I'm a manager at a Buick store and I'd give anything for Buick to add a 2 door car to the line up. Gotta be a v8 though!
Buick should do a Grand National again but affordable seeing as how all newer sports cars are stupid expensive
There is no such thing as a Buick anymore.. They are Holdens or some else's chassis rebadged as a Buick...
Twin Turbo V6 or Supercharged, would do too..........
Yeah but why build something that looks pretty much like a Dodge Challenger? They could do a lot better.
@@philllsxga.7737 it’s Buick go cry somewhere else where people actually give a Fuck about your hyper attention to detail
I'm an 86-year-old geezer, and I love the styling of this Skylark. Now we're getting back to the good old days of styling with modern technology. Are they going to produce them?
No.
@@lotsofhairbutnomoney3705 😥
These were renditions made by fans, not Buick unfortunately
do you remember the 1950s? were all the cars have tailfins on the road
PROBABLY NOT
That would be the best looking car on the road today if they actually produced it! I would have a hard time deciding between the blue or red, both looked sharp as hell!
That body style is absolutely perfect 😪😪😪🤌🤌🤌it would definitely be the replacement for the v8 dodge challengers 👌
I had an '85 skylark as my first car. Probably the ugliest of all, but a great car otherwise. As I got older and learned more about skylarks, I ended up falling in love with the gsx stage 1. This new rendering got me as excited as the mint stage 1 I just saw at a car show recently! Bring it on!
Love it! Make Buick cool again
Yeah, MBGA! 🎩
Amen Brother, and make they're Muscle sedan the Wildcat to compete with the Charger.
Hell yeh and bring Pontiac and Olds back, what the hell has happened to this great country of ours ? 🐾✌️🇺🇸
@@deborahchesser7375 It'd the evil Democrats is what it is.
Again?
Absolutely stunning ! It would be nice to see Buick pull out another Grand National type car & the skylark will do very nicely.
I can’t agree with you more.
Funny, I justr said the same exact thing!
Now your talking
Amen.
First car was a 66 buick skylark. That rendition incorporates the rear window wing treatment from my old car. Always loved it.
I had a 71 Skylark as a teen, absolutely loved it. I would definitely kick the tires on a new one. Looks too much like the Camaro though, which an old Buick would never be mistaken for a Camaro.
I absolutely would buy one! It’s the most exciting design of the retro movement that started with the Mustang in 05. It combines class with muscle perfectly, so yes I would buy one!
Retro movement started with the Chrysler Prowler
It's not to current Buick design language, but more toward the Charger Banshee. If it does happen 90% chance its EV
Yeah me too, if only they change the shiny plastic like paint to a matted metal black 😊
It's time to move on from the retros.
you havent heard the price yet....
I think it's a gorgeous car. They could make the base Skylark with the normally aspirated 6.2 litre V8 and the Skylark GS with the supercharged 6.2 litre V8. That would be really cool!
Oh, they will make it an EV.
@@tlbx57 no, just no
@@tlbx57 Blasphemer!
Twin turbo!
@@srobertweiser He's not a blasphemer. It's a gorgeous car, but an entertaining 'what if?' only, like all of his concept videos, with 'zero chance of being produced. It would be a at minimum $200k, so no, just no.
I had a 1969 Skylark as my first new car and loved it. Would love to own this new version
I had an 80's model Skylark & loved it! Wish I had another 1 from back in the day. This new randition looks beautiful
Would definitely be interested in this car if it went into production.
Me to if I had 100 grand to spend on a car😂🤦♂️
but it won't, boo
Man. Those mid 60’s skylarks look good!
Rearing to burn some rubber!
This would definitely be a gold standard for Buick. A must!
Yes, build this with style shown with quality and I would buy. Beautiful rendition of what Buick needs to do.
Love the mashup of classic and today's modern sleek lines. Love it in gold too and YES I would buy this . . . unless Buick is also considering the Rivera as a comeback
I wish that they would bring back the Riviera. I had a 1990 model and loved everything about it.
