Verben Mit Dativ A1 | ALL 14 German Dative Verbs for A1 Level
In this lesson you can learn ALL German dative verbs for A1 level: Verben mit Dativ A1.
In total there are only about 60 German verbs which do require the Dative case. It's really worth learning those verbs and I always suggest to my students to memorize the dative verbs. Once you know these verbs... for almost all other verbs you can use the accusative case... except for example the important verb "sein" which does require the nominative case.
For A1 level it's only 14 verbs which do require the dative case. Definitely worth memorizing them! ;)
Viel Spaß und bis bald

I dont understand "hans felht ihr"??? why it is "she misses hans" not "hans misses her"? isnt hans the subject? why is it the object here?
In English we simply say “I miss him/her, but in other languages such as German and Italian, when it comes to the verb “to miss someone”, we say it in a different way. In this case Hans is the subject because he is giving to her the feeling of being missed. It’s not a rule, it’s just the way we say it.
It's more like a "Hans is missing from her", that's the way we phrase it in many languages. It's like French "Hans lui manque" or Spanish "Le hace falta Hans".
Ja,die Frisur gefällt mir.😍😍😍👍🏻
Excellent video, Luzi. I'm really trying to get all this A1 content under-my-belt and memorised! I must say that I learn something on every video from you guys, I really do. They are even clearer on a second play-through! "Ich lerne seit nur vier monate Deutsch" but I feel I'm making progress, largely thanks to you guys' videos, and the songs and TV shows I consume! They really support the textbooks I have, which can be a bit "dry" and a little boring sometimes! I don't want to get too overwhelmed by grammar, but I believe it to be important, especially if one wants to write YT comments in German, and the latest thing I have started to notice and worry about is where to set commas? Clearly, it is different than in English, and I have no idea where you actually put the comma when trying to form/make longer sentences? When I translate sentences, it seems like an odd place to put the comma! LOL Do you already have - or will you be making - a video on the issue of "commas" in German, and where one should put them? I know it's probably above my current level, but I don't think it hurts to look towards the future! Thanks so much, regardless. :)
vielen Dank!! 🙏🙏😊 great to hear! no we do not have yet about commas. but i will put it on our lost for sure. 👍 just little quick: there used to be tons of rules like in english probably as well. but it got way easier with the commas a couple years ago. most conjunctions or sub-conjunctions (like weil, dass, deshalb...) have a comma before the conjunction. NOT before und and aber though. so it usually just separates two sentences. or you can also put it whenever you think the reader should take a break. hope this helps until we have the video done. ☺️
@@yourgermanteacher Danke, das ist sehr hilfreich! :) You are both very good teachers! See you next time! :)
Wonderful ...you EXPLAIN so well!!
Do you have by any chance a video where all the 60 verbs from A1 until C1 are mentioned? I just find your videos so great and helpful
not yet 😉
Your videos are the best! Great presentation and content! Leider, I got confused with the first sentence and with "Hans fehlt ihr wircklich." In the video the translation is "She really misses Hans," but Hans is in Nominativ and ihr is in Dativ... Ich danke dir für Deine Arbeit!!
vielen dank und sehr gerne. 🙏😊👍 yes this “fehlen” can be a bit confusing but you will find an answer in this video here: kzhead.info/sun/ZpWHcqV6sJmQdI0/bejne.html

Mir gefällt die Frisur! Und mir gefällt dich! Danke sehr für deine Videos!! 😍
bitte gern! 👍😊 your second sentence is almost correct. don’t forget: every sentence has a subject; and the subject is always in nominativ... so it would be: und du gefällst mir... 😉

Hello Luzi, First, I would like to thank you very much for your marvelous videos and explanations. I discovered your channel by chance when I was looking for an explanation for prepositions, but then I started to watch the rest of the lessons. Thank you for making German sound easy, logical, fun, and possible to be learned. This videos is no exception really, I just happen to have one question please: At 1:32, there is the example: Ich muss dir für morgen absagen. I have to cancel our appointment tomorrow. My question is: there is no mentioning of the word ‘’appointment’’ in the German sentence, is it to be understood from the context then, like you have explained in the model verb? Another question, since there is no ‘’appointment’’ word in the German sentence, can the sentence also have the meaning: ‘’I am cancelling you tomorrow’’ or not? Thanks again and please keep up the amazing work.
Hallo Tasneem, thank you very much! happy to hear that our videos do help! Regarding your question: Thats why we use Dativ here, because we dont cancel something but somebody. I am not sure if you cancel somebody in English. But... this example: Ich sage das Konzert (Akkusativ) ab. I cancel the concert. Ich sage dir ab. I cancel whatever agreement / appointment we had together. So out of the context you will never come in trouble with this. Hope this helps 🙃
@@yourgermanteacher Thank you Lutzi that tip was very helpful, I'll keep that in mind. Your videos are more than helpful really, I am a beginner learning on my own, and I was losing hope in understanding some grammar lessons like articles, prepositions and adjectives and I thought they should just come naturally by time. However, you have explained them all in a way that made me think maybe German is not that hard or complicated after all! I also suggested your channel and lessons to my brother who is learning German too. Thanks again for all your efforts, explanations and definitely bonus tips :)
@@yourgermanteacher so that means that absagen can also be used with accusative not just dative?
Ja die gefällt mir
Best Video.....Best Teacher....God bless..

Ja , diese Frisur gefällt mir
Please sir, where have you put the word our appointment in your example? "Ich muss dir fur Morgen absagen"
Ja, die Frisur gefällt mir.
Yeah ome!! Mir gefällt die Frisur!!
1:30 can anyone please clarify this example? Since there is not a single noun in the sentence, does this (literally) just mean "I have to cancel (you) for tomorrow" ?
I also have the same doubt..
Ich danke Ihnen fur das video!
Gerne 😊
Hallo, ich habe eine Frage zu diesem Thema, speziell in Bezug auf das Verb schmecken. Wenn ich frage: Schmeckt dir das? Warum steht dann das Pronomen an zweiter Stelle? Gibst es dafür eine Regel? Danke ;)

Tnx for the vid. But this is a bit confusing. I could positively say: Ich sage den Termin ab. Doesn't that turn that verb into accusative?
Thank you so much can I know in the sentence: Hans fehlt ihr wirklich Why the translation is she missed hans not the opposite please
Vielen dank!
Sehr gerne. 🙏👍

Hey, die Frisur gefällt mir

02:40 i watched the other video about it and sort of understood it but wouldnt it be more accurate to be tranlaslated as Hans is missed by her?? what will it be if i wanted it ,like this ( hans misses Her) also (she misses Him) i would like translation for these 2 please and thanks in advance
yes, you are right. that would be the accurate translation but not very common used right... 😉
@@yourgermanteacher indeed-would u please translate the 2 senteces i requested ?
@@yourgermanteacher Hallo . I think on this phrase too but I translate "Hans fehlt ihr wirklich" as "Hans really misses her". Am I right? Thank you
