  • You can tell how much lighter the cars were back then, darting around like houseflies, that's one of the main things I miss, made it look so much faster.

      @MJTbreww@MJTbreww4 жыл бұрын
    • And they looked so hard to drive, every single lap was at the absolute limit and even tiny mistakes were punished. I find it so enjoyable to watch these 2003 cars just go around the track, even without overtaking. Compare that to those ocean tankers on rails we got today and it just doesn't seem as right as it does here. I know that the racing in the 2000s was bad and that there are things that we can't/shouldn't change back. (Refuelling, safety measures, ...) But there has got to be a way to make the cars smaller, more nimble and harder to drive without compromising safety.

    • @@dez8685 - I see your point and I know it always is a matter of nostalgia. But just looking at 2000s onboards and comparing them to the current ones is a huge difference imo. I think making the cars a bit harder to drive would benefit the sport massively. These cars have too much downforce imo, we barely have any high speed corners that aren't flat-out...

      @ludwigrohrig@ludwigrohrig4 жыл бұрын
    • @@ludwigrohrig Indycar went for less downforce, harder to drive cars one or two years ago and I would say, even though racing has not always been super close, that it has been more exciting to watch. Those cars can actually race and pass on street courses.
