Here's a cool tool you can make for the lathe. You need a piece of steel bar approximately 30mm X 200mm machine it down to fit the tool holder then machine one end in a U shape but square machine another piece to fit into the U shape drill across hole to attach and drill a hole at the end of the small piece but just big enough for the ball bearing sticks out but doesn't come out in the larger piece drill a cross hole to mount a bearing and make it contact the ball bearing in front but not to tight the ball needs roll put together mount in the tool holder and your done machining a flat surface take the tool and place the ball on the surface with a little pressure and spin the part it will become very smooth and shiny it will take some practice just try it 😊😊😊

Welding on a machine that has an electric motor? How stupid can these people be!? The repair is no good either. Just machine a new axle and weld it to the end cap.
