This isn't a simple song. It's art. it's purely art. This one directly arrives inside heart.
One of my top 3 Bruce songs, easily.
Yes it’s absolutely beautiful
He sounds amazing as well. This could have been a movie. Such a good song. He writes lyrics like no other.
@@Bella-ht5jb9he3z a masterpiece
Love this song to death. Learned this song on my guitar and sung it for my son while he went to sleep. Those moments in Covid years remain in heart forever while going through a divorce, this song and other songs by The Boss held me through it ❤ Fast track to 2024, still loving it 😊
Hope everything is better for you. I hear you Bruce has been on my journey with me and my divorce and chronic illness. Jungleland is another amazing song. That sax solo always gives me chills
love that you sang that song to your son... what a fond memory for both
Would sing this song to my son while he was in my belly, after this rendition 🖤
Nobody ever talks about what an incredible piano player he is. Yes, he may not be technically great, but he projects so much emotion and passion....and isn't that what great music is about anyway?
Love when he plays piano. There’s a great version of Backstreets on here.
You know when Bruce is walking towards the piano, magic is going to happen.
Possibly one of the best pieces of music ever recorded.
Grande Bruce Springsteen, espetacular 💕
He isn’t called the Boss for nothing. God blessed us with this gift
The GOAT. Bruce was writing these masterpieces in his 20’s while I had hard time writing a card
Beyond true
Agree
He's the goat 🐐 for sure
Amen
Bang on Michael. It's hard to believe his talent sometimes isn't it and this song is an absolute masterpiece!
When you mention Springsteen to a lot of people , they usually reply " Oh ,Born in the USA , yeah ?" .If you want one song to showcase the talents of the "Born in the USA guy" , this one is takes some beating. Beautiful imagery ,West side story -esque.....but there is still a big part of me that wants to keep this all for myself
Love this track, but if I was gonna show off Bruce, it'd be Jungleland for me.
I know what you mean! Those of us who absolutely adore Springsteen, long ago found out that sharing his music with casual listeners can be very frustrating indeed. The often revisited theme of search for redemption like in the masterpiece ‘Incident on 57th Street,’ just seems to go right over the head of your “top 40” type music listener. Maybe it goes in the “too hard” category. Nothing mindless about listening to the greatest American songwriter. You nailed it.
@@lindaanderson1957 I've just started seeing someone, we seemed to have a lot in common and things are going well, Then I tell her Springsteen is my musical hero and she say's "oh no - he's not my cup of tea". How the hell do get over that hump in the road?
@@stephenporter5796 Oof that's tough! Maybe try to convert her😅? I managed to change my brothers opinion about Springsteen and now, while not really listening to Bruces music when he is by himself, he does like some of his stuff!
@@Eeza07 New York Serenade for me !
Bruce Springsteen is such an unusual Rockstar not flashy not eccentric and very humble in addition to being a fantastic songwriter
I think that fact that he wasn’t flashy is the reason he isn’t as popular as queen or Led Zeppelin. His talent is amazing but his heart didn’t want to show off and I think I’m the long run he never got the respect and recognition he so rightfully deserved. It’s not fair but I guess that’s what he wanted.
@@josefmatushek28 He got a far longer career out of it. Every time I see Led Zeppelin fans flexing it over others online, I cannot help but think "but they didn't last, did they".
Cant believe the lack of likes for this. This reduces me to ALMOST tears, lol, so so so beautiful, this taps into everything that makes us human and I fucking love it so much. Thanks Bruce.
agreed
Oh won't you tell me What's....your....naaaaaame? ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I thankfully stumbled across this via a link on my feed called "The Most Overlooked Song from Each [Bruce] LP," and you're right: it's so beautiful.
This is why he is the boss. Perfectionism
The dislikes are from Pearl Jam fans, and therefore have no Music taste.
Love that lyric "beat up old buick, but dressed like dynamite"
We are so blessed to have this man in our lives. He's a genius and one of a kind. Thanks for all the great memories Bruce.
David Mahony never a truer word spoken Davy Boy. Dowtcha Kid.
Sent from another planet, how he could write this so young and then play it like this years later is not normal. The Boss !
Well said.
He could be channeling god? What else explains the brilliance of "Incident" other than he, she, or it intervening?
Maria Rosario Silva Mozicas lidas romaticas de Amor Teu pai Não morreu este coração ♥ daqueles que o Amamos
This song and this specific version is so heartfelt and - at least to me - so beautiful and genuine. Bruce is truly a gift!
