Thanks, I always do, no time wasting
Thanks bro you gave me a great idea, I have an engine that I pulled out of my car and removed the intake manifold, I'm in a desert region in Southern Arizona so there's light debris and maybe light surface rust from moisture, I stored it outside for 2 years and ready to put it back in but wasn't sure about the best way to clean the valves and valve ports, thank you for this helpful information
Glad I could help man, I like Arizona ✌️🇺🇸
Do that often enough the engine should last forever!
Yes, for sure, I can feel so much power now

Excellent experimentation and presentation, thanks.

I ended up trying to clean carbon off the intake valves on my 74 MGB and had minimal success with any trick until I ended up trying a can of Liqui Moly valve clean. I soaked the valves overnight with the head at an angle and the next day it flaked off like it was dandruff. Liqui Moly valve clean is the best product I tried yet, and it works best in the gas tank. Use it occasionally and your valves and pistons will remain carbon free.
What??😂
Liquid Moly is almost magical
You know what's sad you are the only person on KZhead that I found so far that point out that engine degreaser's the best degreaser it's better than all that other stuff they're talking about and honestly I think if it let it silk long enough you don't need to brush it at all engine degreasers that good that drove strip the numbers off your microwave door
I do that to my Peugeot 107(211km) with positively result! Thank you Alimech!
You're welcome! That's awesome, thanks for watching
Diesel? The 1.0L petrol engine isn't direct injection.
I need to do this on my mazdaspeed 3. But I don't have any of the tools but this looks like it works well. I'll give it a shot before I go and get a media blaster. And deff +1 on making sure the valves you're cleaning are TDC.
what year is your mazda? i got a 05 maz 3 right now its idling bad its shifting bad too i was told the tcm and silenoid B is bad.
Cheap harbor freight walnut blasters along with my small air compressor works perfect every time. From tear down to back up and running again only takes me about 3 hours. Using walnuts to blast carbon creates perfectly clean, brand new looking valve stems and cylinder head. Plus you don't get the gunky mess you get with chemical cleaning.
Can you explain how to do it and what all I would need to buy please? I would appreciate it
@@acogjefe4769First of all, you will need an air compressor the larger the better, but small ones do work. You will just have to wait longer for air to build up. Then you need to buy a “media blaster” it should look like a five gallon bucket or a metal tank. For the abrasive material you will be using crushed walnut shells, they usually come in 50lb bags. I recommend some way to shoot the walnut and use a shop vac to pull away the waste at the same time. Much less work compared to cleaning up after blasting.
@@Rayden440 i appreciate you so much!
@@Rayden440 could you please explain how to make sure my valves are closed?
@@acogjefe4769 I can think of a few methods: 1. The simplest method is to just look at it, it’s pretty obvious which valves are open or close since you already have the intake off. They sell stuff like those snaking inspection cameras if your intake is toward the firewall. Or you can use light and mirror. 2. The second way is to take off the valve cover and look at the rocker arm and springs. The ones being compressed is the valve being opened. I won’t recommend this method because you will likely need to replace gasket, and may cause an oil leak from the head cover later down the road. 3. This final method is the most advanced. You take out the spark plugs and put a straight rod into the spark plug hole. It should be long enough to reach the piston even at bottom dead center. If you know the firing order of your engine, you can look for the compression stroke (that’s when all valves should be closed) by watching the rods go up and down. Remember to turn the engine over by hand and don’t use the starter.
Really good job and amazing results. Unfortunately it's necessary for a most of new engines with direct fuel injection (gasoline). Sometimes it mandatory for diesel due to EGR works. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and I wish you all the best in New Year.
Great point! Thanks for watching and merry Christmas
EGR isn't that big of an issue, a leaky PCV valve + egr fumes is what creates the big deposits.
@@em4703 Yes I think your correct, I thinking of using a oil catch can coming out of PCV

Hello, you have closed the first valve, maybe the first and fourth are closed, and the second and third remain open. Shall we repeat once again closing the second and third valves, or not? If this cleaner is not available with wd40, can I use Ice Diclo instead? Greetings
Nice work! 👍🏻
Thanks for watching
what's the real impact of carbon removal on performance / compression / other ? from my side the only important part that should be clean is valve seat that cannot really be cleaned that way. is there any risk of damaging cylinders wall with introdution of lot of "shit" in the combustion chamber or do you manually rotate the engine to close valve beafore cleaning ?
You are the best!
Thanks
Absolutely brilliant 😁 I will try brother but I have a 2007 Toyota Prius hybrid Will need to take out

Is this cleaners are safe in the engine and valves seals? How can i change the valve from open to closed position?
@@AliMECH you're welcome. You to. God bless you.
very good, here in Brazil we use alcohol fuel in flex-fuel cars, with two alcohol tanks the effect is very good, both for intake and exhaust.
Mesmo pra injecao direta? Em compensacao a bomba de alta ta indo embora mais cedo ne
Fuel doesn't pass by the intake valves in direct-injection engines
@@SirUncleCid correct! the only thing that can help to avoid this is reduce oil change interval.
I use "Mr. Muscle" oven cleaner. I use it for this application and turbo vanes. Messy but very effective. Being careful not to wash too brake cleaner down the bores. Always use air blower to ensure no fluids are left in the head and replace the engine oil.
Great video, thanks!
Glad you liked it!

