It's a treasure to see a 37 minute runtime with Jerry Miculek on a "10 minute talk".
Jerry is a national treasure. Excellent shooter, humble guy.
We are so lucky that Jerry lives in a time like now with the internet. Can you imagine Ed McGivern or Bob Munden on Vortex Nation? With one of the greatest shooters ever, Jerry Miculek, you don’t have to imagine it. 40 minutes of wisdom, right here for free.
Wow, great questions too from the hosts, clearly experienced shooters themselves.

I agree 100%. The internet has brought a plethora of bad but it’s brought ALLOT more good! This man 100% could be charging ALLOT of $$$ for his wisdom and experience just like “Hickok45” but here we are getting it for free. 🙏🙏
❤
As a professional trainer I typically don’t pay much attention to all the internet gun “wisdom” but Jerry NEVER disappoints. I ALWAYS learn something new when watching or listening to this titan of our sport.
Jerry is the oracle of all things shooting. If he's shot a million rounds, that's likely an understatement. Unrestricted respect for his accomplishment and his wisdom.
I can't get enough of listening to these types of podcasts. Great follow-up to the "I bought a pistol, now what" that's referred to in this one. Having access to the wisdom and knowledge of masters like Jerry is gold!
Thanks so much for tuning in! Jerry is always a pleasure to have on the podcast - a wealth of knowledge!
36:46 "It's nothing two million rounds won't overcome." LOLOL!!! Classic Jerry!
"I always look at people better than me and try that" Jerry is so humble and wholesome
Wow... elbows to the side and not under.... that one tip changes my whole game. Jerry was an amazing man.
I remember standing at a gun counter hearing stories about Jerry’s greatness. It’s been amazing to have been able to hear him break everything down in his own words because of his willingness to be on KZhead. What a time to be alive
Jerry is the man, had the privilege to shoot a match with him over 2 days. He 100% lives up to the hype as a person. The best part was hanging out hearing the stories of cool matches and world shoots over the years in crazy places.
An off-topic observation: The young man on the left is wearing an Omega Speedmaster Professional wristwatch. Except for a few internal parts, it's identical to the first wristwatch worn on the moon when Buzz Aldrin stepped off the ladder. Neil Armstrong also had one but left his hanging on the LM's instrument panel to use it's chronograph function for timing checkpoints. I got one as a BD gift a few days after the moon landing. It still runs like it was made yesterday. I love handguns too.
Took some time to clean my handguns this morning and had this show up in my feed. Watched it, took some notes, hit the range, shot my best in months. Jerry is a treasure.
Jerry you're a wonderful example of a human being. Not egotistical, not condicending, repeating record breaking human machine. Kind enough, incredibly knowledgeable, skilled and patient enough to pass it on to give every person a opportunity to be better and of course fast. Thank you Jerry sir, GOD bless you and your family good sir as well as the host's.
Good Stuff Jerry is a GOAT!
Jerry is an absolute legend with a pistol in hand. And seems like a really good guy as well.
The Man of Wisdom dropping Wisdom Bombs. Great job folks. Vortex vids are much better when the gentleman at the front left listens much more than he talks.
I hope these young men realize they where in the presence of one of the world's greatest men.
At 71 I’m still learning. Thanks Jerry!!
I have many interests and I have tried to keep the lesson my grandfather passed on to me in mind every day, always try to learn something new everyday. I have never had anyone in 60 plus years communicate in any manner that compares with this gentleman.
Thanks for this interview with the GOAT. Anyone who is just discovering Jerry Miculek. I strongly recommend you listen to every single word. I’m a professional trainer with years of experience and I’m still on the edge of my seat when he speaks.
I am soo mad this went 20 minutes over :) I could listen to Jerry all day!
Same!
👍🏻😅😎
Wisdom of experience shared so freely by Jerry, Thank you sir.
Love Jerry. Every time I watch him explain shooting techniques. I pick up a little more . Best 10 minutes of my life. I'm no longer Disgusted with my Shot group. It is amazing at how far I have come in a short period of time.
Jerry gun safety discipline is the best i done seen , even wit a empty mag . High level .
I love jerry man . Real Elder , wit Wisdom .
