Great video Jason. Very helpful
Really loving this series. Thank you!
Wow! Amazing teacher 👏🏼❤️
Great video and very.he;pful for a beginner, thanks. Love how your videos have a great mix of valuable info & humour!
Super dope! thanks for all of this great info!!
you are in my time im learning thanks bro
Thank you.. This video is much more informative.. Keep it up.
Timely upload! I was figuring out how to master utilizing shutter speed 😂. Thanks!
Congratulations! Amazing vídeo!
Great video, thanks for all your knowledge! i subbed so ill continue to watch and learn!
Thanks, I have been watching your videos and really appreciate your work and passion.
I like this approach not telling the audience you just need to learn this thing but actually delving into specifics. Great video Jason!! 👏
Great explanation video. Subscribed
Thanks for sharing this great info
As a person in their 70s with slight hand tremors I shoot in shutter priority to get sharp photos. I like to keep it 1/125 or faster. Yup, my ISO/noise can get up there. We do what we have to do.
With how good AI denoising is nowadays, it's not even that big an issue anymore.
@@AnnualDegree99 Yes, Topaz Denoise and Sharpening have salvaged more that a few photos for me.
I have a question, im 20, starting out on photography, I have a 2008 canon xti camera, do you know what I can do to get better shots at night? I only have 1600 ISO, i try my best to never use 1600 because its extremely grainy
this was awesome
Thanks!
Great vid, thank you! I enjoyed the way you explained shutter speed vs the other videos on the same subject. It kept me engaged the entire video.
very happy to hear that, thanks Edward!
This video and previous are great and valuable information especially as a beginner. Look forward for your next video of ISO. Keep up the good work and continue making great content.
appreciate the kind words!
wow thanks for those tips and informations
I just got my first "real" camera two days ago and this is the first video of the many I've watched in the last couple days that so clearly explained exactly what I was messing with when moving various dials on my camera and what I was actually doing with those changing numbers. Thank you, looking forward to checking out more of these basics videos as I fumble my way through learning to be a hobby photographer (that hopefully still does a good job at it!).
Loving this series!
Happy to hear that, thanks Lidia!
I love you vid it helps me alot, also i like when u use the cat as a subject
I am a working pro stills photog and being a fan of your videos and style for many years, I listened through it while working, even though I know all this stuff. This was so fun and clear and easy to understand. Cameras are easy to pic up, pics are easy to mess up and this fun style gives anyone a chance to understand and have more control. Awesome video. I get asked all the time to teach but I will send them this video instead.
Makes me very happy to hear! Thanks Simon! 😁
Brother, tons and tons of love from India. Love you brother, I was struggling for weeks to learn ISO, SHUTTER SPEED, APPETURE & this video was like a master class for me,🙌🙌🙌.
Next time you come to Switzerland let me know bro 🤙🤙
I'm starting photography as a hobby and this guy is just amazing! Thanks man!
glad to be of help!
Great 👍
Great video man. Keep it up
Thanks, will do!
you are the Man!
Now i know! ISO Vong!!
Hello watching from Qatar
great video. Keep up the good work Jason. Quick question on the accessories regarding the Sony mount holding the external/phone. Can you share what they are as they are not included in your main website.
I made a "Shorts" on it if you wanna find it on my main channel page under the Shorts Tab. The title should be "how I use my phone as a monitor" I would link it but KZhead flags any comments with links 😫
Hi for long exposure during the day you need a ND filter?)
"The Vong is never wrong"😂 Subbed just for that. Very clear explanations too man, you're a good teacher
Welcome aboard!
Nice !
✌
How appt! Was exploring slow shutter video shooting with my a6700 trying to achieve the Wkw effect 😅
In the Mood for... Slow Shutter Speed 🤣
The ibis on the A7R5 makes up for slow shutter speeds 😊.
love me that 8 step IBIS!
This. Is. A. Really. Great. Video.
thanks so much!
How do you set the shutter speed to be doubled or remain constant on a zoom lens when zooming.
How do you get rid of 'sel.focus point on/off' always popping up on screen on Sony a7Cii ?
Question about ISO, in video using the native 12800 on A7S3 is a lot better than using 8000, does this apply to photos too or no? - also considering 640 and 12800 are native is there a bit difference between 640 and 12800 with a quality ND filter in output photo and video quality?