Well said
Best version of this song EVER. Live accoustic piano. Priceless. Listened to the Boss for 20 years now and I still haven't seen them live. Number one on my bucket list.
Stewart, go dude, you'll never forget Springsteen live. Go!
You need to see him live he’s amazing
You re late man!! Id rather starve for days to see him once.
Nothing like seeing him live. I've been blessed to see him many times in the last 40 years, including on Broadway. He only gets better with age, if you can believe that!
@@amygraff7926 I can certainly believe it. Wow, on Broadway. Amazing.
Incredible, truly beautiful. I thought The Promise (Bruce on piano, live in NYC) and Racing in the Street (at Paramount) were unsurpassable moments of magic, but this is in danger of being my most played video. The greatest songwriter, storyteller, singer and performer I've discovered in 74 years on this planet. Thank you Bruce, for enriching my life with your music and your humanity.
This is my favorite Bruce song - right behind about twenty others. Can you believe how many great songs Springsteen's written. No wonder he has a hard time with mundane reality - when he performs he goes so deep inside - to a place most of us can't fathom - and becomes the song - not just a singer of some words.
Same. Top 100 has bruce in the first 99 places... And this and NYC Serenade and Jungleland are operettas. Just magnificent
Most romantic song ever How can anyone not love this It's a masterpiece Bruce x
agreed
I absolutely agree! My best boss Song ever!
What a great video of an amazing song, and a wonderful artist. Bruce we love you. I am just so glad that I am living in your time. Wishing you a speedy recovery and good health for the future. We love you Bruce... X
Sometimes I just sit back and think how much impact this man’s work has had on my life and millions of other lives. Every single day is a “Bruce day.” ‘Incident on 57th Street’, the greatest romantic story written about NYC ever! To think Bruce wrote this by 23 years old. Genius babe!
Well said Linda. The man is all class
Beautiful words !
I can't even express what I wanna say❤
It makes me so sad that my generation will never grow to appreciate the beauty of real music like this. Truly the greatest songwriter and live entertainer of all time
I agree but also know they have their own “real music”, it’s just that folks our age aren’t seeking it out like we used to. But it’s out there.
Maria Rosario Silva Não fiques triste poi quer que sejas Feliz ele foi grande cantor corações 💕
Real music is out there, still. I doubt it will ever stop being out there. It may be a slightly different style, but that's normal. I'm pretty sure when Springsteen was young, older people were also bemoaning the death of real music. When people started doing polyphony in the Renaissance, I guarantee you someone somewhere was bemoaning the death of real music. And yet there still are people seeking out and singing medieval songs many centuries later. (My personal contemporary young generation favourites are Seo Linn, but I'm pretty sure there are lots of others.)
I agree! He is actually underrated.
some will. I've played Bruce to my son since he was a baby. He is now 30 and loves his music, so much so he went to his last Jersey concert in Sept whilst he was on his honeymoon in the USA. We live in Australia.
Never really payed to much attention to his earliest work, I just thought it wasn't for me. But after having seen this, I'm certainly convinced. This song almost stands with his very best and biggest hits.
This is a top 20 BS song, for me. He was at a peak on the 2nd side of 'The Wild, The Innocent ... ' album even before 'Born To Run'.
Maybe his best live's performance...ever!
the wall from bruce , also a master piece bro !
Wow!! I saw Bruce 11 times, heard Incident, one time. I almost fell out when I heard The First Piano Cords. So Great!!
Every note, every word goes straight to my heart and soul. Masterpiece.
Great words...
This song makes me tear up. Every high note he hits is beautiful more than words can say.
agree!!!
Yes, it's a really beautiful song.
"Out of the shadows came a young girl's voice, said Johnny don't cry..." and I always cry.
Good Night, it‘s alright, Janey. One of the best Boss tunes. Solo piano is always priceless.
This is genius.
could listen for hours. It's the most beautiful song ever. Bruce and the E Streetband makes me happy since more than 40 years and i can't get enough from his music. Each day starts and finished with a Bruce song. Best health for all time.
oh The best im from del Aa
You're so right. Best song.
Agree so beautiful song and good story
sad song isnt it? but very good lyrics from te boss
The most romantic Epic song The best I love bruce x
My favorite version of “Incident”. Been a Springsteen fan since I was a sophomore at Seton Hall in ‘75 and first saw him live. More than once Double parked my car and ran through the streets of Passaic to get tics at the Capitol Theatre. WNEW would announce “ tickets go on sale .....NOW”. Quite memorable when he would show up in Asbury clubs in the middle of winter when crowds were small. I could go on and on......
What is it about this man? I could hear this a thousand times and still get Goosebumps!