A sand blaster from HarborFreight is like 10 bucks, some fine walnut media is like 25 bucks also from HarborFreight so for 40 bucks you can do it the way professionals do it and it is so much faster when you do walnut blasting then using chemicals and a brush. To top it off in the long run it’s cheaper using walnut you can do probably 20 four cylinder engines with the one box of walnut, when using chemicals it’s way more expensive plus it takes longer. Also some chemicals can swell the valve seals which will cause the valve seals to start leaking, obviously the chemicals aren’t in direct contact with the valve seals but you are using compressed air and the chemicals are on the valve stem so some will work it’s way up the stem. Anyways if you clean the valves up nice all you need to do to keep them clean is use a cleaner every 15k miles or once a year you want a chemical that sprays a light mist through the intake over a good 30-45 minutes I have a pressurized fuel injection kit that runs off compressed air and I have an attachment that sprays a very fine mist it’s so fine it’s almost like a fog and it run it before the throttle body I run it at a lowest pressure I can to where it’s still a very nice mist so it lasts as long as possible usually 30 mins or more and if u use a quality chemical it will clean the carbon deposits off the intake valve and the intake runner, if u do this every 15k or every year after the valves are clean it will keep them clean so u don’t need to do pull the intake to clean the valves. You can actually buy a pressurized fuel injection cleaning kit that comes with the same mist attachment that I’m talking about for 50-100 bucks on eBay. The kit I have is much more expensive but I use it every day and I’m sure the cheap ebay kit will work just fine for someone to use at home. If u have direct injection buy one of the kits and keep ur valves clean before you have a problem.
Even if you use the walnut blaster, you still need the chemicals.
Good video and information 👍👍
Thanks 👍
Tell me sir oil catch can is safe or not some people is say's engine damage oil catch can tell me plz
Ballin! I wish you would have done some diagnostics or did an average of mpg per tank. I bet that helped a lot more than just head performance
I didnt do that, but I feel so much engine power than before

How to turn the engine with a started to close the valves? Should we disconnect fuel pump and remove plugs or coils?
What about contact surface that’s what matters the most keeps them seated right.
How do we know which cylinder is in open position and which one is in close position after we remove the intake manifold? 2018 Corolla LE.
You have to look at the intake holes, the open ones will be with intake valve down
Good job
Thanks
Very good job
Thank you! Cheers!
Some people use ac delco foam for cleaning and that cause engine problem...there is a new material for this from bluechem group...called k1 and k2
I seen some foam products, but don't know how good they clean, u have to try it my self, but this method worked well
does the type of metal of the engine head determine which chemicals you can use? Also do you think that engine decarbonisation does a similar thing, I know there is no physical contact there only a chemical reaction (I'm also gonna check and see if this is explained the other vid you linked with no contact cleaning)
yes it does, some cleaners will literally eat away aluminum blocks if not completely cleaned off with water
Great video. But I’m wondering, obviously one of the cylinders is going to be in the intake stroke and the intake valve will be open. All that cleaner is going to go inside the cylinder. How did you manage that so the car will start again since the cylinder may have a lot cleaner in it? Thanks.
You can turn over the engine by hand so both valves are closed, if your that worried about it you can just remove the spark plugs/ heater plugs, when you turn the engine over any debri/fluid will eject from there.
Thanks. What mileage was your car when you provided that procedure???
120k
My friend had a intake valve carbon buildup in his v6 ranger , Ford couldn't find out why yhe engine was bucking, took it to an old mechanic who made him run his engine until it was hot , he then proceeded to pour ice cold water in the intake with the engine at high rpms, it literally destroyed the carbon build up and it ran like new afterwards
You add water inside with open valves?

