The dichotomy of man, he spent the first few seasons convincing us that producer Drew was real, and now even he questions his existence
Steve, you've reprimanded goalies for leaving the net, but Grubauer raised an imoortant question: What about when the net leaves the goalie?
Hockey divorce and the net takes the goals away cuz it goes through and no one notices
THE PENGUINS SCORED ON THEIR OWN NET AGAINST THE DEVILS!!! HOW DID YOU MISS THAT!!
its probably a hatpick for the devils cause it wasn't them.
No love to the devils
that never happened
They scored on themselves TWICE in one game!
@@carrietobin1515 mhm
The fact a song with “what’s going on” was playing in the background of the net incident, perfectly represents the announcers’ reaction to it lol
You about killed me with your description of how a fight starts. The black white striped man... 🤣 🤣 🤣
Mark Moser and Peter Mcnabb have been hilarious. Mark Moser was a radio announcer for the Avs for the longest time before he got promoted to TV. He has calmed down since being on TV but his call when the Avs won 2-1 in a playoff game against the Preds was the best ever. Very good to watch. I love these guys.
Moser and McNabb are a constant hat-pick, in my (not at all biased) opinion they're the best local casters in the NHL
@@Miqz0 i agree. I live on Canada in Calgary area. I would rather those two then sportsnet or TSN
@@Miqz0 I love Mose and Mcnab, the amount of dumbass comments you see on here about them being as bad as Jack Edwards... I mean just whut?
GUTS ALL OVER THE PLACE
@@wintermute9000 They are biased but they are so wholesome omg. Sometimes its worth to watch a losing game just for their hilarious comments, its like a comedy show inside a hockey game
How about Taylor Hall's first game as a Bruin last night. Third Period (I think, may have been OT), he chases a puck in to the corner, and instead of defending, both Sabers players catch an edge and fall on their asses. Not only funny, not only a Dang-it, but also a good summing up of the Sabers' season.
Best part of the Sabres clip is the announcer, the sound of defeat in his voice
Fun fact, when the Sabres did the 10 men on the ice thing.....there were more men on the ice than wins; that was back when they were still at 9
Also worth mentioning, the Capitals had 7 players out there and they were on the penalty kill.
@@eriklausen374 True- though I don’t think the penalty was so much for the 10 guys with 9 right next to the bench as that they actually sent 6 guys back out. Pause it right at the end- 5 guys in the zone and 1 skating across center ice
The notes on the screen from Drew are always funny. Would always like to see more!!!
Both Steve and Simon Whistler have sharp editors when it comes to funny things like that.
@@TheEDFLegacy what a comparison, smash the dislike button
Being a European fan makes Dang it vids more accessible than watching actual hockey 😂
That's a dang it
@@grantzahara9998 Or a hat-pick
nhl66
Nhl 66 search it up
@@grantzahara9998 great comment grant chara
the 10 guys isn't the issue.. it's the 6 that leave that group and continue to play
Funny how sometimes people making their living on hockey know so little about the rules...
yeah we all know that, even Steve but its a comedic video so he's gonna say 10 which there were.
no, only 5 left the bench. the issue was there was one who didn't come back in
“Producer Drew would have scored that!”
Bouncing pucks are such a nightmare. "That was an easy lob! Why didn't you stop it?" "BECAUSE A PUCK AIN'T ROUND, CHARLIE!"
"I'm not a driving instructor either but I know it's harder to do FROM THE BACK SEAT!" Best dang-its quote ever bar none
3:31 This was so funny cause I love seeing goalies leave their nets and Steve ranting at them 🤣🤣🤣
“...just empty the bench.” My ribs still hurt!
That joke with Steve Yzerman at the end was very very good; gave me a hearty chuckle 🤗
“we have to wait for the black and white striped men go wheeeet”
Can we please get a compilation video of Steve yelling about goalies (not) staying in their net?!
That would break youtube's video length limit.
2 seconds in and I'm already dead
"if you're a goaltender, tend the net!" Listening to Steve say this is like listening to a guy who has never played as a goaltender... Oh wait. Ya it's a "dang it" when it goes wrong but let's not act like every time a goalie plays the puck it a bad thing.
It's like Red Green always said: "The handyman's secret weapon, duct tape."
"If they don't find you handsome atleast be handy".
" I am a man... but i can change... if I have to... I guess"
this is by far the best dang it’s yet. All the references to other videos things, the little skit with bernier and yzerman, all the added comedy is just fantastic
You know when your officials are not professionals when your Level 1 Rec hockey referee training says, "Use the skate strings, you dope!" Maybe it doesn't fit in their pockets. I don't know.