Most underrated musician in the world. Arguably the greatest of all time. Songs and voices like this doesn’t appear these days anymore
Underrated? Oh boy! 😂 everybody knows he is one of the best!
@@menor0868 We know he is the best. But, he is definitely underrated.
This masterpiece has only 290k views and 'Tougher than the rest ' has 63 million.. WTF. SMH. Bruce if you read this, please play this in NC in 2021. Thanks.
Tougher than the rest is really good tho, it didn’t deserve that punch
Do not knock "Tougher Than the Rest". That entire album is an amazing sight into the reality of love. This song romanticises love. Of, course you expect that in your 20's. Maybe lack of views is due to song title. The full band version gets more appreciation from me, but AFTER solo piano in Tampa well before this DVD was released.
I wanna meet the person that requested this song!!!! The rare case of the world winning!! To the Person that requested this, thank you!!
My very favorite version of this song.A masterpiece
Everyone knows him for his vocals , guitar and mouthorgan but he's pretty handy on the piano too. Great song of a truly great album. Almost 50 years old.
This song, along with Racing in the Street, are by far my favourite Springsteen songs. As a big Tom Waits fan I find them equally as moving as Wait's Kentucky Avenue. The songs have the same synergy and storytelling that goes straight to the heart and lacrimal ducts.
It’s a genius !
He will go down as the greatest singer songwriter of all time. A true American Treasure.
Bruce, Thank God for you. Going through a rough one I’m losing a really good friend. The music is sure helping. This one made my eyes water
Probably one of my most favorite songs and one of his most underrated, Magnificent piano playing, I'm so impressed that he is amazing Pianist as well!
Witness a master, at the very top of his game.
Incident on 57th Street album version would barely enter their top 50 songs. But in this version it's one of his 10 best songs. With Bruce it's like that. It's just like him. On the album he's one of the best musicians of our era. Live he's the best of all time.
Best said! Beyond true
A song of rare beauty. It tells a memorable love story.
The best song ever and the best version. Bruce and his piano.
I am still in love with this man. I only saw him once at the Fox Theater in Atlanta when I was a teenager. I am turning 60 in December and my feelings have not changed. Thank God for “Glory Days “
that's cute......I am 74 this year and I just "discovered" Bruce's music a few months ago, have almost everything he's done now, when and how did he learn to pay piano?? Love him, and Patti too.
I was there too. In fact he played The Fox twice within a year or so. I'd been to many concerts there (Otis, James Brown, Paul Revere and the Raiders and many others). But Bruce was unlike any I'd seen, or maybe the world had seen. 4 hours non-stop. Crowd going crazy. His sings kept buzzing in my head for days afterward. Rabid fan ever since, needless to say..
If only it could happen again!!! The greatest rock n roll band this world will have ever known.
Same as me. Discovered him when I was 61, making up for lost time. Seen him five times so far.
Just a genius can play it like that on that hour
He opened with this at one of the Holiday shows in Asbury circa 2004/5. At the end of the song, my brother turned to me and said "Well. we just got our money's worth."
“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest; heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul” Author Unknown
music is the spirit of the mind an heart .......
Think he wrote that when he was 21 Angela pure class
My favorite song of all time. I remember first hearing it and thinking that it sounds nothing like I've ever heard before.
We think alike.
@@marklevasseur7696 Same here, my favorite song ever
This is it, there's just nothing that even comes close to this... best song and best performance EVER!
for me that song is thunder road
You said it
Most underrated Bruce's song.
the wall also
Bruce on the piano Is the best thing you ever see Soul right there x
Such a soulful, beautiful, intimate ballad - written by the people's poet laureate. Springsteen is the voice of many generations. This Barcelona concert seems to be one of the most epic of all time. Long live The Boss!
It really does. Love Waiting On A Sunny Day from Barcelona.
Wow!! Simply wow the man is a genius!!
Have to thank my friend Paolo for convincing me to drive down from Paris to Barcelona after the October 14 show despite us having no tickets, and a show planned ahead for Bologna on the 18th... did get tickets outside Palau St Jordi, were in - and listening to this was worth the 2000 extra km driven. Thank you.
People that think Bruce can't sing are crazy!
What was just missed was Roy giving the nod. One of the greatest live performances ever, I think.
I've been a fan for over forty years. I love so many songs he's recorded yet it's very easy for me to pick a favourite: Incident on 57th Street. This piece is simply sublime.
Same for me ... 30 years and counting hopefully .. went to 70 tot 80 concerts so far .. best song ever written in my humble opinion .
