Introducing the Audi RS e-tron GT!
It’s Audi’s answer to the Tesla Model S Plaid Plus & the Porsche Taycan Turbo, and Mat’s got his hands on one to see if this all-new Audi can make it alongside these class-leaders!
So if we’re comparing it to the Taycan Turbo & Plaid Plus, then you already know RS e-tron is packing a punch! It’s got two electric motors (one at the front, one at the back) and combined they can produce 598hp. However, the e-tron GT also comes with a boost function, which for 2.5 seconds will deliver 646hp! Not only that, but Audi claim it can hit 60mph in just 3.3 seconds.
When looking at the battery, the e-tron GT has a 93kWh battery pack, which Audi claims will be good for a range of 300 miles. However, we’ve seen electric cars drop well below their claimed range before, so do you think the e-tron will offer good enough economy? You’d sure hope it would, especially given the range-topping RS e-tron GT Vorsprung comes in at an eye-watering £133,000!!

I like that a good proportion of controls are physical, and not accessed via a screen (like the Taycan).
That's an interesting description of "green" - in the real world that's had the box ticked for the optional "diarrhoea brown metallic"

So many factors come into range. Outside temperature, type of driving (ie highway, stop and go, etc), how hard you accelerate, what accessories you’re using (air con, seat heaters, rear defrost, etc). Hearing from former Tesla owners, Audi’s estimated range are far closer then Tesla’s.
The more electric cars he reviews, the less we’ll see «the carwow stick of truth» :(

Been looking at several electric cars and this one for me stands out. It just looks so good. And that's coming from someone who is not a fan of Audi. Having sid that, I really would love this car :-)

Great video. I found it really funny when you were honking the horn at people walking. An old couple in a car at one of the rounda-abouts were having a good look. It's an amazing car. I'm not really sure about the colour though. I'd rather it was something slightly brighter or maybe even a matt grey, but not this strange colour, which I think they should name "Health Smoothie". It's also the same colour as rotten Avocado.
Test drove one. Comfortable, fast response. Beautiful exterior. Tight inside especially without the glass roof. Didn't feel as luxurious as it should be considering the price tag. Quite a few things to improve.

No. The Taycan is simply much more cohesive. This is a bits and pieces based "beautiful" car. It may look good now but how will it hold up over a couple of years?
@@LordTechPro I dont quite share your view. It will hold it's prestige just like basically every modern Audi. Perfect interior, futuristic and modern exterior. Where do you base that Taycan's exterior is more "durable"? Because it is more curvy, lol? I see them aging the same way.
@@Wulf44445 Each to their own. The Taycan is in a league of its own. The RSQ8 and the RS e-tron GT are watered down versions of the Porsche Cayenne/Lamborghini Urus and the Porsche Taycan. VW is smart, they want you to spend more money, to avoid the embarrassment of buying a lower priced car. A car should be good on its own merit, not be known as a watered down version of something else

As an owner of this car myself here is a couple of things you forgot to mention. The massage function on the chairs and the autopark (lifesaver for bad drivers) i also have to say if your sat in the back its not very good for long journeys, lots of people get car sick. Also i love the way you were complaining about the noise. Lmao.

Exactly it’s a GT right? From pictures I’ve seen of the Taycan the more tracky, sportier has an armrest.
New accessory opportunity.. A long lid for the compartment between the seats that extends forward enough to serve as an armrest. Unfortunately, it would block the cup holders.
It's unnecessary because you have to sell one of your arms in order to afford this baby.

I've loved this car since I 1st seen it when it was just a concept, the actual version came out PERFECT!! It's beautiful and is definitely going to steal some Taycan and Tesla buyers.. No shortage of roundabouts in Milton Keynes... I had to pick up a Quattro (1989) there for a customer who wanted a test drive, and I had some great fun on the roundabouts in it before blasting down south

Personally, I'd have the sound on. Grown up with sound driving, so even though it's fake, it would still feel more natural I think. Plus, I actually think it sounds cool

That little star button is actually better because you can assign it to almost anything, including changing the drive mode :)
I’m continuing to ask about the filters. Yesterday the Golf was purple and not blue. Today the e-tron is more brown than green.

It's not a filter, when they are editing the video they just need someone to "grade" the footage better. The inaccurate colours might just be someone with a monitor that's not calibrated correctly, on their screen it looks right and so they upload but what we all see is the colours being completely off. It's an easy fix but it can't be fixed now it's uploaded.

In tesla. I can have my arm on armrest to my right, and drink bottle is right in front of my hand, phone and other things have space right in front of that in clear view at base of console. Shifter is stalk behind steering wheel at easy reach without having to take my hands of wheel or having to move them down to console where they would cut down on storage space. Having glove box on remote control means it can be locked for valet or security otherwise. Vents are controllable by one location on screen and are saved for each driver in tesla.
When you were stood at the back at start of video it reminded me of a porche.