Sign me up for a '71 Boattail Riv tribute!
Are you crazy? A big, modern 2-door "boattail" Riviera, with a big, modern high output V8 would be the bomb.
@@robertshirley1192 Humor my craziness by making sure there's a floor shifter, dual exhaust, and a split front bumper!
@@marcuscross6840 a console stirrup style shifter.
This is frickin awesome! I wish GM and Buick would take a hint from this model, they could really have something. The sides, rear fenders and rear to me has a '68 Camaro SS type feel which I really like alot. The other Buick I would REALLY like to see come back into production would be the Buick Grand National with a twin turbo setup. Those things were mean even stock! Id love to see what they could come up with now for their design.
...their hint was cancelling Camaro...
No, it's not. It's an imposter.
If this concept succeeds, a new Riviera can't be far behind. 😛
Looks pretty nice to me! I used to have a 1970 Skylark, custom I think, if that was an available trim option, I can't remember. It was a two door ht rootbeer brown with a dark brown or black vinyl top? 350 with a 350 trans. All I did to it was put some Cragar wheels on it and some headers, it was a fun car back in the late 70's!
As long as it was made with a manual transmission, even as an option, you are absolutely right I would!! Love the 2 door style. I would say a spoiler would look pretty sweet on it also!!
There’s no benefit to 3 pedals anymore. If you want to save manuals actually buy them cash brand new from the dealer
i'm sure they would love to give owners a new clutch and flywheel under warranty....plus whatever else they can tear up 'under normal use'
Beautiful automobile. One of the best to come out of the builders in a long time, lets get it on.
That’s what I was thinking
Hi Brian, so glad you take time for this video, as the one who responsible for the design i feel blessed to have you reviewing the buick skylark render. its sad that Buick is kinda almost "Forgotten" at this point, been thinking if they could ressurect some of their muscle car line up back.. but even sadder is the fact that muscle cars today is about to be gone again.. thanks to the ev..
Wow, "kinda almost" + lots of illogical ".." after rambling thoughts. *BRILLIANCE*
F..k the "E.V.!!"🙃👎☹️
No matter how many ev's I have, there will be a place in my garage for one of those gas guzzlers, they are just awesome fun.
Where are the headlights?
I want one. I had a Genesis G70 crush until I saw this design of the Skylark. Well done!!!!!
Yes I have a 1971 ! Still rolling this new design is awesome 😎
Definitely want one! I’m feeling the blue one, looks so badass. Hope this becomes a reality!
I'd be looking at it for sure!!damn nice looking and vette suspension and power could really be cool
I'd buy one in an instant. Keep the V8s coming!
It has a combo of classic and modern look. Very classy 👌
Back in the day, I had a '69 GS. I LOVED that crease down the side and repainted it a shade darker to look shallower. That gold variant does the same thing by making the top half rough looking and the bottom smooth. Bravo! I would buy one the day it came into the dealership.
Had a New 1968 GS 400 Convertible , Yes a real good car ! ! !
'68 skylarks were good-looking cars- my mom had a ragtop stage 1 and we got a grip for it. that car would be worth a LOT nowadays- but the guy totaled it.
Looks hot! The front bumper a little less aggressive and definitely a V-8! The design also reminds me of a 1965 Buick Riviera GS Super Wildcat I have had. 😎
Yeah thats hard af. Thats brings it back to what the early 70s skylark was.
Bro, that’s a badass car hell yeah I’ll buy one
I had a 1970 skylark custom, not a GS but 350 4 barrel turbohydromatic which was powerful enough. Sure would buy new one if possible.
I had a 1989 Skylark 2 door with white canvas top, it was reliable and a smooth ride
Got my CDL in a 1967 Buick Skylark. 300v8 2 barrel carb 2 speed transmission power brakes power steering. Blue car blue interior White hard top. Super nice fun car to drive.
Even with the turbo 3.8l V6 it would be a collector's item right off the bat I would love to see the Grand Prix return as well
Depends on how much they ask for one. They do need a convertible version of the car.
