can’t wait to watch the rest of your content✨! I just started getting into marvel comics about 2 years ago, and I can’t stop😂
Awesome!
Love hearing the history of the hulk Lou was the hulk and always will be
I really liked The Incredible Hulk with Lou Ferrigno and he's a nice man too meet.
To, not too, Junior.
I agree a really good man
I hope you all enjoy the new video. I compiled a few of my earlier videos to create this longer more comprehensive history of the Hulk TV show.
I loved this show when I was a child. My mother was an X Ray Technologist at the hospital. One time I had to go with her while she took call and when I looked at the x ray machine I saw the word Gamma on it. So I asked Mom if she would turn into a hulk too if she got too much Gamma rays. She showed me a device on her hospital blouse and said that they know how much radiation she would get so she would not turn into a she hulk. I appreciate how she went along with me. lol
@@vanmoody That's cool.
Totally awesome video ! 😎👍
Thanks@@ericmangels4917
@@vanmoody Your Mom would've probably only turned into a She-Hulk if your Dad forgot to do the dishes or the hoovering at home. Then she'd no doubt say to him 'Don't make me angry! You wouldn't like me when I'm angry!' That's married life for you. 😀
I have always loved that line that David tells McGee don't make me angry you wouldn't like me when I'm angry.
That's a favorite of mine too.
In the 4th season episode King of the Beach, Lou Ferrigno pulled dpuble duty as The Hulk and a weightlifter named Carl Molino.
The sound of water in the pipes, when I was young, made me think of the hulk.
Ohm wow! Cool! On November 17th, 2002 I had the pleasure of interviewing Kenneth Johnson LIVE.
Awesome!
I'm so lucky to have met Stan Lee before He passed! I miss him. I never got a chance to see Bill, unfortunately. I heard He was pretty cool.
I would have loved to meet Stan Lee.
In one issue, the Green Hulk which represents Banner’s ID is fighting with a Grey incarnation of the Hulk which is Banner’s Ego, Suddenly the Grey Hulk yells out, “Hey Behind ya! Ain’t that Lou Ferigno?”
One of the greatest tv show ever!
I actually own the complete series all except 1 but 2-5
He never wanted to help someone but as soon as the cops showed up he was gone!
You forgot to mention Charles Napier was in the Blues brothers, he was one of the Good old boys band 🤣 He was so funny 😊 RIP ❤
I do remember the Incredible Hulk back in 1977 year. I was a teenager during that time.
Great editing and special!!!! Thank for your work and fun storytelling!
Thank you very much.
I thought this was a video about the Hulk TV series but I seem to be learning more about Lurch
Great video, glad I found your channel. You got a new subscriber here.
Awesome, thank you!
You forgot that Charles Napier was also the voice actor of Duke Phillips in the critic
In late 1986, Charles Napier appeared in the short run series on CBS, Outlaws. He played Wolfson Lucas one of a group of 4 Outlaws and a Sheriff (a former member of their gang who find themselves transported from 1899 to 1986. The show also featured: Rod Taylor, Richard Roundtree, William Lucking and Patrick Houser. The show was created by Nicholas Corea who also wrote, produced, and edited stories on The Incredible Hulk series and also worked on the Hulk TV movies. Outlaws was a fun series to watch but sadly didn't last long.
wonder if there was any more of the footage found with Richard Kiel as the role as Hulk
Ferrigno portraid The Incredible Hulk in an Amazing Stories episode titled Remote Control Man. In that episode were Dirk Benedict as A-Team Faceman and KITT (Knight Rider) too.
kzhead.info/sun/rdh6Z5SSsIOuoH0/bejne.html
I always thought that, but when I looked it up it had another guy listed as the Hulk and when I looked at it really close the Hulk looks skinnier in that episode of Amazing Stories. That is one of my all time favorite shows though. I loved that episode as a kid.
@@tvcrazyman you are right, the guy is Jake Steinfeld. :O
I've got a great story about Lou Ferrigno and a cocky stunt man. It's priceless!
