1. Use at least 1 light source. LOW light, not NO light... 2. Use backlight, edgelight, sillhouettes 3. Properly expose your subject's midtones 4. Use a wide aperture
"Allow your shadows to be shadows.." YES YES and YES!!! Great video Landon!
Chris! Love your channel. I'd almost given up on my XT-2 before I came across your videos. Great work man.
@@vitaminq4348 Thank you so much Nqobani!!!!!!
A) Use a camera with a bigger sensor B) Use a lens with a wider aperture C) Use a lower resolution camera for larger pixels
That.s the key to get Professional quality pictures also use class 10 sd card and clean the camera sensor

Lol true. Can you tell me the music name which is in the start?
hahahaha
Exactly...Khaby Lame should see this🤲😂😂
I cringed.
Thank you Landon and the rest of the full time filmmaker team for making this video. I have been commenting for months for a video like this and I'm even taking a class that broadly covers this. You are the best Landon for getting back to comments on the KZhead community!
Hi, guys! I just want to say "Thank you!". Not only for this particular video, but for the whole content of yours, that you've dedicated all this time to present. You are absolutely amazing for the creators out there like me, who are far away from being absolute professionals. You've helped me a lot and actually saved me plenty of unnecessary expenses that I was going to have, if I've never trusted your judgement first. So, again, I've just wanted to say "Thank you!" to all of your team for the endless knowledge you gave us and you keep on giving! You're an absolute guideline and a truthful beacon for the creators globally, doesn't matter the part of the planet they are coming from!
So much good info packed in one video. Fulltime filmmaker is the place to be.
Ever since I love all Parker's videos, I can't wait to join the course and learned from the professionals
Reading the title in a different way will leave you with a meaning of how to assassinate lol.
Great tips! Love how you made the effort to do both AB-rolls from the same scene, adds a nice presence for the viewer to feel part of it.
Parker, I must say that my Drone & Photography Business has improved 10X more because of your teachings! Thank you for all you do!

Absolutely beautiful, tbh though, all the "video" content creator on youtube are so talented and your tips are extremely helpful to us amateurs, thank you!

Tip #5 is a nice trick I use for Real Estate Videos! 80% makes a pretty significant difference. Great stuff!
Incredible I just watched this video as I have always been interested in filming but never really motivated myself to try various filming out of my comfort zone until recently. I had to subscribe to you after watching this it helped me alot.
I had to learn this for my KZhead channel. But now I know how to do it with clients too! Lighting videos from your channel have been the most important in my growth on youtube and my film career ❤❤❤
lol I don't know why people try thirds hard when the markets too saturated...
@@vegasvibrance9393 I don't think it's saturated enough!!!!

Fantastic, great guys!
Thank you so much. Just bought my new M50 this month (my first camera) was definitely facing problems in low light. Thanks for the tips..🙂
Same here! M50 crew...
Great tips!!! I struggle to shoot wildlife in the rainforest especially under thick canopy... Thanks 😊
This is so informative! Thank you.
Thanks man. This is so helpful.
You forgot to mention to use your damn waveform monitor, histogram, light meter or better yet a combination of all 3. The 1st two are usually built into the cameras menu. Also doing a black balance (depending on camera’s functionality) make a world of a difference. Also invest in a color checker card for accurate color, whites and blacks. And last tip. Do camera tests Before production to find out your camera’s limitations in low light and just stay within those parameters, adding light when necessary. Damn, I feel like a FullTime Filmmaker instructor, giving all this knowledge for free 😝
I was looking for this video 👏👏👏
Great video 👍🏻 I tried last weekend some night shoots with my FX6 and it was really funny 😄
Amazing video and great tips, thanks!!
I agree!!
that was really awesome!!!
Great tips! I’ve been filming in a log profile on my BMPCC6K for everything so I’ll have to start shooting in a regular profile for low light stuff.
If you ever actually entered the film industry, you'd be slapped across the face by every filmmaker in history for even entertaining the notion that shooting in anything other than the flattest image possible is a good thing. You're doing nothing but hurting yourself like that. You're giving yourself even less flexibility in post so that the look of your footage can be decided for you, which is often much worse than what you can achieve by yourself? Stick to shooting home videos because filmmaking by worsening the capabilities of cameras like the Pocket 6K is a waste of money
You nailed it like always 👌🏽
I love parker videos 💕
Great yoir idea Parker.... thanks a lot Mate
Very helpful guys!
What a nice tips ...thank u man 👌
Thank you for this informative video it helps a lot .
My whole setup was built around low light filming, so I'm glad you recommended the 1.4 Sigma primes, as my 24, 50, and 85 are all Sigma 1.4 primes for my A7III. lol
Solid video, thanks!
Thanks for this piece needed it..
Thanks for the info. Great for our short horror film this year!
Nice... soon I'll have my hands on a a6600. Definitely I will try some of these tips!
Very informative and even more aesthetically appealing :)
Super easy and useful tips!
"choose a camera that's good in low light", damn that's a pro tip right there
Might as well said make sure your camera cost at least 3000 dollars
@@SR_PRODUCTIONS No, many cameras under $3,000 are good in low light, just not DSLRs. They generally suck for anything video until you reach the mid thousands in price
actually yes thats a good tip. some cameras can be bad in low light, usually old cameras. also generally sony affordable cameras are better in low light than other affordable cameras, unless you go higher priced then theyre about the same in low light.
Wow thanks, I just got the cannon EOS 5D Mark IV , this video really helps
For the in camera noise reduction, do you kind of consider this an all or nothing situation and either don't use it at all, then have it on high for low light? Does having this on all the time effect low iso video? Will you set it to low or medium for middle range iso like 800-1600? This is a setting I think I turned off when I first got my 80d but will definitely be doing some of my own tests to see what works best for me now too! One other thing I do is will leave a frame rate at 60 but then also drop the shutter speed down to 60, I know this breaks the 180 rule but for little motion footage the extra blur isn't always noticeable, also if I decide only to slow this to 80% on a 24fps timeline then it visually appears like 30fps 60shutter anyway, giving a little more flexibility to decide at point of edit. Thanks FTF team, massive fan here.
i'm a beginner and i didn't realise frame rate affected the light! thanks for this
This video is AWESOME
I was low key waiting for this one haha
Landon and his tips are always 🔥🔥🔥. Still waiting for that studio tour Landon!

Awesome video. Easy sub, your channel have some great content and I'll work my way through it.
Cool tips ! Thanks !
Good to know I'm in good company liking to shoot everything at 60fps! 😂
Same here. You're not alone.
Just make sure you interpret your footage to 24, or slow down some shots.
Awesome tips! Thanks for the video guys! Appreciate your work! Even filming inside with artificial lighting is hard, cuz the image is either too dark or has a lot of grain with higher ISO. But these tips are great!
Amazing tips bro
Awesome content dude
Thanks for the tips
Great content.
Look's like Very Cool cinematic!
Damn, that was super insightful!
Awesome tips sir thank u 🙏
Finally someone that understands that fuzzy low light thing
Great tips!
Amazing tips
While every camera and LOG profile is different, LOG usually does not introduce more noise. You can always bring those shadows back down in post if you record in LOG and you'll still get more information for the highlights. Gerald Undone has done a great video about exactly that and shown that LOG profiles do not cause noise.
great .. thank you so much
Parker u are the best bro❤👌🏻
great stuff. filming a night shot soon
