This is the coolest looking EV i've seen so far! Every angle is mean, but it doesn't look too outlandish.
I think its because this car has a front that doesn’t look like a rc car shell and screams eletric , it looks like a real car, has a “front grill” and stuff
I like it but the rear light bar is to much thiccness for me.
In terms of aesthetics I'm a little Porsche fanboy, that's why I like the Taycan slightly more, but the e-tron gt rs still is a great looking car and I can understand everybody who prefers it over the Porsche. Especially for an EV it's really nice, because it seems like many other carmakers are just trying to get a lot of battery and power into their car and give it some poor futuristic look. They treat it like it's not a car, more like a smartphone, with a shitty look and interior, but the e-tron seems different.
That's the beauty of Audi design. Stylish and clean

The car is beautiful, but I will NEVER buy one. 230 mile range? Seriously? I wouldn't buy a gas car with a 230 mile range and gas is everywhere and minutes to fill. Also, the range lie. I have a plug in hybrid with an advertised range of 30 miles and I have never achieved 30. 25.7 was my closest. No AC, No heater (which kills range worse) helped achieve that milestone. Anyway, get me closer to 400 miles and I will kick the tires. Until then, a useless beautiful car to me...
Fact: if you harvest the kenetic energy of Doug's hand movements, it's enough to charge the car from 0 to 80% in 2 hours.

Best looking...sure but how about the best reliable charging stations? Tesla lets you know if a nearby station is functioning or even occupied. With EV`s during this decade, the software is more valuable than looks.

I hate that it's fake. Sure, it sounds cool, but at the end of the day it's artificial, just a track being played from some speakers. I understand that EVs are silent and cars have to make noise when in motion for pedestrians, but I don't like the way that noise is generated at all. I'd prefer noise that is actually generated by a mechanical process that is necessary for the functioning of the car outside of regulation, though that's probably not going to happen with EVs.

Love the buttons and especially that volume control. I just wonder how well placed it is is you have a drink in the cupholder. Same goes for the rear usb's. Great until there's a third passenger...

Nice to see Audi isn’t overloading their steering wheels with buttons like mercedes has been. Also nice that the lower touch screen is back to physical buttons. Smudged screens just isn’t pretty to look at

I like it a lot. It always kind of annoyed me that everyone developing an electric car thinks that you have to reinvent the wheel. This is just a "normal" RS car except that it is electric and I think it works out absolutely great.

Basically every electric car interior has identity issues because it really wants to be a smartphone and smartphones have no buttons or dials, so of course the car can't have buttons or dials. Have you seen the iD3 from the inside? I sat in one and was scratching my head thinking why didn't they just give it the interior similar to a Golf or Passat? All these new gen cars wanna look unique but in reality they are as bland as it gets and the screen is basically saying "I can do absolutely everything... but poorly"

Great review. It would have been good to see what the charging port looks like inside to know what type of charging is available.
The sunroof is a free option that you can choose if you do not want to have the carbon fiber roof. So saying it has no sunroof during the features list is a bit misleading.
If you watched it he stated that he believes it is going to be an option but that this specific car he reviewed was optioned with a carbon roof instead.
And if you're referring to the doug score portion, he has always stated that the doug scores are based specifically on the individual car he reviewed, not the model in general.

The sunroof delete thing is considered a feature in itself. It’s for the racetrack for better performance and headroom for your helmet.

Doug, making the complaint (or comment, even) that rear-seat passengers won't have S-class levels of comfort and legroom isn't exactly fair. The S-class is a completely different type of car, for a different clientele and/or a different purpose. The people who care about luxuriousness won't be drawn to the RS, likewise, people who care about great performance won't be drawn to the S-class.

Just bought a 2023 Etron-GT for 58k and it’s AMAZING. So happy I made the purchase and can’t believe it’s my new daily. Way better than I expected. And V fast.
Doug have some strange prioritys in his scoring: 1) No sunroof is a blessing, no sun glaring at your head and no cold in the winter with dripping condensation, most people north in Europe DONT want a sunroof. People here dont buy the Porche Turisimo because it canot have a roofbox for the skis without getting the sunroof = NO buy for many people around here. Even sedan Porche buyers want a practical car, because they drive these cars every day, at least in Northern Europe. 2) No second screen in the middle is a HUGE + . Most people want button&nobs to controll the AC/temp etc, the touch screens annoy/disturb most people. Most people i know have opted for the Audi GT because of more practical interior, no sunroof and physical buttons, on the booth the cars have identical driveunits etc/its the same car but Audi GT is about 20% less price, go Audi.

I love, love, love the exterior design. Very tasteful from Audi. That said, the interior kinda let me down. I think maybe I’ve just become conditioned to minimalist interiors, notably Model 3. But very good. But at $140k, you’re probably not buying this beauty to save the planet.... Awesome review, Doug!

It's also an iPod wheel, years after the fact. And yeah, I agree with you there. The control dial was an elegant system that worked well without being overly complicated. This is just "innovating" for the sake of it.

Audi get their styling so well these days. Watch and learn BMW and Mercedes...
BMW has lost the plot, but I think the upcoming Mercedes EQS is really good looking too.
BMW has gone off the grid except for the 5 Series, lesser 3 Series (330i and M340i), and 8 Series. Mercedes models still look good, but I think the W222 S Class looks better than the W223. Audi, however, look better the newer they are.
this car isn't the holy grail either. The front& back are weird. The back-side has also this out of nowhere linrle/edge which ends in the middle of nowhere again. Look at the rs7 and the side-line is much better

I don't recall you mentioned the vehicle's range and recharge times, very important to know for potential buyer's. The Mercedes EQS has a maximum range of 740 km (462.5 Miles) for the extended range version which is exceptional.
In the 1st couplé of minutes he said the range is 230 or 240 miles.
My god that is one beautiful vehicle. Seen one today for the first time in person and it is just stunning.

@@JJVernig unsafer? This car engage the parking brake every time the door is open. This makes it quite safer than most of the other cars.
My father-in-law has this car. His driver side charging port door wouldn't open. Unlike other etron GT models, which have a pull cable in the frunk, the RS is different. For the GT you need to use a tool that came with the car and wedge it between the door and the fender gap and pop it open. Then they say to take it to the dealer to verify the popper didn't break.
Lol that volume control works like the iPod classic. That's not weird, I think it's awesome.