Not too many people know that Ted Cassidy was the Uncle of David Cassidy! In fact they were going to have him play the stage security guy in The Partridge Family, but it didn't happen for some reason.
Charles Napier was also in The Blues Brothers as the Good ole Boys band Leader Tucker McElroy
Great vid 👍🏻
No it wasn’t very much like the comic books but the stories were always compelling and entertaining. The series reminded a lot of The Fugitive.
Bixby was also in Speedway with Elvis as well
Best episode? The Demi hulk starring Ric drasin.
I met Lou Ferrigno at San Diego Comic con and he gave me his business card and I shook hands with him and charges money for his book autographed and the bonus is his Incredible Hulk poster autographed.
I really enjoyed watching this series and the movies that came later. I would love it if you could do a review the 6 million dollar man
Trauma center was so good
My favorite TV series.
Just like Adam West Batman, this is how non-comic readers got into the character and made him as popular as he is today.
I will watch him 😃 them are very classic shows!
Wow just love the good old classics I have Hulk but still looking more classics for my collection 😊
Great memories thanks
i liked this show it was very good i really enjoyed it
At 31:10 the part where you were talking about the stunt woman stand in the lake you forgot to also mention how the ripples were moving IN TOWARD the person. This is physically impossible.
Love the channel keep up the good work can't wait hear more hulk stuff
Thanks
As we all know the Incredible Hulk is a takeoff of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Here's some trivia for you. Did you know Rick Springfield is Australian? Just another Australian actor that most people think is American.
Myfavorite episode was prometheus
Yep, Lou Ferrigno's a true Bew Yorker 😎🗽
Lou Ferrigno not only he spoke in one episode well as Jon Six EMT spinoff Fall Guy / Trams Center Fred Rogers talked with Bill Bixby & Lou Ferrigno on Mister Roger’s Neighborhood. Lou guest star on Matt Houston to
Great video mate.
Thanks bud!
My favourite TV series has a kid always will be my Hulk
WILFRED BAILEY BIXBY WAS A COUSIN ON MY FATHER'S SIDE, I UNFORTUNATELY DIDN'T KNOW HIM LONG BEFORE HE PAST ON, EXCEPT FOR HIS WORKS BUT ON THAT GIRL, ANDY GRIFFITH, DOBIE GILLIS, AND AN EPISODE OF HULK HE USED THE BAILEY NAME IN HIS ROLES OH YEAH AND IRONSIDE!!!GARY BAILEY KING OF DARKNESS
Lou was paid $35 Grand or $30 Grand and episode 👍🏻 great money back then for no speaking roles except for king of the Beach episode.
lou Ferrigno will also have lifted the car. but there is a difference the between the car before the transformation and after the car looks smaller and not for the size of lou
cool easter eggs
I guess the 70's hulk show had a reporter chasing him instead of the US military, because of tv budgets back them. Can you imagine how much it would cost to have the military chasing him? Probably blow the whole season's budget out the water. Unlike today where tv shows have bigger budgets and cgi.
A lot of Hollywood inflated heights, Ted Cassidy was really around 6'7" and Ferrigno was no more than 6'2". Lou is 2 inches shorter than 6'4" John Laroquette
I enjoyed the video but damn, these ads are brutal. It's like every 2 minutes I'm grabbing my remote.
I appreciate this video because iam a HULK fan but how did you go from talking about HULK to the adams family actor smh, I want to see more about HULK! And this video is all over the place not very organized.
Bill also did magic
More trivia- Amazing Stories had an episode called remote control man- hulk appears, but it isn't lou ferrigno- it's body by Jake I believe, lol. His face favors lou but his build is nowhere near Lou stature
He definitely made for a smaller Hulk.
