Steve Dangle shares his picks for worst plays of the week in the NHL. He Goes over everything from the Columbus Blue Jackets scoring on themselves twice in one game to Jacob Markström costing his team a game in overtime.

Steve, it was Elvis Merzlikins in net on that Dean Kukan own goal and not Joonas Korpisalo. That's a Dang-it.
Oh no Elvis got another dang it He looked so good at the beginning of the season and now, somehow, his graph has deviated back to the negative :/
@@MrBiteme39 not really a dangit on Elvis part tho is it
@@MrBiteme39 Dang it on Kookan
We need a dangit episode dedicated to the errors Steve makes... I'm sure its been a lot so far.
Steve, I know you do the NHL worst plays of the week, but I think you need to give an honorable mention to the college hockey's CCHA championship game between Minnesota State and Bemidji State. The game went into overtime tied at 1. About 4 minutes in, Minnesota State "scored", and being a championship game, pandemonium ensued. The trophy was presented, and everyone thought the game was over. The only problem with that happy ending was the review that lasted roughly an hour. Then it was determined that the net was off prior to the "goal". The game had to be restarted. Minnesota State eventually did win, but talk about a DANGIT.
It's been done by Jomboy. No need for a second rate analysis.
That sounds absolutely ridiculous. Were they not told there was a review going on? I can only imagine the chaos if Minnesota lost after celebrating a “win” and then the goal gets called back.
An HOUR-long review? OH LORT!
@@jefflarson1652 No need for a s**thead comment either, but here we are, I guess.
@@demoman1596sh You can take his junk out of your mouth now.
I was at the Kings-Predators game. When Rittich decided to go on an adventure out of his net and Byfield scored, I was alternating between laughing and gaping in disbelief that I FINALLY witnessed a Dang-It in person. Total panic move by Rittich with Kupari zooming in out of nowhere, but still, that was a helluva Dang-It, and I loved every moment of it.
The fans should have been chanting the line!
Hey Joe, nice to see you here. Dont forget that Rittich went out FURTHER in the first period but avoided the dangit, but not by much.
After they ditched Fleury, I've been laughing at Vegas' steadily increasing downward spiral lol.
same. it’s especially satisfying to watch as a sharks fan
Huh…
@@whytfbuddy4118 Sometimes it's good to be proven wrong
Speaking of Vegas and Fleury, I'll never forgive them for how they did him dirty.
Watched the Flames game on TV, still felt like asking for a refund for all the emotion I put into that game.
My mom went to the game
I watched the game on tv as well. Being a Sabres fan I was pretty happy with the ending. It was a great game by both goalies.
I think Markstrom had the right idea.. in that 3 on 3 situation, the goalie can create many opportunities. If he had been able to throw the puck up as he intended, it could have been a hat pick. Risk reward situation.. but yeah, it's pretty bad when it doesn't work...
Marky has a bad track record playing the puck. But he has improved over the last couple of years.
You also just can't allow a dude to have a clean break on you if you can get there first. It's basically just poor execution that makes the play look like a mistake, when in reality it is what you're taught
About the Fleury Dang-it: A goalie losing any piece of equipment other than the helmet doesn't result in the play being blown dead. Goalies have had to play without gloves, blockers, sticks, and skate blades, but only helmets will lead to a stoppage of play. Chicago chose not to challenge it, because technically this wasn't goaltender interference. Fleury was able to play his position at the time the goal was scored, since it was about 10 seconds between when he lost his glove and when the goal was scored. All that said, it was normal interference, and the play should've been blown dead with Wheeler going to the box for a 2-minute penalty, but the refs just didn't call it. That's a dang-it
How are you allowed to play your position when the other team took your equipment??
Fleury shoved his glove up under Wheelers arm. Wheeler just "helped" him take it off😄
@@georgedare3046At best Wheeler held his position while the glove was jammed between his arm and body, where Fleury put it as you said, and Fleury wrenched his hand out.
@@gregchezick7757 Fleury wrenched his hand out?..... it couldn't possibly be that he was trying to free his glove from Wheeler's chicken wing?... Way to show your bias to rationalize a play.
as much as i'd want to side with either side, i mean it's the same as when demko got his stick and blocker pulled off and still played with it. unless a helmet is off, the puck isn't called dead
That Sabres Calgary game was the Sabres first shutout since 10/25/19, it had been 174 games without one. Also apparently the only 1-0 OT win by the Sabres in regular season franchise history, & 2nd overall, the other was the 4 OT game where Hasek made like 70 saves in the playoffs
I did not know about the latter two stats, but I would not have guessed the first one. I knew my boys were bad but I didn't realize that their last shutout was that far back. All the more reason to have actual hope for this young core, I think. I'm not in a hurry to get there this time like I was with the Eichel build, and it helps that the Sabres are playing hockey that's actually watchable this time even if isn't great still.
