Hey all, its that time of year again for me to get ready for our local farm show. This year I wanted to dig out one of our engines that hasn't been out for many moons. Can I get it out in time? Does it even still run? Watch the video and find out!!!

  • I have one major question. When under a load, will these hit/miss engines maintain a constant RPM?

    @herbthompson9530@herbthompson95302 ай бұрын
    • Yes they do. Instead of firing every few rotations, when they are under a load they fire on every rotation. This is what keeps the speed constant.

  • We found an old engine exactly like this one out in the woods near our house which used to be a very old farm. My father brought it up to the house to tinker with it and called it a: "one-lunger." This was over 60 years ago, so it wasn't old enough to be considered an "antique," but old enough to not be worth the effort to fix it up and running. It sat out behind the house until I left for college in 1971. What happened to it after that, I don't know, but it's great to see what it might have looked like in a rescued condition. Thanks!