@tvcrazyman I believe this was a beef between Steven Spielberg and Kenny Johnson- Johnson used stockfootage in a hulk episode, didn't get clearance (I think) and SS was upset- so he casted body by Jake as hulk as a way to stick it to Kenneth Johnson- i wanna say footage was in never give trucker episode
@@6ft2220beast Yeah, Spielberg was definitely angry about that episode. They took footage from his TV movie the Duel. But, I'm not sure about why they got someone else instead of Lou. It wasn't his fault. I bet there might have been a scheduling conflict. But that's just a guess. Interesting though.
@@tvcrazyman Is this the same episode where they used footage from "Superman" - as Superman was knocking over the rocks to stop the approaching floodwaters to a town from the burst damn. But they show The Hulk pushing over the rocks.
This was better than any Movie...still good now especially when he changes...they should of done a female version that would be good..in its day.
I m pretty big myself Buffed strong solid I felt inspired to become like that after watching episodes of The Incredible Hulk In it s hay day actually
The "sad man" closing titles music resembles the closing song from "rocky horror show" / "rocky horror picture show " from 1975... Conincidence?
Just once after being beat up, would have loved to see David not thrown out of sight so the people that beat him up would witness the transformation.
Yeah, it would be fun to see the expressions on their faces.
lou frigo as a kings and queens tv show series episodes and and as a tv show doctor
Cove came out as the cobra Kai sensei in karate kid (1984)
I can tell you did your homework , good job
Thanks
Richard Kehil was the first hulk
Lee majors had a cameo in clambake too
Oh cool, the same Elvis movie Bill Bixby starred in. I kept trying to think of something those two were in together
Here's a question. Is there a "missing episode". I've watched the first two episodes of the show, and the beginning of the second episode takes place a long time after what was teased at the end of the first one. I can't fight anything about this wherever I go. What happened?
Actually David Bruce banner is born Brian David banner that's who the TV hulk is about Robert Bruce banner was in the gamma blast they are father and son and marvel comics is using both banners one at a time
I like the TV series so much have the whole series on DVD the only problem I have with the history it goes off into other actors doesn't focus on the show itself ,& the movies itself
Stan lee the TRUE MASTER CREATER OF THE HULK NOT THAT OTHER JOKER 😢 WHO MADE A JOKE OF THE ORIGINAL😢
Bill Bixby on tv show That Girl
Sad one when his dad told hulk go on go
One Last thing can you do hulk father Brian banner in comic books so everbody knows
I watch tv series and comic books and animated series and practical effects animatronic hulk
Me to
I watched this
On minute 13.50 is that Diana Muldaur? And when it is from which show is it?
I believe that is Joan Lesley from what I see on Imdb
@@tvcrazyman thanks a lot. Joan has the same hairstyle as Diana in the end of the seventies.
You still haven’t talk about the Hulk villains that never appeared in the tv series, Imagine see a real life driving which would remind you of the movie Falling Down and can you do the Super Friends with the original version of the Legion of Doom known as the League of Evil.
Stan Lee a genius but who did the later hulk give it up 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 come on I cried it was that bad like the remake of nightmare on elm street
Thanks for another great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
yeah andy griffeth tv show bill bixbie
Maybe it's dumb, but nobody ever talks about The Electric Company.
I definitely remember Spider-man on the Electric Company and the comic book based on that Spider-man
tv show simond and simond and land of the lost tv show uncle jack episodes
I read somewhere that the reason they changed his name from bruce to david was because back then bruce was thought of as a gay name supposedly i personally think itd a cool name

kennenth johnson V and V the finale battle NBC tv moini series
There are 2 things that always disappointed me about the "Incredible Hulk" TV series: 1. We never got to see the She-Hulk. She deserved a better introduction than that BS "She-Hulk: Attorney At Law" show!!! 2. We never saw a team up between the Incredible Hulk and Spider-Man!!! That would've been epic for that time period!!!
Very true on both.
bill bixbie nbc as the magician tv show series episodes my Favorite Martian my favorite magician lurch on Adams family tv show and movies nararted the cbs incredible hulk and the growls and bill bixbie courship of endies father in search of houdini and tv comercials and losing weight tv comercials and with amazing Randi specials and cbs the magic of david copperfield
