Why You Can't Mess with the Bradley Fighting Vehicle

2024 ж. 4 Мам.

This is not simply a "battle taxi". The Bradley Fighting Vehicle is a sophisticated weapons platform capable of providing tremendous firepower in direct support of the Infantry it carries. The role of the Bradley is to Safely transport Infantry to critical locations on the battlefield, Provide fire support to cover their dismounted operations, and Destroy enemy tanks and other vehicles that may threaten the Infantry it carries.

    • Yes .. agreed.. but do you think these will be used on chinese mainland ... I can’t see them getting there because massive logistics and supply lines... I also don’t see China on us soil. I do though see them perhaps on Taiwan soil but there is also massive logistics there too, so,don’t think so But I see the Chinese eventually getting their tanks on Aussie soil .. we have vast open spaces. We need to prepare now because you know what, the bastar.d Chinese are creating a diversion .l they won’t try Taiwan yet, it’s a smokescreen, they will cop some military hurt there. So they will go for the big prize , we in Australia first. So we need to get the us to send to our north 100s of Bradleys , ditto,for Abrams tanks and hundreds of F15 jet EX jet fighters which I understand are excellent .. aside from nuclear equipped carriers . So you can’t do that until the physical infrastructure Is there to house them etc etc .. it’s a massive job, but the us must do this work in Aus .. it will cost 100 billion but it would be a big deterrent etc etc I READ THAT DEFENCE EXPERTS SAY THAT CHINA WILL LOOK FOR A WEAK LINK, AND PLACE WHERE THERE IS ROOM AND FOOD ETC. TAIWAN DOESNT PROVIDE THAT .. AND THE TAIWANESE WILL HURT CHINA IN A CONFLICT EXPOSING THEM TO A FRIGHTENING ATTACK FROM THE US WHICH WILL SINK THEM FOREVER ..

    • @@wolfgangjr74 I agree .. it was an emotional comment I made to send 100s of tanks to Taiwan. You'd have to say now though that because of the very large military ' activity' in the South China Sea, the chance of a mistake or a reaction might lead to war. It's becoming an increasingly likely eventuality. The tasks now for the world, in response to China's flagrant belligerence and its predisposition to make enemy after enemy, it's emerging military hubris, is reason for the G7 and other nations to build more deterrents, some of these visible and powerful, eg in Australia's north, and for the world to begin to plan and develop a list of all exports from China, start making products themselves and eventually do what China is doing, holding some nations to mercy and random , eg Australia and weakening very much their economies. Viz strangle China economically.. that will hurt .. but it will hurt China even more .. yes it will take 10 years and it will require extraordinary purpose, resolve and cooperation , but it must be done to send out a powerful message, hurt our friends and together we'll hurt you .. Food security is emerging as a world threat, particularly in China, so massive boycotts of world food exports to China is one of the tasks .But it can't be one or two countries against China, it must be many. We are not far from that point now. China seems extraordinarily confident about its military might now, and that is already a serious threat right now.

      @pragmatist165@pragmatist1652 жыл бұрын
    • @@pragmatist165 Don't take China seriously with their threats on Taiwan. Even they aren't dumb enough to try something dumb like that not to mention they are smart enough to know they will not have the logistics to even start thinking of war with Taiwan. What China wants is stability as that is what keeps the current status-quo and war will most definitely cause enough instability to collapse from internal pressures.

  • My dad was in the 1-5 CAV and he was a Bradley gunner in Iraq at around 2010 or '11, and one time some insurgents hit one of their MRAPs, so their commander sent out every single vehicle, including Bradley's, and they just started firing out into the darkness. They weren't sure if they got them.

  • Check out the movie, "The Pentagon Wars" starring Cary Elwes and Kelsey Grammer. Sort of a satirical view of the development process involving the Bradley fighting vehicle. Originally starting as a troop carrier and then all the Congressmen and Senators and generals kept making change requests that increased its weight, making it slower, and its weaponry, making it a target of antitank weapons, and less able to carry troops, which was what it was supposed to do in the first place.

    • Pentagon wars is a fictional bunch of shit based on a nonsense book by a quack who thinks the M113 is the perfect vehicle even fit to be a plane, and that planes don't need radar or missiles. If the Bradley is so shit, why does the world keep building vehicles that look so much like it? Rheinmetall Lynx and Puma, Hanwha K21, the British Griffon, the BMP 21, the list goes on. Pentagon wars assumes it was a replacement APC like the M113, it isn't. It's designed to keep track with tanks and support them by flushing out entrenched infantry, which are a threat to MBTs

    • @@tinyplaidninjas8868 almost. The m113 guy is Mike Sparks, and he’s a complete lunatic. The guy behind The Pentagon Wars is James Burton, who decided that the best way to test the Bradley’s durability was to load it with all its fuel and live ammo before hitting it with missiles designed to kill T-80s.
