In this episode, I meet Duk Duk, an insecure dog. His fear has caused him to lash out at people
"I will take a bite if it will save a dog's life."
We must give affection when the dog is in a calm surrender state!
It is important to not let your emotions get in the way.

  • We adopted a rescue dog named Poncho that was going to be put down because he was a biter. We took him in. He bit several family members. I didn’t know what to do. I learned and used the techniques that cesar teaches and it worked. Hes a totally different dog. We have had him about 6 years now. We love him so much. Im glad we didnt give up on him. Thanks Cesar. Even comments here wanting to know why this dog is fearful and what people have done to him.. is ridiculous because it makes no difference and feeling sorry for him is the worst thing to do.. which you have taught me. Just know there are people around the world who have adopted your techniques and help others have stable, happy and well adjusted dogs who are bullet proof.. and I love my dogs so much.. ❤

    • Cesar ur the best. Nobody does it better. Years ago I owned a dog grooming shop, I wound of specializing in "harder" to handle dogs. Now, there was no U, but I did do many of the things u do. I've always had a connection with animals & try to interpret the world the way they do. Trust me, it can b very different than what u think. This is why, I think u can do what u do so well. U just get it. As an avid animal lover , I thank God for u. I know there r people who think ur methods r too harsh. NO . I believe with u the correction fits the (crime), issue. A dog that tears up tissues is a long way from a dog that wants to eat u. The correction is much different. I know that if I loved my dog & he had biting issues I couldn't correct myself, no matter how u wanted to make the dog stop rather than putting him down would b ok with me. CESAR I KNOW WHAT UR DOING

    • You misspelled "abusive". You do not treat mistreatment by intrusive behaviour. This bite was intentionally provoked, which you can see in the body language. The man is imcompentent and knows nothing about dog training. not the first time he abused dogs. He blongs into prison, not TV.

  • I have had dogs all of my life and knew about dogs but since watching Cesar’s videos and the dog whisperer show, I have changed the way I am around dogs especially NOT TALKING so much and using body language and knowing how vital timing is for dogs to understand what we want.. Now my dogs are perfect and the bond is so much deeper because I think like a dog.. (kidding).. 😂 Cesar is the only person who pushes treating and respecting dogs for who they are and not putting human emotions onto dogs.. which most dog trainers do.. Honour dogs for who they are because they are not humans thank goodness.. 😂 A big plus is finding true happiness and I have, partly because being calm and stable around dogs is vital in establishing being the pack leader. Thank you CESAR.. I still miss Daddy.. ❤

  • Hi from Darcy Athena & myself! She’s my service dog & I wouldn’t have the calm, confident leadership to raise her from a baby into a phenomenal service dog without learning from you Cesar over the past 6-8 years. You gave me the foundation to get her started and keep up with being a pack leader to my amazing lifeline and forever SD Team member! Thank You! ❤😊 Our journey will continue as we become better, deepening our bond, and continuing to trust each other more! Trusting your SD is crucial when they give health alerts. I’ve learned not ignore her because she KNOWS her alerts are accurate. ❤ We have become examples & ambassadors for the service dog community in our area & wherever we travel. Business owners & others will complement her impeccable behavior & let us know that they can tell she’s legit compared to the badly behaved fake SD’s. It’s a promising sign that we can hopefully make a difference for other Service Dog teams so they don’t have so many issues with public access & lack of education about SD’s & ADA federal laws. Wishing you and your pack many amazing adventures and happy years together! ❤

    • Yes. I agree. I wish there were laws to weed out the fake service dogs 🐕‍🦺. I've seen so many aggressive or badly-behaved dogs that claim to be SD's but obviously aren't.

    • Love this comment! And for all of the people accusing Cesar of being bad, abusive, outdated & using methods that are harmful, you could NEVER accomplish training a service dog to that level & get all of the compliments that you get about her behavior! I am in need of a service dog & was seriously scammed by a trainer that had very good feedback. Messed all 4 of mine up in some way or another while taking a huge amount of cash for 1 month board & train. Since then,my 70 lb dog who's just rough & tumble, not aggressive, has torn my ACL & ripped the tacked up organs after major abdominal surgery. He wasn't even that rough before or rather he listened better & responded to a lot of commands better. Wish I had Cesar to help bc I can't do the training like I used to do & can't afford another one who probably won't work. Congrats on your SD! I know how much they mean, though mine haven't reached that level.

No credentials no certifications nothing he's just winging it tricking people. His pitbull killed queen latifahs dog. He's been filmed kicking dogs and he is legit cornering a terrified animal and blaming the dog for why he got bit. It's laughable.Brandon Mcmillian is ten times better.

  • As weird as it may sound, some animals and traumatized people, need to lash out like this as part of the healing process, as the ultimate expression of their fear and trauma. Trauma they are caught between trying to validate and hang onto, and invalidate and release. When you follow through with patience and kindness despite the outburst, like Cesar does here, they can feel on a deep level their fear is no longer valid and it's okay to build trust. The dog is desperate to be done with this, he just needs see that it's safe to begin recovery.

  • Wow! You did tremendous! I fostered a husky who was the same way. I wish i would have done these techniques with him.

  • I don't care what anyone says about "a real professional wouldn't do that" because anyone that's had a difficult dog knows that most "professionals" would've sued the owner and had this dog put down for a bite like that. Most professionals won't deal with aggressive dogs even if they say it's their specialty. Cesar not only accepts the risk of being bitten but he helps the dog overcome their fear which caused the bite in the first place.

    • I’ve noticed this with groomers as well. Most people don’t want to deal with aggressive dogs but people are also quick to judge a professional on how they deal with aggressive dogs.