Sportsnet having videos that it's fun and normally civilized to read the comments. That's a hat pick.
I love you, Steve! Thanks for making the videos and the laughs. Much appreciated!
I always love listening to the avalanche altitude commentary. Never gets old to me.
I can't find the clip, but last week Anze Kopitar missed a WIDE open wraparound, and his reaction afterwards was 100% dangit. Should be here.
That 1st Hellebuyck save is how I tend to get scored on when playing a goalie in NHL video games :P
honestly on the first one, even though samsonov turned it over that was still a pretty damn good shot tip play. Even if that was just a regular play without the turnover thats a tough shot to save.
As a Rangers fan, the Legendary Difficulty made me laugh.
And possibly cry? 😅😳
@@TheEDFLegacy cry? Nah. No reason for me to cry. I'm not the one who missed the open net. Frustration, yes but not to cry over.
Same here
I was watching that game live, only thing I could really do was laugh
@@maroonMaverick I was listening on the NHL app at work and all I could do was throw my head back and go "Really?"
00:11 “Steve’s oopsies”
Things around the NHL that aren't quite Dang-Its, but still not Hat Picks Premiering next Thursday, hosted by Steve Dangle STEVE'S OOPSIES
That Samsonov give away gave me heart palpitations. Its never good when a goalie hesitates with the puck behind the net.
I reffed football for 23 years. I had zipties in my kit. Came in handy fixing chains on several occasions.
I love it when Producer Drew throws shade. But between PD and Adam & Jesse, I think Steve has enough shade to create a solar eclipse.
As a Redwings fan that last little bit cut deep! Keep up the good work.
Sorokin trying to direct a soft shot into the corner with his blocker but after it hits his blocker instead of bouncing into the corner it bounces off the back end of his stick shaft and into the net. I’m kind of shocked that wasn’t in this video since it was such a weird thing. Steve, you gotta put it in next week’s Dang Its,nobody is gonna be mad that it’s from the wrong week.
I think the Sabers were given the chance to make their 10 person line change, but once they completed it you can see that there were 6 men on the ice when the goalie passed the puck off from behind the net, which is when the whistle was blown.
White zip tie. White ice. Most zip ties aren't designed for sudden high impact stress.. And then someone skates over it, crashes into the boards and is out for a month. D'oh! At least use a black zip tie. Or, like Steve probably would agree, have some sort of repair kit that is meant for this purpose. Heck, I think I'll come up with one myself.
Moser and McNabb are hilarious. Zip ties and Duct Tape classic. I was at that game and had no idea that was the problem with the net. I don't think that was a dang it. Maybe he should do announcers dang it's. I think it's also funny that the Avs-Arena plays "Whats going on" when there is a delay on the game.
I'm gonna be honest, Sabourin and Lucic picking up their equipment like two kids being forced to clean their room is wildly more entertaining to me than their fight.
not sure why I lost it laughing at, "if you get called for 'too many men on the ice' just empty the bench" but yet here we are
I think it was calgary (or maybe vancouver) after getting a penalty for too many men decided "ah heck, we'll just keep the 6th man on" and then when they finally touched the puck they got 4 minutes instead of 2.
@@reaganharder1480 Vancouver did it against the Jets but they only got 2 minutes for the first one - which the Jets scored on. Then, Canucks took exact same penalty, like 3 minutes later, which resulted in another 2 minutes - which the Jets also scored on... -_- *sigh* Canucks....
@@mandy543 and it was Andrew Copp who scored on both of those powerplays too.
Oh yah that gave me the giggles for some reason too
14:07 And indeed Jon Merrill got traded to another team. Yzerman’s words did not lie. 🤣🤣
Surprised you missed that Erne hit that ended up with the preds down a man.
Sorokin had a puck go off his blocker, the butt of his stick, and into the net... tending the goal is so much harder when your equipment is out to get you
What's the name of the song at 12:36? Love this series, you're to funny steve
Bernier : "ITS A PADDLE SAVE HAT PIC--- Dang it."
The real dang-it is that the Sabres would’ve probably gotten away with it if they hadn’t _still_ had six skaters on the ice _after_ the line change.
I love me a good zip tie. Lol Great vid!
The hockey player's secret weapon: Duct Tape!
Quick got a REALLY unlucky bounce off Pacioretty's lob last night. Completely took the wind out of the King's sails and they ended up pulling Quick out of net for it.
does anyone have stats for line change efficiency? that would be really interesting to look at
The best part of the broken net "dang it" is the some in the background..."What's going on..."
just happy to hear about the Wings :’)
6:46 lmao
The fact that the goal on hellebuyck off the glass was identical to another goal. Jets vs Canadians earlier this year. That is definitely dangit worthy
I actually think the Habs are deliberately trying to find that deflection that Byron scored on Hellebuyck with. That's the second time I've seen that exact play this season, and I'm pretty sure I saw it last season too. Pretty smart if true.