150k
@@cavitycreep -- HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAAA
I'll pay that for the convertible! She is a beauty to behold. However, I would spend that on an antique with a carburetor before I would a computerized remake.
Gorgeous! My first car was a 1971 Buick Skylark White Top and Burgundy Body. Would definitely purchase!
My Grandpa had a '67 Skylark, and it was awesome. He would step on the gas and it would throw you back into the seat. I miss that car, and my grandpa too.
Yes, I would absolutely buy one, without a doubt. The renditions do remind me a bit of old school Pontiac as well. I also don't usually care for cars painted gold but this one was on point. Awesome job by this designer.
It's got Larger metallic flakes in the paint. Looks fantastic.
@@geiser1958 Yeah, it's awesome. Some day..... hopefully.
That is 1 great looking ride. I would buy one sure.
Correction: You are So clear and Concise ...Great Job...
I had a 69 Buick Skylark in 1974 with the 400 cubic in. and a auto on the floor. Loved that car. It had so much power and so much room. Wonderful make out vehicle at the drive-in.
"is that you or the shifter??"
The swooping crease from the front clip to the base of the rear wheel is reminiscent of the 1968 Skylark Custom I had, it was a convertible with a 350 in it. That car was very nice. I miss the times when the GM brands had enough variety, now they are more cookie cutter. This looks like it based on the Camaro platform, the front clip and fenders are to busy.
My homie had a Skylark convertible too. It was very nice. I called it the Larkness monster!
I wished the grill was like the seventies but a more compact and more like a shelf having a classy sexy look the back end is little too boxy like the camaro I was not a fan of 69 buick make the side crease go a cross more straight but not exactly straight change the front air damage with a aluminum with an old fashioned chrome bumper.
That is an amazing looking car! I'd like to see them do a redesign like this for the Monte Carlo. Maybe a throwback to the 73 - 77 models.
NO you didn't say that.......
@@papo1515 But oh yes I did,,,!
@@robertray6021 My mom had a '73 Monte Carlo when I was in high school, man what a car.
@@papo1515 I had one too. A rare one with the moon roof. I loved that car.
the early ones looked better- IMHO
I currently own a 69 Skylark GS. If they produced this car for real, it would definitely have some new company in the garage!
I had a 64 Skylark and boy was it fast and fun...in the 70's!
Buick has a small convertible that has astonishing styling. If it was badged as an Alpha the magazines would have gone crazy.
As a car guy, I think it's gorgeous! Whether or not I'd buy one, would depend on a 'spirited' test drive. 😁
Definitely!!! An I agree with you on the rounded wheel wells, an the new, others design (gold one) pulled it off! An I as well seen the tail pipes an immediately thought Corvette motor!!!! Well done!!!
Very beautiful, finally a remake that looks amazing.
A lot of people would buy one! Unfortunately GM won't build and I would drive this Skylark GSX in that Inca gold with black Carbon fiber roof with 6.2 V8 making over 510 hp to the rear wheels would be awesome if it ever happened! For now we dream the what ifs!
I really like this, especially if it’s ICE. I wouldn’t be completely opposed to seeing it in EV form either, if it’s pumping >500hp, AWD, & has great range.
oh, yeah- that sounds affordable
@@tommurphy4307 it’s not going to be “affordable” either way
Ohhh Hell Yeah! So Im nearly 70, TOTAL Muscle Car chick, and never a Buick fan, til THIS. WOW. Love it! Yes, Id buy this in a heartbeat... and although Ive never liked ANY car in gold - Ive always thought painting a car gold was stupid looking, trying to be pretentious, and looks tacky, - THIS IS THE FIRST CAR EVER THAT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS BORN TO BE GOLD! Its just the right design and shape and low carriage to look Amazing in gold. Looks dipped! Lol. Second choice white, and third, I love the blue. Funny, being a 70s muscle car afectionado, Ive always been partial to black on black, but this design is built for color & style. Graceful. Love it. Sign me up!
