    • Exactly, when getting any animal, study what you are getting into first, or if you happen to rescue something study it too, if it decides it wants to live safely with you and give it the best possible home and vet care. Animals are expensive up keep, and also Veterinarians are the highest suicide rate of all careers. There is no pet over population in Canada or the United States, the rescues are bringing imported dogs from farmers of China, South Korea, and other countries where the pure bred dogs that would never be eaten as meat dogs are being advertised to pull on heart strings so these rescues can get exhorbitant funds that are being funnelled elsewhere and not the actual animals being imported by planes. I have imported my own pedigrees and let me tell you it doesn't cost that much to import a registered dog from a reputable breeder with papers and all it's health testing done and less than some pure bred that a farmer is not even using pedigrees or health testing or genetics. He's just got cages and these rescues are not shutting farmers down, they just keep the farmers going. So think about rescue and what it really is. If you can find one at your local shelter that's find, but don't fall for Retail Rescue, when you can import a real pedigree.

    • dogs play off of human emotion, if you are nervous that your dog is going to bite someone, it doesnt know why you are nervous it can only tell that you are nervouse, so chances are this dog may think that since his owner gets nervouse when his friends come around that the dog thinks he needs to protect his owner.

    • You don't need a yard to have a happy dog. A yard is just a lazy excuse for people that don't want to work with their dog according to its needs. If you work your dog right, enough and daily and build a relationship with it, even a small apartment is ok. It's when you get a working dog and don't work with it properly, then you get problems. They need enough mental and physical activity and a human to rely on to be happy. Don't get a working dog if you don't want to put it to work. I'm really sad about his collar. That must be uncomfortable.

Also, all dogs are grey wolves anyway just with 60,000 years of breeding out all the nasty stuff. Nice guys but when it comes to dogs, the owner is too consumed with cool/hard/biker aesthetic. Too many people get dogs just for appearances sake, whether its a girl getting a pom because it'll fit in a handbag or a dude getting a wolf to keep up a 'hard' appearance...

    • I have had Wolves and Wolf hybrids. They take a LOT of time, patience and understanding. They have to have the right place to live and a city isn't the place! I lived in the Mountains and my wolves ran regularly through old growth forests in the mountains. They went with me in turns into the wildreness areas too. There is a part of a Wold hybrid that you will NEVER EVER train! People dont realize the power and strength they have and the power and strength You the owner MUST HAVE if you need to stop a situation immediately. There is no such thing as a dangerous Wolf/dog, only a dangerous owner! And an aclimated Wolf Hybrid will guard and watch over a child like it was its own cub! They are fantastic! I ocasionally (when need arose) left my Alpha Wolf Hybrid with a friend who ran a day care. Anyone tries to harn the child they would have 140 pounds of solid Muscle, tooth, Claws and hair going for blood!! But yet sooooo gentle with the children! He would run leaps and bounds up to a child (happy to play) 30 miles an hour and stop just before impact and gently nudge the child to pet him! It was so amazing!

    • I hate this show. It’s misleading it’s never a quick fix to turn a dog around. Been in the business, a long time. We have had our share of what we label.....project dogs. We break them down to basic training. First, we isolate. They only see us. After a week alone in kennel giving food/water. We begin interaction and hand fed the dog. Develops trust and teaches the dog their survival is in our hands. We are alpha. Leader of the pack. Then the real hard training begins. We use firm gentleness. There is never a reason or need to abuse an animal. A true trainer knows how to get in the dogs head. I am an Indigenous woman and use art of gentling. It’s how we trained our ponies. The dogs are rewarded and praised for correct behavior. They hate to leave us. A few come back for visits or boarding. They are happy and so are we. We are writing a book on our methods.

  • Cesar understands dogs so well. Love watching him. My friends called me Cesar for a laugh as I was known as the dog man. I rescued a bull terrier 23 years ago and up until 2015 had her and three of her descendants all running free alongside me on the bike. They all came to work and had their own seats in my transit minibus I had for building. It all ended a couple of years back with my neighbors fire that killed the granddaughter. The children have the great granddaughter after my split with their mother. I’m about to do it all again. I’ve rescued a beautiful ginger brown staffy. She had been given no love. I’m her fourth owner in her short 18 month. She came with scars that look like bites. She dare not eat her food. Couldn’t take her off her lead as she would fight and I also couldn’t make any sudden movements around her. She was broken. 18 months on and I’m looking for a dog to father her pups. She’s healthy. Off the lead. She’s loving , she’s friendly. She’s happy and living a beautiful life. My molly.