Unrelated to hockey: we have an injured rooster that we keep in the house (he's on IR) and every time I watch these videos and Steve screams, the rooster thinks he hears another rooster so he crows. It's kinda funny and kinda annoying and definitely a dang-it!

Vegas really tries to set new records in "how stupid do you want your trades to be?". First getting fleeced with Fleury, who wasnt even told he got traded, now forgetting about a NMC and according to reports, he found out about getting traded via twitter too... 🤡
It was a modified NTC-most likely, all of the California teams and all of the Canadian teams were on it (it was a 10-team list), because of taxes.
I like how the two Hurricanes dang its really summed up their 4 loss streak Anderson laying on his back flailing and not being able to stop a puck and eventually losing 2-0 while massively outshooting the rangers and then Niederreiter showing how a top contender team has been massively outshooting other teams hasn't been putting points on the board I think there should be an offensive version of "if you're a goal tender, tend the goal" that's "if you are shooting, SHOOT AT THE NET!" cause, my goodness, the number of shots that have been either center mass of the netminder or wide and off target is just astounding
@@zorakramone1472 Absolutely. This last week and a half or two weeks or whatever it's been have been hell to watch. Starting with the last the Penguins game the Canes have gone 1-3-2 while outshooting their opponents 231 to 145 and that includes the Capitals outshooting them 40-20. Infuriating is the correct word no doubt.
Niederreiter missing the empty net perfectly describes the last few weeks for Canes. Just look at how they outshoot their opponents yet lose every game because they can't put the puck in the net. Not even an empty one.
"The Devils have no luck this year" They proceed to destroy the Rangers 7-4... Sounds about right
seems like they need to score 7 to win any particular game
There are times when I have hope.
The Devils no luck stems from injuries across the team, including to the G tandem Blackwood and Bernier, as well as Hughes and Dougie, which then led to the shuffling of lines each week and generating little chemistry. At least now, you see consistency in the 1 and 2 lines, but not the goalies (and sloppy defense).
I was stunned when my Sabres beat Calgary. I've had Markstom all year in one of my fantasy leagues as well as Lindholm and Johnny Hockey and they've all combined to make my team gross levels of good, so I thoroughly expected the Flames to run circles around them. Tokarski and Anderson have been far better this year than we had any right to expect, but even so that was super human on Tokarski's part. That game winner, however, was something else. I honestly feel bad for Markstrom. He had the same body language that Nedeljkovic did when he slapped that own goal in on his own five hole: "Should I just hang it up and go hide in the mountains for a few years?"
The officiating is broken in the NHL, But somehow I feel it is still the only non-scripted sport left on TV.
The Fleury gloveless sequence reminds me a lot of the Thatcher Demko sequence earlier this year
Except Demmer stood his ground and went full scorpion to keep the puck out of the net
@@BrettfordBolts amen, Demmer is a god 🙏🏽
TEND THE GOAL!! I scream it together with you now Steve
Kings fan here. I witnessed the David Rittich one in person with my brother(season tickets). when we saw the goal instead of the kings chant "Hey, hey, hey!!" we both were shouting Dang-it! Dang-it! Dang-it! I haven't laughed so hard after that chant and I'm glad its featured here Steve
When two of the dang it's are the refs, there's a problem with the league
I remember watching the Caps VS Jackets game, and saying, “Yep, this is gonna make the Dang-Its vid this week.”
The whistle for the third dang it, I think that the ref though that Freddy was hurt because he looked awkward AF.
"Some people say it was too harsh, others say it was too lenient, I say IT WAS A THING I MADE UP!" Glorious!
14:22 : Was not Korpisalo in goal for that backhander, that was Merzlikins. @SteveDangle has his own DANGIT!
love the thumbnail, this should be a poster in every locker room
Love your Dang Its! Makes me feel that I could have been an NHL goalie... I've never given up an goals worse that those!!!
As a sabres fan I hated that we won it that way, but glad we won. Markstrom played a hell of a game and robbed us a couple times before that
It was a great game and I laughed while also crying when he missed the pass lol
As a Sabres fan myself I’ll take the win!!! As for you Steve BLOW LEAFS BLOW!!!