Absolutely roll them joints out on that assembly line! Can't miss😍🤩🥰
I would love to see the Buick Regal Grand National 3.6 V6 twin turbo, maybe in an 'all-wheel drive' setup
That looks really nice!!! I'd buy one. The gold one is on point! Amazing!!
😍😍wow!!!! Just WOW!!! 👍
Buy one? Hell ya! Great job designing and building the car. We know it will never ever happen but it sure as hell looks great!
Yeah I would, especially if they used the 6.2 Corvette engine! That looks incredible!
I had a 72 Buick Gran Sport. Smooth ride.
Is this the final styling and when is it available?
That's an awesome looking car, I would buy one.
Me too, Cary. Since it'll never be made TO buy, it won't cost either of us a cent! If it were (it won't), we'd be looking at $160k. Let that sink in. Yeah, no thank you.
Oh yeah!!! I would buy one for sure! It's gorgeous!!! Especially if it had a great engine to move it along!!!
Wow. Love that design❤
It'd be really neat if car manufacturers brought back all of the classics from the past but kept the styling the same while making them safter for todays roads by adding crumples zones, etc. I'm talking Skylark, Nova, RoadRunner, 3100, GTX, Galaxie, Trans-Am, Comet, C/K, D100, Ford F100, Chevrolet Fleetline, El Camino, Ford Deluxe, Dodge Charger. Every vehicle from the 30s through the late 80s.
The Grand National is the one vehicle the only vehicle I want to see Buick bring back for a limited edition run of two years.
Could not agree more Brian really enjoyed the video. The tires are def retro and look awesome.
I enjoyed the video too, but that's as close as we're ever going to see this car Mike, and I think we both know it; just like all of Brian's teasing concept cars never to be produced.
YES!! I'd buy one if it had the Vette engine or BIG POWER!!! A 6 speed would be a nice option!!!
My first Car was a 1970 Gold Skylark. I loved that car it was so smart and sharp. My dad signed for it as I was 3 weeks from my 18th B-Day. I had the car until after I got married. Eventually the rust got her and my wife was like she's gotta go so, I sold the Car for 150 in 1983 to a guy who only had 1 question would it get him to Memphis. I replied yes and I knew it would so he bought it and we saw it one day on the streets of Kankakee, Illinois and that was it. Would I buy this car? Well, TAKE MY MONEY NOW!!!!!!!
Finally , the Hellcat we needed thanks Buick
Love it! Where do I send my deposit? Love the blue one. ALL colors look great on this car. Amazing!!! Hats off to the designer. Great job!
Yes I'd buy one Problem is GM will Never build one And if it's special build. Only the rich will be able to afford it
Yes I would mist definitely. I just can’t decide on blue or red or green color
Yes, I would buy one. The stance and look are stunning.
It's beautiful, I love the homage to my favorite generation of Skylark. I agree 100% with your choice of engine.
Wow! By far the best design I've seen since the late 60's to early 70's with regard to the muscle car era.
It’s about time GM designed something worth buying!!!!
1966 buick wildcat rear clip, 1970 buick wildcat front clip, 18x8 inch buick regal rims-245/55r18 tire, buick wildcat red wheel inser with chrome wildcat, 1966 buick wildcat interior- bucket seats, red vinyl car top, 1966 buick wildcat hood spear and ornament, buick wildcat front fender tribute emblems, buick logo grille emblem, 1966 buick hood lettering, dual 2and1/2 inch exhaust, buick 330 engine, 8 speed (BOP) transmission, 3 inch driveshaft. NOTE: THESE VEHICLES ARE FOR GUEST PURCHASE.
Hell yes, especially if it came as a GS 6.2. Rear wheel drive only.
Optional all wheel drive . Let's face it If you wanna be able to use all the horses under the hood and hook up all the way down track them horses need 4 legs
That's a sharp design from all angles. Looks like a 1st generation camaro in many ways
You are right about that. The camaro
I'd buy one for sure!