Brilliant 😂😂
Even so most of most of us will primarily shoot on Aperture Priority. Shutter is most important for me when filming
Please make a video Xperia photo pro app
Can u make video for 70-200 2.8gmii vs sigma new70-200 2.8 plz what should I choose
Wow i didn't know they rule of thumb was doubles for apsc! I always did hand-held at focal length
If that has been working for you, then keep at it! Cameras are so good nowadays that the handheld rule can be bend a lot! However, I know some people out there are using older gear so I am suggesting doubling the shutter as a good safety measure!
❤❤❤❤❤
I always assumed Shutter priority was the most used right after Aperture priority. I flip to it often. Especially in lowlight.
We need a Video of a tutorial for flash photography! ⚡️
Man I haven't shot with flash in so long! I might have to team up with someone!
Thank you Vong…quick question, what app do you use to monitor your composition via your phone? Does it work for all cameras? Thank you once again
I'm using the XPERIA PRO in the video here and the device has a microHDMI connection! The app is External Monitor which is native to the Sony Xperia phones
How are you liking the Sony A7cR? Hope you do a full review as I am in two minds whether to go for one and change from my Fuji gear
I LOVE IT! But I don't shoot all 61MP. I dropped it to 26MP. I only shoot 61MP for landscapes/cityscapes.
I love to see someone actually using the Sony Xperia Phones as an external monitor for the Sony cameras! Is it just connected via USB-C?
Yes! Most recent XPERIA phones with USB-C can be an external monitor for Sony cameras but has a slight delay. The one I'm using is the XPERIA PRO which is unique in that it has a microHDMI connection. Near 0 delay and it's what I use to record my camera screen for my tutorials!
Hi Jason! In a sunny beach with static scene, what setting do you prefer?: ISO 50 1/2000 shutter, ISO 100 1/4000 or put ND Filter and take lowest ISO with less speed? Are the 3 the same?
Depends what you're capturing! If it's portraits on the beach, you can do the two high shutter settings you've mentioned! I wouldn't recommend ND as it does degrade the image quality slightly! BUT! if you are capturing the water of the beach (like you see in my waterfall photo in this video) use the ND Filter to smooth out the water! Hope this helps!
@@JasonVong Very helpfull! Thank you 💪🏻❤️🙌🏻👏🏻
Thank u so muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :*
you're welcome!
👍
Jason Vong is back people!!!
Now we just need that1camera guy back! 🎉
@@SPDTDL true that!
Honey, Jason Vong just uploaded a new youtube video.
😅
😂
How did you connect your phone to your camera and use it as a monitor
The phone is a bit unique... 😅 It's the XPERIA PRO with a microHDMI connection!
@@JasonVong you able to do a quick little video on how you done it
@@Aitchy4skin It's so hard to link through KZhead comment but I posted it as a shorts if you go to my channel and find the Shorts tab 😭
Hello 👋
Thanks Jason I watched this video 50 times 😂
Thank you for being the backbone of my channel!! Please watch 500,000 times!! 🤣

If only. Then maybe my parents would be proud that I'm a doctor 🤣
I am struggling with these ...
You talk as if you're in a anime :D
I hope that's a good thing or it's Baka Mitai for me
Nah nah, it's not my shutter speed, it's my lens 😭
I mean I didn't wanna say it... 🫣
Hey! Why are well established YTbers (ie: you) suddenly doing these 'Photography 101' videos? There's already 100's of Shutter Tutorial videos... Cheers!
Aside from Captain Disillusions' video on Shutter Speed, which was phenomenal and the best explanation from a technical standpoint, I haven't seen much other shutter speed videos recently. It's a topic I saw that was not covered as much as it's not as popular as aperture 😅
Everyone’s KZhead suggestions are different, this is the only shutter speed video that YT kept suggesting me… and maybe you’re seeing more all thanks to the algorithm lol
I'm a complete amateur and found the video super helpful! Maybe it's aimed at newer viewers like me?
I have seen a couple but I love how Jason explains things and makes it easier to understand for people that are just starting out
I mean...if it's not your topic - just scroll down. And yes, there are many reasons "why" for a regular content creator.
Welp this video could been 30 seconds long. Use aperture priority simple