I'm guessing Dadonov is going to accidentally trip on a GIANT pile of money in Vegas and have to go on LTIR for the rest of the season.
Rittich was sloppy the whole game to be honest, it's really a blessing for the Preds that he only gave up one goal during his excursions XD
There is a consistent team dang-it that happens sometimes. I call it the Clebo rule: If you have allowed more goals than you have shots on goal, then you lose. This happens sometimes, and it is always a big dang-it!
steve lol it was Merzlikins in net for that second CBJ own goal, the jackets made a goalie change mid-game; they scored own goals on BOTH their goalies that game 🤣
Lol thanks a lot Steve your dang it’s and hat picks have me doing it when I go to a whl game. Anything that was a dang it I thought “that’s a dang it” or if there was something cool I thought “that’s a hat pick”. Or if a goalie came out and missed the puck I thought your most famous saying hahahaha
And after all that Evgenii Vegs trade stuff he puts up a goal and an assist tonight! (vgk fan btw)
I do have a degree in astrophysics, yet salary cap shenanigans are still a complete mystery to me.
As I watched the Tage Thompson goal I immediately said it was going to be featured here and said as it happened "If you're a goaltender, TEND THE GOAL!!" And then I laughed and rejoiced at the win
I was at the Calgary-Buffalo game. And boy was that something to watch. Some crazy saves the entire game… and then that
My dad got to witness that Blue Jackets double-dangit in person.
I'm waiting for a tv or radio announcer to scream if you're a goaltender tend the goal live on air. They'd probably get in trouble but it would be hilarious 😂😂
Thursday truly is the best day of the week. Thanks Steve.
Marky has saved our asses tons of times this season. The Swedish Meat-wall is forgiven 🔥
Steve dangles are amazing
My favorite segment on any KZhead channel.
Dang-it Fun Fact: all 3 goaltenders that were caught out of position in this week’s Dang-Its video have played for the Calgary Flames in the past 5 years. Got a kick out of it as a Flames fan, must be something in the water down here 🤠🤠
I kid you not I was was at that flames game when Markstrom made that mistake the entire stadium was mad at how it ended
2:09 - dearth means lack of, which I think is the opposite of what was intended!
According to THG, the NHL doesn't track No Movement Lists. WHY?!? How can they okay trades if they don't keep track of that kind of thing? That's a Dang-It!
The reason is players don't want the list leaked to the public so the only people that get it is the team then if it leaks they know it's the team ...I'm sure now this will change now that this happened ...just more of a less people that know the less people to leak
Sounds like a lot of unnecessary work that can more easily be handled by the team...as it is
@@Youre-Welcome You say that, and yet Vegas failed to handle it.
Korpisalo was pulled after Fehervary's goal early in the second, so that second own goal was on Merzlikins.
This was one of the best Steve Dangits ever.
Dang-It's make my day!
Interesting, must be different for goalies because Marty Turco was trading after the deadline and played for the Bruins in the regular season
Re: Fleury: At the very least, you could make the case that it should be reviewed for goaltender interference. Fleury was unable to make a save because he had been disrupted by an opposing player interfering with Fleury by literally removing his equipment.
I was at the flames game and I’m a flames fan . I was like welp that’s gonna be in dangits no doubt
Is that the first front office dang it on here? I can't remember seeing one of those before in these videos
One of the few games I got to watch was the Flames Sabers game and I just stood there jaw on the floor looking at the TV, not believing what I saw.
Other than the Highway robbery on Järnkrok the game should have never gone into OT. flames didn't play to their potential. Yeah miss Bobble by markström but 9/10 times he plays the puck smartly.. and having a goalie that can and will handle the puck changes the way a team plays against you. I'll take this dang it. The good outweighs the bad imo.
20:10 he also broke his stick on the way out lol
Merzlikins has some of the most lethal goalie death stares when his own defencemen score on him.
I love how Byfield didn't even celebrate ☠️
We all knew that Markstom thing would be here! Remember checking the comment section on the highlight😋
When Markstrom did that I was like "man.... Steve is going to DESTROY us for that."
You the man steve!!
Any player from the opposing team who knowingly removes an opponent's glove should be issued an automatic 2 min interference..
Lmao, what you even say to that? Eeehhhh! Om man i laughed 20 minutes for that. Stomach hurts, eyes watering. 😂
I lost a 6 game parlay because of the Markstrom mistake 😭
I was at the flames vs sabres game, wasn’t sure what happened 😂
We need merch that says "where are you going, get a map!"