Jerry is amazing. His wisdom and experience can teach most any level shooter how to get better and stay that way. Learning trigger control with a DA revolver is one of the best tips there is. Many years ago I started with 1911’s and became a bit “spoiled” with the triggers in them. After running a DA wheelgun for a while I realized what true trigger control and trigger timing was all about. This subsequently carried over to the 1911’s, rifles and shotguns and took my proficiency to a whole new level. This man’s view is not only science but teaches the art of the shooting sports. Guys like him and Rob Leatham can advance all of us if listened to and learned from. Thanks for having Jerry on.
How humble is he that he picked up a technique from a Filipino woman at a competition. He's looking to improve his game by watching and learning from others. He doesn't think he's the end all be all of the shooting world.
jerry is so chill and wise, what a guy
I love this video, I've probably watched it 3-4 times now since release (mainly due to algorithm auto-play), and not only have I learned from it, but something new every time. The information Jerry is providing has layers of lessons baked into it, you can just keep learning from his knowledge over and over, as I would imagine you can with lessons taught from anyone who has become a master of their craft. This video is definitely going on my favorites list.
Thank you for putting Mr. Miculek on the screen for us. Anytime he wants to talk, especially about shooting, I want to listen. Again, thank you.
I'm a new subscriber, and I know this is late to the game but, Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I've been an active recreational shooter for 30 years, and Jerry's explanation was like taking the RED pill. I've never had someone break down how your mindset and training are one, quite like that. You are truly a gifted man Jerry and thank you for sharing your knowledge. Great podcast guys, I'm looking forward to more great content like this.
Thank you for running longer than 10 minutes. It is a pleasure listening to your questions, and Jerry's answers. I have learned alot from this channel, and have been entertained. Thanks.
Jerry is a national treasure. Thanks fot sharing this. He gives so many gems of amazing info
One of the things I've observed in this discussion is there's many more things happening in a shooting event than the brain chooses to focus on. Training the mind to focus on the relevant things and tune out the irrelevant is the most difficult part of discipline, because it's often a focus that is not natural.
I love this man. In these past 20+ minutes, I learned how much of what I had been taught was just wrong AND that I have absolutely the wrong gun for me. Looking for more of Jerry's videos.
Excellent discussion, information from Jerry, thank you. Also the interviewers were very adept in catching "in-house" terms/acroynms & having them explained so that no one would missing the intended message. Best interview I have had the priviledge of listening in many years. Thank you all!
I could listen to Jerry all day as well. Super knowledgeable and always interesting.
This man is a national treasure!
My 3rd time watching this from start to finish and I have picked up something new every time. The adrenaline rush/dump is 💰 Embrace the Dragon 🙌🏼😂🙌🏼
Jerry is a national treasure!!
Thank you for having him on!!
It would be nice to hear Mr Miculek talk! He is the expert!!!
Jerry's the coolest.
I love his talks he does like this. He gives us knowledge of his many shots of experience. He’s one of the best mentors you could have 👍👏
awesome.."slap it up it doesn't noodle" the best
Lot of expertise and knowledge in this video. He dropped a lot of gems.
I can never get enough of jerry.
Loved every minute of this.
J.M. is the best. Great wisdom from a humble man that supercedes expectations. A true marksman. Thanx!
Great interview, I've been a fan of that man for many years. Thanks.
This was excellent and thank you for not trying to cut it short!
Great show fellas, I learned a lot. Im excited to go put it to use with live rounds.
Great video. I'll be going back, and watching this video, many times. Thank you for the extended time, it made a "Huge" difference. 10 minutes wouldn't have been close to speaking with Jerry.
Thanks Jerry. Always learn from you 👊🏻
Learned more here than anywhere else. You’ll covered from A-Z perfectly.
Good Lord the wisdom is next level.
Amazing video.. very informal and what a guy to get all the practical information from.
Excellent!! Thanks for a fantastic episode guys!! 👏🏻👏🏻
I Watched this a few times there is so much great info here. Thanks guys
This is the kind of wisdom and knowledge i needed today and for the rest of my life....
Awesome 😎 information from a lifetime of experience and skill!
I wouldn't know how to stop asking questions either! There are some great drills to help you gain "muscle memory" to get past that shot anticipation. 10 to the 1 is primo, imo. I appreciate the distinctions Jerry made between speed, target and defensive shooting. He's Gold 💛🔥💛 Retired LEO now civilian trainer using those experiences to move the ball forward for the law abiding. Marksmanship, pistol craft is a journey.
