Here’s how the story continued in Indian Wells: kzhead.info/sun/opajerupj555lIE/bejne.html
Nadal is like a teacher to Alcraz. He will bless him whether he wins or loses because after Rafa, Alcraz must glorify the game of tennis.
Well said. Alcaraz lucky to have Nadal as a mentor.
@@AkatsukiShadow this.
Man, this makes me want to meet Nadal a lot more
Ciencia o va sport boyd
Beautifully said. Indeed.
You can see how happy he is despite him losing 1 and 2, just look at that smile on his face
yeah but I don't know if that's a good sign when it comes to his rivalry with Nadal. If he wants to be the best has to regard Nadal as an opponent and not an idol when on court. Rafa was also very good in this since starting up. He was always respectful to other great players outside the court but when he faces them he only saw them as opponents and went for war when needed. We saw this since his first matches with Federer or Moya.
@@GameOfLife55 Well, Nadal won't be around much longer so I don't think this will be a problem going forward. He just happens to see Nadal as a legend, which is certainly understandable so, no problemo.
This is extremely beautiful. 🇪🇦🐐
I'd love for Nadal to coach Alcaraz once he retires like Moya coaches Nadal.
It’s a really difficult as Nadal will probably focus on his family and wouldn’t like to travel constantly. He didn’t have a child till now because he want to give full time for his child.
@@unishea1649 very true. Maybe an assistant coach from afar.
Nadal is going to enjoy his well earned millions, and won't coach further from his academy
Nadal has got better things to do in life post retirement I guess
Lol, Ferrero is already well settled with Alcaraz.
Reminds me a lot of young Rafa back in then. He has powerful shots, great athleticism, great feel for the ball, great work ethic, he is humble and fights for every point. With his game he could be successful on all surfaces, not just on clay. Looking at the way he carries himself on court at this young age, he is already a role model for all tennis players.
Let him win 🏆.
Rafa was a complete package right from the day he played his 1st slam and won it... across countries he won fans and admirers... no one can truly match his personality...
Alcatraz carlos good but if he win 3 grand slam in future serendipity for him.
To me it seems that his style of play resembles Novak more than Rafa.
@@jayap3557 .. and Nadal beat world no.1 Federer 6 out of the first 7 times they met. In contrast Alcaraz has only beaten world no. 1 Novak once out of 1 meeting, so the comparison is grossly exaggerated at this point in time ....

Alcaraz will most likely carry the torch for spanish tennis after Rafa retires. He's a great young talent already under Juan Carlos Ferrero tutelage!
Most players don't even bother to applaud to other opponents when they'd exiting from tennis court after loss , but Nadal almost always applauded..Nadal and Federer are the true classy and a true legends.
I'm a die hard fan of Rafa but it's sad people leave out Nole in this category. Yes, he's a mercurial character but he is equally humble and gracious in defeat.
Rudy I agree with you 100%.
What is it with these Spanish players. They are so humble , even in greatness. Good family upbringing being grounded in good manners & humility.
The Spanish fans are used to educated and humble tennis players. Breaking rackets, mistreating ball boys or being rude to the referee is not well seen in our tennis and that way of acting correctly is instilled in them from a young age.
@@alalba2136 : unfortunately we see less & less of gentle well mannered players these days. Part of what society is turning out to be, aggressive & selfish. Sad but true.
Spanish tennis is probably the only part of spanish sport that I love. And I mean, I love them, Nadal especially, but also Ferrer, Muguruza, Moya, and now Carlitos. MeanwhiIe I hate Madrid, Barca, National Team, Fernando Alonso, Contador... Well, maybe Pau Gasol is ok, but that's about it.

I personnaly discover him in Madrid against Nadal, its incredible to see his development since this match, it was probably his career's turning point.
Alcaraz will be very easy to root for (when he's not playing Rafa, for me). I suspect a lot of guys in Rafa's position would NOT be willing to practice with the young up-and-comer. Doing so only helps Carlos by eroding Rafa's mystique and familiarizing Carlos with his unique game. But Rafa does it. Good guy. Two good guys.
Compared to the time of Madrid 2021, Carlos grew up like a different person. At 1:39 he made a defensive stroke, but now he would be attacking. I'm looking forward to the match between the two.
But that was actually a good choice. It forced Nadal to hit a weaker shot, which then allowed him to attack the ball. Rafa finally hit a lob and Alcaraz put it away. That could be an important shot in their upcoming match, but we'll have to see.
alcaraz gonna be huge

Nadal Alcatraz Indian wells biggest match of the year outside of majors
Alcaraz is the one...not the mean players, the loud players, the dramatic players, the offensive players, the apathetic players, the yellers...they are a total drag to watch - in spite of their fans - who just don't get it. Alcaraz is polite, kind, sensitive, thoughtful. I hope he beats everyone who thinks it's okay to be an asshole as long as you win....and the players who scowl when they lose a point and scream when they win a point...or shake their fist at their opponents...who are poor losers AND poor winners. I hope he wins everything for years.
If The Goat with all his wisdom sees himself as the 18 year old he was once, and rates him for greatness for having the talent and humility for the work ethic, then watch out for this kid!
That first match can be completely thrown out the window. Carlos was just happy to be there. Now, he actually wants to win.
Good analysis. For those who are not Spanish, do not expect an exhibition match; A Spanish civil war, a sporting duel to the death. From my point of view, Nadal should have retired with the pain in his foot. Alcaraz is very aggressive if "everything goes" he can win. Nadal is the experience, the strategy and tactics on the court, but there may be a before and after this game. Naturally, Rafa does not avoid the challenge, but he is the one who plays the most. Punctuate match Saturday 22:30 h. Spanish time. I think he will win...