Hey steve, only missing Montembeault's pass in front of his own net on a powerplay!
The play by play broadcaster from the Predators Kings game makes Joe Buck sound like Al Michaels
I found a commentator-Dang-it. "Watch the skate to puck..... to stick"😉🤭 (the Draisaitl goal)
I was there for the markström play. It was odd seeing him completely whiff on that puck in OT in person. especially bcs he’s usually a pretty strong puck handler. The first thing I thought of was… if you’re a goaltender, tend the goal! That’s a dang it 😂
'Dearth' is an absence, so a dearth of knowledge is an inadequacy or void.
An so happy for my sabres and my buffalo bills....this sabres team has major draft capitol, major young talent, and major young prospects...with a good coach now and good GM
After the 2nd time the CBJs put it in their own net, Tom Wilson smiled for the first time ever!!
You missed the oilers vs avalanche OT
Hat Pick was hearing Invincible by Tool during the Jets-Blackhawks clip.
I’m a rangers fan, during this clip with the early whistle I just screamed “NO NO NO NO NO. WHY. WHY.” Instantly after hearing the whistle live.
Steve, you need to look at the Hockey East Semi-finals between UMass Lowell and Umass Amherst. With about 5 minutes left, Mass Amherst had a 2-1 lead and Mass Lowell had great momentum going, and Mass Lowell scored on their own net making the game 3-1 and never getting that tying goal
"GET A MAP" nice steal of a famous Chris Smoove's catchphrase
Gillies clearly had his controller disconnect 🚫🎮
That buff vs cgy goal was really unfortunate but for Thompson to corral that puck and tuck it in for how big he is and how little room he had was actually pretty nasty.
How bout the one where Leon Draisaitl accidentally hits the red square in the face with a puck, with the ref bleeding profusely
Felt like there were a couple of Dang-Its in the third period in the Stars-Oilers game on March 22. -Studenic falling trying to corral a pass leading to a short-handed goal by Evander Kane -Stars getting trapped deep in the Oilers zone in an expiring power play leading to a easy 3-on-1 the other way with Devin Shore coming out of the box for an assist in a Draisaitl goal 43 seconds later -Oilers defenders parting like the Red Sea to allow Roope Hintz to have a breakaway leading to a tying goal -Oilers allow Denis Gurianov to score a go-ahead goal 24 seconds later. Who knows? Those goals may be hat picks on Connor McDavid, Draisaitl, Hintz, and Gurianov, but it's Dang-Its day today.
6:40 I’m a jets fan and I believed you for a sec. I had to pause and was like, was he though?
My son, daughter and I were at the Canes/Chaos game and yelled "IF YOU'RE A GOALTENDER TEND ---- wait what?" just like Steve. My 8 year old claims he could have made that shot that Nino missed, and I agree with him. Sheesh! Then they go on to lose in a shootout to Alexander Ovechkin...
14:52 this is more like if ur a player don’t miss the open net. I was too lazy to put it caps
Was at that flames game, as a flames fan. They keep losing when I'm in the stands and it hurts
Well, if you're a Flames fan, DON'T GO TO THE GAMES! :)
You forgot another dang it from the cbj caps game. The empty net goal when wrenski fell and game the caps a break away
He probably says, “Who wants to measure and cut my Noose from this here Rope! And than we’ll have a contest to he puts it on and shoves me off the bench, sound cool??”
You should print off the "goalie goes here" thumbnail and post it in every NHL locker room.
I was livid with Markstrom in the Buffalo game. It was such a fantastic even game until that gaff. I wanted it decided by a shoot out that game.
Steve is super dope.
Thanks, Steve. Knowing he's going to wind up on Dang-its makes watching Gillies a little easier to take
as the great Steve Dangle said multiple times: "not a league"
I am a Sabres fan and I was at that game it was my first away game so that was the best
I was going to say, I didn't hear anything about Wheeler getting a suspension, and then Steve said that he didn't lol
Rangers game vs. Devils was a massive DANG IT!
Game was something else I tell ya
I'm glad he didn't include it. I didn't want to re-live that.
The screaming that makes my ear drums burst in this video is bigger than all the other “dang-it’s” combined
Yeah, Nino. You Are Supposed To Shoot At The Goalie, But That's If He's In The Net! LOL
TEND THE GOAL is now a gif in my phone messaging options...I did not see that coming
I'm pretty sure you mis- pronounced Dadonov. DANG-IT on you Steve!
