best part was the masses of fans lining the road the entire way. And in that heat. My hat is off to them. Both of them.
Haha yup
Bjerg missed his interval session last week. Had to do his 6 x 2min @ zone 4 tuning drill today.
Lol’d at this comment
Movistsar is a tactically sound team now? Well I gues the world is about to end. We had a good run.
Stopped clocks are right twice a day etc
Eh, it's not July. Get them to France and they'll turn into clowns again.
Was totally stalking Rubio over at Procyclingstats, it was his b-day as well! What a day to remember ✌️
Interesting you mentioned this cause Carlton The Commentator was wishing Louis the South African a happy birthday as it was his birthday too. Shame is how GCN is always sucking off all the Brits or other white ex Brit nations E.g. Aussie riders on the peloton
@@ksadidar pretty sure Carlton noted it being Rubio’s birthday when he crossed the line.
Best cycling coverage on the interwebs. You have really increased my understanding of the sport and the tactics. I watch races now with much greater appreciation and anticipation.
If you told me 2 years ago that Movistar would be tactically perfect I would’ve laughed in your face but here we are
You'd still laugh, because you remember 2 years ago.
What's next? Ferrari?! 🤯
till rubio crossed the finish line i was thinking the video title would be sarcasm realrap
@@silvoslaf keep it real mate, come on
Early days this season. You'll have plenty of time to laugh yet.
You forgot to mention it was Rubio's birthday! 1st pro win on his bday at a world tour race that must have felt amazing
Looks like Yates might be running assos bibs with the strange straps at 2:25. Can see they're different to his teammate's there as well
Excellent tactics from Movistar. 🙃Never thought I’d say that…
Thanks. QS played that climb very well as you say. They had one goal which was to get Remco in the Red jersey and they did not care about Rubio winning so Remco would not pull hard until the final sprint for 2nd and the 6 bonus seconds. Great tactics. Kudos to Rubio who the GCN guys noted is looking for a contract and this was a great way to get noticed.
I think they'd have liked to take the win, but not with taking unnecessary risks. Without Vervaeke's and Serry's punctures, SOQ would have brought Rubio back imo, now they just missed the necessary strength.
On a finish where draft matters, why was Yates in the hoods trying to look 6'6 during the sprint? He's gotta be losing 50w to remco at the end there no?
Boy, we're going to be in for SOME season. All the big guns are healthy and ready to fire seems like, both in the Classics (MvdP, WvA, Pidcock) as in the Grand Tours (Vingeguard, Pogdacar, also Pidcock (?), Roglic and this new phenom Evenepoel!). Can't wait!
gracias excelente comentarios!
Thanks again for the content, excellent
at last!! I thought you were not going to have analysis on this stage.
chris horner said ineos shouldnt have pulled at all on the climb since remco is so superior. i think it was a good move, showing confidence in the young gc guy regardless of the outcome. it was great to see movistar get something so right with those two guys!
Saw the title, had to look for my fainting couch. What world do I even live in now?
Imagine having "Movistar" and "good tactics/ strategy" in the same sentence 3-4 years ago. But yeah, they have remembered (they won the tour 5 times) how to race bicycles smartly again.
UAE sponsors must be disgoosted with their team’s showing on home soil…I mean sand😐
Now that’s a title I never expected to see
That remco sprint
Absolutely agree, Movistar executed it perfectly to win the stage, taking advantage of other teams specially UAE that wasted efforts in non sense accelerations without any result.
Nice birthday present for Einer Rubio, cool...
Superclever move from Torres !
The best thing about his win is that it was Rubio's birthday
❤
It's almost as if Movistar and UAE have reversed roles in regard to their tactical prowess this year. I think that a lot of that is due to the fact that Valverde isn't on the team this year, giving other riders a chance to shine. Rubio looks a little like Miguel Angel Lopez on the bike, and hopefully he can achieve the same success or even more, minus the ridiculous and unnecessary drama that seemed to follow MAL.
I believe Jumbo should have challenged towards the end of this climb with Seppie just to see who has what.
is UAE's contract including the fancy watch?!
Movistar 'Tactically perfect' have those words ever been said in that order before?