Bruce himself is a master piece and I feel blessed for discovering him at 14 so I appreciate the hell out of Born in the USA and I started buying one cassette at a time from greetings up and when I got to the darkness album my god did I fall in love and for me it is the greatest album ever and to see footage of that tour is an incredible moment every time thank you for this great tune
astonishing, even now, in 2020!
Classic. One of The Boss’s true classics. Puts you right on the Jersey Shore.
...or/and NYC😎
WOW...so incredible, I have carried this song with me for the last 30 yrs. So blessed to have had Bruce in my life...
The greatest songwriter in history. Bruuuuuuce
Probably the best anecdotal song ever written.
❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Bruce was the best! He wrote songs about life & it's ups and downs. Working class who faced hardships and overcame them. Bruce will always be a hero, OUR hero.
This was my first LP I bought by Bruce Springsteen. For me this song defines his great ability as a songwriter. It's a wonderful piece of music, and the vocals so poignant.
This song BREATHES. This song will live on in our hearts forever.
agree with you !
The maestro at work...with one of his greatest compositions.
This is the greatest song ever written.
The best song ever. No words...
A timeless masterpiece
It also shows what a great piano player he is. Wrote a lot of the early tunes on piano before transposing them to guitar. Amazing performance.
That is the best version I have ever heard of just about my favorite song in the world. Thank you so much for posting this.
Can you ever stop listening to Bruce Every day in the car Going to work Coming home And I still play CDs
Massive tune.
I can't help but lean into the opening of this song and await the beauty that follows.
Still here ..I could jus watch. An listen all nite an never get fed up ...think dat says alot these days 🙂 an I'm young at 41 ....his d best X
The lyrics entrance me. Bruce's piano playing is exquisite.
I get misty every time I hear this song. Well done indeed!
Great song shirley
Not surprised at that shirley. Its a MASTERPIECE
Applause because we can't hold back anymore. Encore applause just because everyone went early.
This particular concert has given me several of my favorite versions of many of his songs. See: "Empty Sky", "City of Ruins", "Into the Fire", "You're Missing", "She's the One". Just pure emotion.
Forgot one - "Worlds Apart:, which I had not heard before - this performance blew the studio version away.
"Worlds Apart" too
Waiting On A Sunny Day to.
One of his greatest individual performances ever...
Such talent
It's always good to hear your songs, to start the day happier. I wish you all happy and healthy days.
Enorme!!
Simplistically one of the most beautiful songs I've heard..... And I've heard a TON! It makes you wish you were there with 10 thousand of your closest friends singing together. That's what this does to you. It puts you in that place. In that moment. In that song! You can see it as it is being performed. You see the characters in the musical play. What a gem 💎
What talent you are a genius !
the wall from bruce , also a master piece , honor the veterans .......
Tuve la gransuerte de estar en ese pedazo de concierto, inmenso Bruce.
Qué envidia da la buena!
What a beautiful song ..never tire listening to it
Most underrated part of this video is that shirt. Best shirt!!!!
This and Lost in the Flood...also love Billy's Circus Song...Seeing him One Last Time..in my Life..Nov in To. Cost is irrelevant ..Can't take it with me...I now have tears.. again..
A haunting, beautiful song of youth and love.
The Spanish crowds love that the song is about Spanish Johnny.
Barcelona is not Spain.Free Catalonia.
Last week I visited New York, with my Girl and our daughter. It was our very first trip to the US. As we walked along 7th Ave and 57th Street this song came to mind. This one and New York City Serenade. It was an awesome moment! A perfect Soundtrack for our trip. Oh, how I fell in love with New York City...🇺🇸
This is my ultimate favorite live
Listned to bruce since early 70s seen him twice in ne.brilliant
There is only one Bruce I listened to this guy from 4 years old Fell in love with the music straight away Got my dad to buy me a tunnel of love t shirt from a shop in Blackpool It was way too big I wore it every day ! The guy paints the best picture Love struggle romance True love The best artist
I'm 39 now
@@barrygreenwood6599 I got the t-shirt from the Tunnel of Love tour. Still got it. Saw him in Birmingham and Sheffield. I remember we had to park the car in a field miles away from Bramall Lane. It was pitch dark when we got back to the car park, and I thought I'd never find the car.
I did not know he played piano...awesome..the boss!!!!!!!!
Great musicians can pick up any instrument and learn to play it in no time.
Over the years he has written many of his best songs from the piano.
There are such excellent musicians in the E Street Band that Bruce's own accomplishments fade into the background... he plays the piano, but then there's Roy Bittan who REALLY plays piano... :-)