How to know that which cylinder is closed
wow..i must try
✌️
Non-chlorinated brake cleaner is okay to get into the piston chamber. Most of it will evaporate and the rest will burn out. Should you clear a lot of carbon then pull the fuel pump fuse, pull the spark plugs and crank the motor. It will spit out the stuff in the piston. Do not use brake cleaner on vinyl or neoprene gaskets like on throttle body. Chlorinated brake cleaner can damage piston rings.
Can we oil the cylinder after this procedure? To make walls lubricated for extra care ? Oiling through spark holes
It won't hurt anything if you don't use too much. Too much and you could hydrolock or quickly foul your spark plug. Just a few drops
Getting ready to do this on my PT Cruiser. It looks the same. Getting ready to buy some brushes. I won't use wire brushes. I'm not sure if there is a position that has all the valves closed at once. I need to figure that out.
If there was a position where all valves were closed at once it would be a pretty bumpy ride! 😊
I love to try it but little scary... What if i do wrongly ?
idk if im just not smart. but how do i open and close the intake valves 😭

I can feel my Hyundai accent needs this bad since it’s got a gdi engine. I’m gonna try this and clean the catalytic converters. Also how do you know which pistons are up and which are down?
Hello Did you get the information?
If you get the information Can you shared with me please?
Hey bro i like ur videos i have dropped some depris while im removing the intake manifold what should i do how to remove the junk ? Any idea
Thanks, Take the spark plugs out and If u try to start the engine, it will push all the dirt out from spark plug holes
@@AliMECH wil this be safe ? Can i send some pictures to u in WhatsApp?
@@AliMECH i sent a dm in ur insta
With the kit i use i save money because you have to charge extra to remove the intake. I'm done in 15 minutes and give a before and after with my bore scope to the customer. And it's 75 for gas 125 for diesel.
Which kit do you use?
@@laylamkioskli1123 I use a BG direct injection kit. It uses a pressurized cylinder with the cleaner being injected through throttle body tract while it's running. The key to getting it very clean this way is speeding the engine up around 1800 to atomize the cleaner over the valve stems and runners. I run a bore scope through the throttle body before and after for comparisons. It works great.
Interesting video, out of interest how many miles on this engine please?
I think now 120k km
oil catch can?

@mustarosvirsli My car is old and the plastics are cracking if I apply too much pressure. So I won't trust myself with such work. Not experienced mechanic.
Why dont you use Carbon x k1 k2???
You are cleaning the outside the engine in the way out 😄
Hi ali, can you please make a video regarding automatic transmissions diagnosing and repairs, specifically with the solenoid valves. Thanks in advance

You would never want to sand blast it , nut shells blast and your done carb spray doesn't work most times
I should bring my car to you and pay for yoyr service. 👍 Seriously...if in the U.S.
Not in USA, but thanks for your support 🙏
Valve seals get damage for the chemicals youre using, not recommended... wallnuts blasting is the way to go for..
If engine burns bad and the carbon is hardened you’ll have to take the valves off and scrape that shit with something hard. I tried looooads of chemicals and nothing worked, the only tool that did the job was a cutter blade and it took many hours.
WD40 is NOT a penetrating substance; it is a WATER DISPLACEMENT solution, thus the acronym "WD" meaning Water Displacement.
Can I do that in a chrysler 300?
Sure
You cleaned the tops and stems of the valves but since they are in the closed position what about the valve seal points in the seat? How are those cleaned? Do they need to be cleaned as well?
Exactly dude!!! Al that was in vain if you didn't clean the seats of the valve. Unless there was no problem. I guess then it would be very useful
CRC Intake Valve cleaner will work 1000% better than those other 2 cans lol
For anyone attempting this, make sure the intake valves you are cleaning are fully closed. The video doesn't mention it, but is important.
Sure I did, at 00:59
@@AliMECH i missed that, my bad
How do you close them?
@@indigogo5925 you gotta turn the crankshaft until the valves are closed. There are closed most of the time tho, so is not hard to get them fully seated. If you attempt this in a 3.2 fsi audi engine, you gotta turn the engine with the starter, because the germans didn't want to add a damper bolt in the crankshaft 😂
For anyone reading this, don't listen to @RGV2300 😂
Man! I really wanted to see how that looked after using the drill!
Did you see it?
No, you didn’t show it. I’m sure it looked great tho.
Makes me wonder how well oven cleaner would work. It's been removing carboned cheese for years.
I'm thinking of doing this, but I don't have air compressor. Maybe, a compressed air in a can will work.
Sure, it's, you can use it
Is it ok, if the alternator gets wet?
Yes, its splash proof
can be cleaned with a brass or bronze brush?
I don't recommend that, because any small scratches on valve shaft, it will leak oil
@@AliMECH I don't think small scratch on the valves shaft will make a leak , because the valves are in close position (all the way up )when cleaning ,any scratch on the valves shaft can not go up to the valves stems to make a leak
I don't agree to use WD-40 because it carries penetrating oil which will act as magnet to attract dust particles. Rest of procedure is fine