I’m a duck tape guy 😂😂 that’s so good
I was watching the caps flyers game live and audibly said dang it
I was watching too but I said something a little saltier than “dang it”
I hope to see Joe B in hat picks. Complete and utterly would be justified. The man is a consummate professional and to go to work and call some games whilst still going through the grieving process at the loss of his mother is truly a showing of mental fortitude beyond belief.
8:20 That is one of the most savage roasts that has come out of Steve's mouth
Soon as I saw that goal (the Monreal one) against Hellebuyck, I knew it would be in dangits
Moser and McNabb have become my favorite part of watching hockey
thank you for not including the bruins getting absolutely obliterated by the capitals
You NEED to address the goal review that changed a goal call, that was then challenged, and was changed back to no goal. One of the most bizarre sequences of calls this year.
There was a "duck duck goal" in the avs vs ducks game
Buffalo with their 11 players out on the ice at the same time just freaks me out almost. One climbing over the bench with his skate on the ice still, 8 guys next to the bench, you could count Dustin Tokarski, the Goalie, and then whos ever on the other side of the ice. That's 5 guys that shouldn't be out on the ice at one time.
back in the day, linesmen used to carry twine to tie up holes in the net
I think the play from the Avs/Coyotes game on 4/12, where it was no goal, then a goal, then no goal. All with absolutely no clear angle of the puck in the net, and the entire thing took the refs 10 minutes to go through, when they should have just stayed with the call on the ice. 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back, and a major ref dang-it!
How about the Double coaches challenge in the avs and coyotes game that lasted over 10 mins
The Buffalo/Washington one, 10 Sabres AND 7 Capitals plus the Goaltenders on the ice.
"Upupdowndown!!!"
2:57 that was the 2nd time this season that happened in Montreal the first time was march 6th
Producer drew should make a "Steve's screams" compilation to prove he exists!
Dang Steve, good to see you took some advice and started zooming out on that banger face of yours.
Last season: The devils. This season: Goalies.
The biggest dang it this season is my dad sadly passing away friday morning, April 9th, 2021....at age 57
🙏
Can’t wait to see de’smith on hat picks!
I use skate lace to fix holes in the netting
I've watched enough of these videos that when I saw that Bernier play live my first thought was "Hat Pick to Dang It in .05 seconds"
I think they drop the puck to begin play and blow the whistle to stop it Steve. LOL
Bruh Steve talking about Jake Paul. Never thought I’d hear that
The first time I counted the Sabres error, I completely missed the guy on the other side of the ice. Side note. I think you need to workshop that Skater thing a little better.
6:45 LOL
I thought for sure that weird goal from Trocheck vs Florida would be on here
13:54.....member doin' this playin' Mortal Kombat growin up LoLz Noooooooooooo!?!? you make me laugh steve, thanx man
Jake Allen featured on a Dang-it but it's not his fault and in fact he made a great play. My heart bleeds blue for him here in STL.
The amount of times, my buddy has ripped his bumper off and used zip ties to put it back on is ridiculous. The last time I saw his truck I think he still had the zip ties on
As a goalie the saying for defensemen is "Don't make bad passes in front of your own net"
:23 ahhahahah i was literally thinking about you when i watched this live Ilya and i was telling my dad about the leaving the net and about your vids #ALLCAPS
Ten players you would think that the coach would tell them to go on and off the ice
Best thing about Merrill one: "lol bye I was traded for a 5th round pick enjoy the misery boys"
I believe the Penguins had too many men on the ice in the second period of the NJD game on 4/11 that was never mentioned in the broadcast and never called on the ice as a penalty. Sam Lafferty was the sixth skater that rushed off. It was about 10 or so seconds before he left the ice.
Ullmark had a paddle save. A rare good thing for the Sabres!
Missed a couple of Dang-its in the Knights vs Kings game on the day of upload, of course. Goal off Whitecloud's skate and Pacioretty scoring on a dump in
This video was literally uploaded hours before the game started. The Pacioretty goal will be in next weeks dangits. The white loud one was just unlucky. Don’t think it’ll be included
I was saddened that there wasn't a Ken Watanabe, Godzilla- Let Them Fight insert.
Unsure when these get made but I feel like the goal by Pacioretty on Quick was a big ole dangit
"AND BERNIER MAKES THE PADDLE SAVE OF THE Y... Oh...dang it."
The trade Caps made with Detroit was a dang-it
