  • The tactical maturity Nys is showing at the age of 21 (Van Der Poel took much more to become wise under this point of view) projects him towards a future of great success...

    @sergiodemichele6295@sergiodemichele629511 күн бұрын
    • If you insist on projecting his future based on the MVDP comparison: it indeed took until about 27 before he got tactical maturity, but he was also blowing everyone away in CX already at age 20 based on his pure power, Nys is not doing that. And MVDP was winning RVV twice and lots of other big races before he was mature because of that pure power. But apart from that comparison, I do agree that he is looking good and mature, great breakthrough year.

    • @@rulifaller8474 I admire Mathieu, he was able to win lots of races despite his lack of "maturity" because of his incredible athletic strength, so my statement about Nys is not a critique ti Mathieu 🙏

      @sergiodemichele6295@sergiodemichele629511 күн бұрын
    • @@rulifaller8474 Competition in CX is far higher now than when WVA and VDP were neo-pro's. Neo-pro Mathieu wouldn't stand a chance against the VDP of today.

    • Don't understand why he looked back all the time. He lost the wheel of Buchmann that way. Not so tactical

  • Go Poels! Shame he isn't in their Giro team, I think he could have been a stage contender there for sure and he needs it for the trilogy.

  • Been there live the whole day. The atmosphere was unbelivable. Great race, and nice finish, to the whole tour.

  • Very impressed by Buchmann, I have to say. As a Bora fan I haven't been his biggest supporter, but here he looked really strong, haven't seen that in a long time. But like you guys said on the podcast, who knows if he would have shown that same form in the Giro, I'd say he isn't renown for being the best team mate/domestique. The anger about the exclusion proper fueled him I guess. Too bad he didn't win a stage.

  • Never seen Buchmann so strong since tdf 2019 and those stages didnt even suit him that much. A shame that he wasnt selected for the giro although there was definitely space in the squad.

  • I was out at different spots on Bárány street for the 3 laps. Proud to be from Pécs, I think the atmosphere was amazing, really a lot of people showed up. Also funny -or sad-, at the second lap at around ~2/3rds of the climb a Corratec rider was struggling hard behind the main group. Just as he reached our spot his team car caught up to him and gave out a sticky bottle. It was surreal to see, like 2015 vuelta with Nibali, they just pulled him up at 30kmh where other struggled going 15kmh.

  • Shame that Buchman is not on the Giro. If he is that good on these types of climbs he would be huge on the longer Giro climbs

  • Thibau said he was too focused on protecting the GC at the cost of the stage win, even dissapointed at that. It might be that he still had something left if he really went deep, but that the relief of taking back Buchmann and securing GC just caused him to not psuh for the sprint.

  • Hello from Belgium... I can say that nobody in belgium expected this good performance from Thibeau Nys and would win the tour of hungary. Even Sven Nys his father was verry supprized !. We Belgians know thibeau as a good Cyclocross rider . But if you look back a few years In the worldchampionship Nys became World champion on a roadrace in his age cathergory. So he skipt cyclocross races on his own age cathegorie and went imidiatly on his 18 to proffesional Cyclocrossraces; if you see Wout , Mathieu, merlier, pidcock, Thibeau Nys and quinten Hermans All came from Cyclocross and became big champions on roadraces ... BTW Nys is written with a Y but you spell his name with a IJ ... You would make him happy spelling his name like Thibeau Nijs ;-)