Beautiful thank you Jerry and guys!
What a treat! Jerry is among other things, a born teacher.
this the same mindedness that i learned working kitchen my whole life there a million ways to do the same thing no one way is the best way to do something ive learned time saving techs from old heads ive worked alongside young "pros" fresh out school this a G paying attention to whats going on and willing to learn is what keeps him relevant and still keeps him top tier the amount of people ive worked with that swear their way is the only way also the best way always work 2x as hard
Dude Jerry seems like a flat out good guy man! Awesome talk fellas!
I'd watch hours of this. Awesome episode guys! Big
Thanks for tuning in!
Loved it ,very informative. Archived it.
That was awesome... very informative... 👍👍 hope you have on again and again..
Jerry Miculek is world class!!!
I love his description of how the adrenaline rush eventually becomes a gift. After several years of competitive shooting for the USAMU, I finally got to that point when I could use that energy in certain matches. Especially, Infantry Trophy (IT) matches (on left or right swing position) and in long rang coached pair fire as number one or two shooter. We had to call our shots honestly and accurately (pair fire) and shoot fast ( IT and Long Range team fire). Oh God-I can feel the rush right now after 30 years. Thanks Jerry.
Thank you Mr. Miculek.
Excellent video!! I would care if it was 1hr long. Jerry is the man!! Legendary! Thank you for making this video, I have learned things need to change.
Always a treat to listen to the man.
Agreed!
I have bypassed this video on several occasions because another seemed more appealing. Finally I decided to take a moment to watch. Very glad I did , I am sure I will review it couple more times as well. This ability to re-watch a how-to, is one advantage to attending a class in person . Though the hands on training an instructor offers is important, for many reasons. We have alot in life to remember, like watching mystery a movie again , you just see so many clues that you missed the 1st time. Thanks for going beyond the 10 guys, time flies when it's fun or interesting. Definitely some good stuff.👍...........👉💥💨-🎯
What an incredible video. Such a wealth of information
Really enjoyed the video I like listening to he has a lot of good information
Awesome, Jerry, guys!
Great information. Love Jerry 👍👍
Thank you Jerry for the great knowledge 🧠👌🏼
Good lesson free of charge.
Go to sleep? I could listen to Jerry teach for hours! Get some!
He drops knowledge as fast as his split times! At point blank range.
Jerry is a guy we can all look up to !
Probably the best shooting video made. AND what made it great was that Jerry told us what we needed to know and not so much much answers to the questions asked. There is so much In formation in this video that people do not know at all and hence the question producing that information is never asked. Commentators were smart enough to trust Jerry to.provide information shooters would never otherwise hear.Consiser this:Jerry might ve a better teacher than he is a shooter, a world champion
Glad to hear many things from Jerry what I teach my students. IMHO a good shooter is only a good trigger operator. A well-treated weapon will do the rest. Chapeau bas Mr Miculek. Those more than three quarters passed like five minutes. I don't even know when my tea got cold. THX!
Thanks Jerry you’re the best
He’s a legend, I wish I could pack my brain with everything he knows about shooting…😂 I think the main thing is he doesn’t get discouraged and he knows everything is happening for a reason and then he starts breaking it down in his mind and figuring out a better way to make the pistol do what he wants it to do…💪🏼🇺🇸 When I started out shooting a pistol I tried to over think the hell out of it… You just can’t be thinking about a million things when you’re shooting a pistol with a short barrel…😂 The best bet is if you’ve figured out what you’re doing wrong, try to fix it. Try one thing at a time and eventually you’ll figure out a way to solve the problem. I told myself I was a horrible shot with a pistol when I started shooting and I didn’t let myself down, I was a horrible shot…😆 I’m still no Jerry Miculek but I’m getting better everyday. Lmao
Very great points from an epic shootist/expert.
What a humble guy, " don't go to sleep on me", you gotta respect that, thanks guys 👍👍👍
Fantastic interview 🇺🇸🇺🇸
That guy is a legend
Man this guy is great.
Some of the best info on actual adrenaline control, which comes by re-exposure!! Hunting is the best way to learn it because sports isn't the same!!
what a great video thank you guys so much

You’re the best Jerry, the best 👍👍❤️