YES! Bought a new 1985 Skylark, would decisively, unhesitantly buy again. 85 not the best looking model, but certainly long lasting, 12 years later, a good looking, great running 200k mile car.

Let's make the car....now love it buick.
They need to bring back the 1974 Chevy Impala 2 Door Custom Coupe.
First Old School I've seen that just mite Look Better than Original 😳 Sweet!!!
Simple answer is yes I would. In that color. Nice looking ride.
Yes!
HELL YEAH I WOULD BUY ONE ! 😎 NOW LET'S DO A REGAL GRAND NATIONAL ! ALSO IT LOOKS LIKE IT COULD BE A DODGE CHARGER OR A PLYMOUTH ROAD RUNNER ! 😎 😎
Gorgeous
Absolutely....Buck has hit a home run...❤❤
Seems like this car could be a win for Buick. This was a great idea for the company I believe.
No, tired of companies using old brand names that made cars successful. Try to think of something new. People today can not even do that.
Feel free to create something brand new and exciting that the public would be willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars on. I know I cant.
The American public spoke with their wallets and now all we get from Ford and GM are SUVs and pickups. None of which I want because I like cars that are fun to drive. Most if not all vehicles from the past 20 years have no character or soul. The designs are uninspired and bland. Yet the buying public is still buying. Worse yet no manual transmissions. Literally everywhere else in the world but America one can get almost anything with a manual. Personally I would love a 20k $ car that is all motor, weighs under 3k pounds that can handle like on rails. Not the bloated shit out there now. Considering one cannot even get a used vehicle for 20k now obviously this ain't going to happen
I disagree, Buick should be able to draw on thier history. Skylark is a beautiful name imo.
@@imperialfett7427 Not quite. The government legislated the kind of cars that most Americans wanted and still want beginning in the 70s out of existence. It did so to appease the communists who were at the time disguised as tree huggers to destroy America considering automobile manufacturing was a large percentage of GDP. Regardless of how the corrupt mainstream media tries to rewrite history, most Americans want a vehicle that is large, safe and powered by a V8 as long as gas prices are reasonable like they were about 2 1/2 years ago. This is the main reason for the popularity of pick up trucks and SUVs is because this is the only form that checks all the boxes that are sold today. As much as the car collectors bitch about the malaise era cars, they were indeed the last of their breed that offered what people really wanted in a car. Yes they were underpowered but they were much better than what followed them. Remember in the mid to late 80s when all domestic cars became cheap copies of Japanese FWD commuter pods. It was no real coincidence it was during this time the Japanese cars caught up with and eventually overtook the domestic market. Their commuter pods were better than ours. This video is wishful thinking. If the present communist regime has its way there will be no gasoline powered cars being produced or sold in the USA by 2035. The big 3 have already begun planning for this. If it gets reversed, the domestic big 3 will either need another monumental bailout or they will fold. Either way we are screwed.
Looks good. I'd like to know more about engine, performance and shifting options. Yes I'd buy 1
Hell yes!!
Paused at 0:16 Yes, I would always buy a Buick. When I was a kid (12-13), my mom had a Buick LeSabre. That car was bad ass.
That is badass;all wheel drive would be amazing 😁
Awesome design! Outstanding! Imagine the Olds 442. I would love to see it in this same body style.
Two words to answer your question...HELL YES! That car is beautiful!
yes I'd buy a new Skylark its a name plate sentimental to me as my late maternal grandmother drove a 4 door limited sedan for about 2 yrs. when I was very young either outfitted with the 2.5 l 4 Cylinder Iron Duke or a 3.3 l V6
My First car was a 71 Skylark with bronze paint and a white top as well as having all three pillars in a 2 door model. I'm in for a new version.
Looks so fire 🔥
Yes, I would!!!
I guess I like the original one and 64 65, the rendering I originally wondered about the angle of the fender , how it dives in but then the more I looked at it the more I like the aggressive look of it.