Plapp is one to watch for the classics I reckon
Yates ready to send his shorts back to the shop if the chamois rubbed :D
Frustrating to see commissaires being so inconsistent when it comes to motor-pacing. Sierry was in the cars for way too long and then was able to do a huge pull later in the stage which likely impacted the outcome.
curious, how does one rookie or noobie get recruited by teams like Jumbo Visma?
the syringe test, if you cringe?, you're out🤣
Does Moviestar has new sport directors? Or Are the beginning to think?! In a post Valverde Time, that was necessary. Remco is going To win this over all. And the Giro, if Roglic Don't crash as he usually do.😜🔝❤️
Roglic doesn’t need to crash. Unfortunately his form isn’t there anymore, which was quite visible in Paris Nice last stage. During Itzulia which he lost and then of course in Vuelta where in all the mountain stages he failed to over climb remco who isn’t the best climber in the pro peloton. However, I will wish him to return at his best!
Rubio won on his birthday apparently **
i hate how remco seemingly has a sprint now. bad news for us remco haters. 14 seconds over the group was impressive, rubio was incredible.
He was building a base last year. By 2024 he will be a tdf contender
His sprint is still meh, Pogačar and Roglič smoke him
@@invisiblescout6335 You are literally naming the 2 most explosive climbers in the peloton, one of which can even beat Van Aert in a sprint after a harder race. If Remco needs to be compared with them, I'd say that is positive.
@@MDP1702 Higuita better, Martinez better, Wout Poels better, Valverde probably still better after retirement, Vlasov and Bilbao maybe better, Remco simply arrives to the uphill finish fresher than most guys, that's why he looks so strong. On the flat bonus sprints Plapp and Bilbao were way stronger.
@@invisiblescout6335 Maybe, we won't know untill he faces them. Valverde btw was also known as one of the most explosive climbers (5x flêche winner for godsake), so again, comparing Valverde to him is a good thing for Remco. Same for Higuita. I am definitely not certain Martinez is better after seeing how easily Remco dusted Yates etc. No way Poels is more explosive after a climb, not even sure in a flat sprint. Remco came ahead of Bilbao in the 2nd intermediate sprint, despite starting from much further back. He literally was making up ground on all the others closing a gap in echelon conditions. In the first intermediate sprint he didn't even contest, rather following them to avoid them getting away in another split and missing that move (like what happened at Algarve last week, though admittedly that was closer to the finish, but also without echelons)
I'm pretty sure this is one of the signs of the apocalypse...
That's Yates testosterone patch on his shorts, he's going to love you for pointing that out...
Perfect utilization of a tug buddy
'Tug buddy'? Is this Americanism?
@@JibbaJabber LR-ism
@@vetoland92 Ah Cool:)
Oh well, I guess Hell did freeze over...
Son of Durango Sepp Kuss is looking primed for an amazing year
Go Sepp! Much love ❤ from Tucson, AZ.
Maybe the sports directors at Movistar actually sat down and watched their Netflix show and, realizing what buffoons they are, decided to learn a little something about cycling.
As good a set up n finish as you shall see all season
Once Again...? Did'nt even know Movistar knew what tactics are, but ok. Q Viva Colombia...!
Well that’s a title I never thought I’d read.
Its a gel f^rom enervit.
subida desafiante.
Oh, i thought the title was a joke 😉
How can you say they had good tactics when they were using deep wheels on a 20k climb?
Wouldnt it be better if your title was “UAE tour stage 3 highlights: perfect tactics from Movistar”. Because now if you search KZhead for highlights your title doesn’t really stand out as the place to go
6:14 look how calm-faced Remco is while the others are grimacing to death! Something is totally wrong here. And we all know what it is!
Allegedly 😂
SavagePro You are so jealous of Remco Evenepoel because you can't be like that precious person 🤣 why poor, failed people like you always are so much jealous of lofty and overcome people like us? Best wishes from Norway where the rich any happy people live 👏👏👏 🇧🇻
@@mrmorrison5142 accusations, yes, we have to start somewhere😂
I’m so used to Movistar being so illogical that I genuinely assumed the title was sarcastic.
😆
Unbelievable! Same here.
First post, contaminated beef. The Pink Whistle strikes again
congratulations for being the first comment!! we will send your prize by mail
you have to be joking about those busted ass Bardiani kits
Movistar tactically perfect? This cannot be true.
how do you call a big hairy aussie cyclist, who loses contact to his group? dropbear!
This must be the most boring part of the race season. I have never looked at one of this races… they are just time thieves…
remco will get dropped somewhere in the giro. and i along with many others will be happy then ;)
Like he would get dropped in the vuelta right? He will take more time than he loses😁
Yep - near the finish by his train;)
