  • From 2006 - 2010 novak had health problems that lead to mid match collapses etc. Classy tennis leaders like fed and roddick assumed novak was a joke and was gaming the system. And everyone went along. Then in 2010 novak was diagnosed with gluten and dairy intolerance, and changed his regime. The mid match collapses were replaced with what we know to be Das Goat. If the haters want to latch on to a fantasy world where Roger is the only true classy elegant genius goat, be my guest...but over time, yall will pass on, and all that will remain are the real world stats of wins vs losses.

    • @@initialize21 when it comes to winning, it takes so much more than elegant strokes and graceful hair tossing; it requires a genius to predict what the opponent will do next, and the mindset to remain cool, composed and fearless under the most extreme pressure. Any person not living in denial would want novaks fitness and mindset over rogers....and while rogers strokes have more elegance grace and poetry, novak has a clinical perfection that one would be crazy to ignore.

  • Djokovic never confronted Roger directly, during a match, or using the press. He was smarter than that. He knew that with the fans and the press, he would never win that war. So, he just waited, and waited, for years... he kept playing, and winning, and winning, slowly erasing all the big Roger´s numbers. One by one, year after year, until today. Silently, knowing that the popularity award was lose from the very beginnig against Federer, he went to the other direction, to the numbers. Breaking the majority of the records that belonged to Roger these years. And with that strategy, he broke what he really wanted to brake: Roger´s ego. As a sweet and giant reward for all the public humillation inflicted by the swiss with this kind of statements. And Roger has had to swallow that in silence, cause Novak never confronted him. Maybe to the big eye, the swiss is more beloved, BUT, the numbers (and that´s what is left in the history books) are Novak´s property. We are talking about professional sport, training all your life to be the best you can. A very few, like the big 3, has the opportunity to challenge and write history. Between them is all about winning the most. And Roger knows this: no matter how much love he can receive all around the world, the best of the best is Novak

  • Absolutely. From this point on, Roger literally took dig at Nole / his camp at every opportunity. Each body is different and matures differently and as an older established sportsman he should have tried to understand that but he and roddick did everything to taint Nole's image and his retirements. Nole's family retaliated with "King is dead. Long Live the King". Western media showed us only the nole family issue but not the Roger's part (funded by his sponsors/PR machinery) Infact to this day, Fedal fans complain about those retirements Nole took early in his career and tag him as fake. But in reality, Nole only retired 4 times in the whole of previous decade compared to 11 from Rafa. Strange is this biased world or rather, strange is my expectation that expects an unbiased world from this poison media consuming audience.🤷‍♂

    • No I don't agree..Federer wasn't the only one who thought djokovics time outs were strategic because a lot of times djokovic bounced back and won after being down and put. Multiple players had raised an issue about it not only roddick or Federer The number of retirements were never the issue, the time outs and mysterious injuries which suddenly became ok we're the issue. Djokovic's parents just had resentment against Federer from the start.Federer was No 1 and they wanted their son to dethrone him. My opponent can say he cant even walk and then beats me for example, I wouldnt say a word. I wouldnt bother myself thinking if he was faking or not. To make a comment by like this by Federer shows what a low life as a human being he truly is in real life. Pity. After the bribing of ATO and the lack of respect towards Djokovic, Nadal's integrity flew out the window after Federer's. Shame that just because Djokovic is not from a Western country, they can't accept the fact that he is the best ever tennis player. Shameful they were like this 3 decades ago when Monika Szeles was stabbed in the back so Stefi Graaf could get to the top. No integrity in Western country towards any one else's talent unlike us from the Balkan cheering every player from anywhere in the world. Shameful losers.

Then: we are not playing the victim card, everyone is 'just' against us. Well, why might that be? As for Djokovic: his entourage/family, especially sister and father have been completely daft, delusional and toxic from the get go. Mister Djokovic himself: trying to lie your way into a country in the midst of a pandemic, organize a tournament without Safety precautions during Covid. Impersonate people (was mildly funny but not everyone appreciated it), throw antics, tantrums, break rackets, fake injuries / time-outs, bounce the ball 20 times so they actually changed the rules and introduced a shotclock for serving. His progress is huge on shots, movement and most of all - serve. It is fair to say there was a significant age difference between Federer and Djokovic, but Djokovic and Nadal are the same age and Nadal was the only rival for Federer when Federer was in his prime and still Djokovic accomplished what he did while having Nadal as his rival. Also what is now doing at 36 years of age is insane. If we are honest the GOAT content relies on numbers, not opinions. It made Rafa and Novak more competitive on hard courts and grass too. If you don't believe this made a difference just look at all the players batching right now about the heavy slower Dunlop balls. Players are booking their entire schedule around avoiding them because they know they cannot win playing with them and too high risk of injuries for anyone but the absolute most powerful brutes. • Roger has always been a sore loser even against his best friend Nadal. Its okay because they are playing seriously competitive tennis and with changing times Tennis is no longer a gentlemans sport and with serious money & fame involved such transgressions are part of the excitement. Btw I am a fan of Djokovic & Nadal.

  • The comments from federer and the handshake at the end shows that Federer has very poor sportsmanship. Yet he got lots of sportsmanship awards. Yes his tennis in this match was better than novak.