Want Alcaraz to win against Nadal, it will not only give confidence to him but also he will be the next best Spanish player to rule tennis.
Alcaraz AKA The Kid, is so popular now; big Nike contract, The Big Tennis Racquet endorsement, Federer's Watch Company is looking to Carlito as his heir apparent. Imagine that. The Heir apparent with all those magical shots that outdo even Nadal. That impossible smile and impeccable lifestyle. That boyish demeanor and love of the game. After all those years and wondering where the game is going, we get the second coming. And it is in this child they call Carlos Alcaraz. Some of them crowd roars are louder than they ever were for Nadal and Fed because the crowds love the Kid, maybe not as much as Fed and Nadal, but it is headed that way fast. Guess what? The crowd is jumping on that bandwagon and fast, that is the Alcaraz Train. They will enjoy every Slam and tennis moment from here on out and when it all ends they won't care how many slams he has because in their eyes he will be their man. The great player once known as the Kid. We love tennis again. Fed, Nadal, Djokovic be damned. We got ourselves The Kid, to root for and enjoy for the next 18,20, maybe 24 years. It is like when Lebron came along and many of us did not care for Michael Jordan. Now we can make a case for Lebron as GOAT, albeit not a convincing one, but a legitimate case nonetheless. And anyway, my GOAT will always be Julius Erving in basketball, Bobby Orr in hockey (Sorry Gretz or Lemieux), Roberto Duran in Boxing, and Chrissie in Women's tennis. What the hell you can throw in Peter O'Toole in acting. My GOAT in football is Patrick Mahomes, who by the way with 2 super bowls has far less than Tom Brady's 7. Sports has showed us we all have our own GOATs. There is a place for the mostest or the highest or the biggest. But we acknowledge those, give credit for them in Espy awards and the like, toss that aside then look back at our favorites on youtube, or online somewhere, maybe with friends and family over a few cold ones. We can do that nowadays. We cherish and marvel at the big shots, last second heroics and the guts and grit of our guys. The Kid: That impossible smile. That stiff, impeccable, implacable half gait-half swagger. That short crop child-like haircut. All that fun he has on that Tennis Court. Those lobs and drop shot and gets. Nobody is as fun to watch as the Kid. It does not matter come Sunday whether he wins or loses. My guess is he comes out and wins a solid first game 6-4, beats Djoker in a tie break in the second, then wins an uneventful 3rd: 6-3. He may get bageled, or win or lose a tight 5 setter. It doesn't matter. He was tied in Roland Garros before the cramps. He is at, or better than the Big Three's level. There is the future and reams of trophies and silver to be had. That is all there for the taking. There is nobody to play. Tsitsipas is not interested in improving. Ditto Berretini. Medvedev is content where he is at. That is evident in that gawd-awful volley he tried against you. Nothing's improved in Med's game. He may already be on a decline. Kyrgios is so screwed in the head he does not want a single slam in his singles Career. ditto Shapovalov and Raonic: The Canadians who refuse to win. Rune, Ruud, everyone else are light years behind and all indicators are that is where they will stay, judging by what every player has done in the last 40 years other than the Big Three. Now there is only Djoker to play for 3 years, maybe 4, maybe five. My fears: All that power in the forehand. How long will the shoulders, elbow and wrists hold up? Same for the torque and power in the legs. What of the hips, knees and calves? Nobody can move like you Kid. Not even Nadal. My final thought: I think Alcaraz was dead even with Novak in Roland Garros. I think he may well be best on a grass surface. Look at what he did to Tsitsipas, Berretini and Rune. He has improved a lot. If not training or talking strategy. He is studying tennis. 14,15, 16 hours a day, everyday. That's passion. But, one more thought: After all that has been said and done is anybody out there watching and wondering as the crowds move from loving Federer and Nadal to Carlos? I suspect the crowd will have something to say in Sundays outcome Reply 3 Reply

I don't see why not... Rafa has won 21 already while he had to compete against both prime Fed and prime Novak(not to mention Andy, Stan, Delpo etc). Alcaraz probably won't have to compete against players of that caliber. I mean no1 else on Tour right now has the ceiling that Carlos seems to have.

As a Spaniard, you can't compare the resources available now to learn English with what Rafa had when he was 18
@@robertozayas5173, of course you can. More or less the same.
