      @trevoressenmacher7474@trevoressenmacher74743 жыл бұрын
    • Just curious, since he got completely spun around, do you think he would have had time to locate the puck and be in the right position to save it? When the puck is travelling at 80mph+ 2-3 seconds is not very long. No disrespect, just curious?

      @gamingsavy2669@gamingsavy26693 жыл бұрын
    • @@gamingsavy2669 that’s a good question, and honestly it seems like a potential toss up, because on the one hand he is a professional goalie, he should know how to quickly identify where the play is going and who people are focused on to help identify the location of puck but in fairness he did have body’s in front of the net. I still believe it was a goal though since that isn’t the argument that was brought up and goalies get lost all the time.

      @Aliw23@Aliw233 жыл бұрын

  • I'm a goalie, have been for 32 years. That was NOT interference, because the goalie had plenty of time to get back into position. However, everyone (almost) had more or less stopped play. The goalie wasn't even watching the play anymore. The question in my mind is whether the play should be considered stopped. The ref had not blown the whistle, so the play was live. It's on the GOALIE to stay focused on the play until he hears a whistle. Therefore, to me, this is a good goal.

  • I feel like the second period of Tuesday's Oilers/Canucks game deserved an honourable mention. First the scoreboard clock was somehow showing 54:80 to go in the period (with the tv feed displaying 55:20) forcing a stoppage, then Roussel thinking he'd gotten into a fight with Puljujarvi (of which he definitely hadn't and was subsequently fined $5k, rightly so), and then finally, to top it off, a ref calling stoppage while the puck was still in play to review whether a goal had been scored (of which no, there was in fact no goal) instead of reviewing after a natural stoppage. All in 1 period. Absolute farce.

  • As a Ducks fan, we suck so much this year so it makes sense the Coyotes didn't want to be the team that gives us a win, but man that was some really shoddy defense. You can bump into the guy but don't smack him with your stick multiple times. Also, Markstrom leaving the net is very clearly a sign that a goalie is sick and tired of his defense giving up constant breakaways against him even if leaving the net looks silly. Calgary gotta lock it down.

  • I'd say that Murray doesn't have full opportunity to get reset. The contact was initiated at the top of the goal crease and when he is facing the play again Murray has been forced back onto his own goal line. Gallagher is still deep in the blue paint forcing Murray to have to try to make any saves directly from the goal line. Gallagher had plenty of opportunity to vacate the blue paint after the contact but didn't and redirected the puck from inside the goal crease.

  • Not a MM Fan, but I believe they got the call right. Since Gallagher spun Murray around he lost light of the puck. One could argue that if he hadn't lost sight of the puck that he could of easily reset. However, When he lost light of the puck. The puck went from the slot to the point. You can see Murray scanning trying to find it and finally sees it tenths of a second before it goes in. I'm leaning towards no goal as well

  • As someone who cheers for Colorado and has no care for either Montreal or Ottawa. Got tk say the goal should have counted. If the player has enough time to not only get knocked over. Then get another player on him. Then to get uo to his feet look at the play and tip the coming puck. In over 4 second. The goalie has enough time to reset. It sucks but it should have counted

  • I think the Murray interference is actually regarding the contact between Murray’s stick and Gallagher’s heel just before the goal is scored. G’s skate is in the blue thus negating the goal due to inability to reset insomuch that Murray was unable to bring his stick to the set position at the base of the 5 hole as well as bringing his shoulder around square. Yes. All the contact before that is obviously more dramatic but irrelevant when considering the last contact before the shot that scored.

  • Don't know what the crease rule is now as they keep changing it, but it used to be players weren't allowed in the blue paint unless the puck was there before them. They should bring that back.

  • Normally I'd say don't hit the goalie even if he's out of his crease but if they do something like what Markstrom did, I say free rain to plow through them. Look at what happened to Horvat his leg got clipped and he went flying uncontrollably into the boards, thankfully he didn't get hurt. Nhl needs to have some rule about a goalie purposefully challenging a player going full speed

  • There’s also an argument to be made that if a forward sends himself into the blue paint- everything that happens after is his fault. If a defenseman actively holds a player down and won’t let them up, I agree it’s on the D and it should count. If a defenseman is holding his position and not allowing the forward net front position- that’s his job. A forwards job is to screen the goalie and get in front for a tip, the D shouldn’t have to let him go where he wants to because he already crashed into your goalie and is currently in the crease. The forward has an option to peel off to the side. They never will do it, but no I don’t think you can blame the D unless they actively are on top of the forward pushing him back down, or if they caused the initial contact- neither of which occurs here.

  • Someone ought to start telling defensemen that what they are supposed to do in netfront battles is calling boxing out for a reason. That reason being they are supposed to do the opposite of boxing them IN. Didn't think NHL Defensemen should need that lesson, but here we are 🙄
