It comes as no surprise that a Chinese car manufacturer has been producing top-tier luxury vehicles, rivaling the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 5-Series. Many enthusiasts even believe that this company, Hongchi, excels in crafting automobiles comparable to Rolls-Royce and Bentley.
Now, they have introduced a new model poised to compete with the Rolls-Royce Ghost, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley, Audi A6L, Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series and even the latest opulent BMW 7 Series. The vehicle challenging these illustrious counterparts is none other than the Hongchi H9!

You cannot assume a new product exhibits quality. Quality can only be proven over time.
This is not a new brand, but last since 1950. Quality? They served only for top ranking Chinese leaders, and now open for ordinary people. Btw, Joe Biden would like to have one.
It's called competition, not threat, and it's better for all of us if there's competition because there is a choice...
They want to monopolize.
America called every high tech from China is a threat, because their #1 mindset is being challenged, they don't look at it a competition.
Question of perspective, new entrant in the market: competition for consumers; threat for businesses.
US neither promotes nor tolerates competion and uses military power to crush any competition.
Oh my gosh. You basically endorsed Capitalism.
In terms of luxury cars, Western mindset might be more emphasized on brand prestige, but for Asian mindset, we are more than happy to enjoy the comfort of luxury cars with less costs.
The Asian mindset is to rip off European designs with no threat of lawsuits or fines. End of story. Complete degenerates.
Speak for yourself. Don’t generalize, definitely not Asians of these days. Most rich Asians cares for prestige, and name value, even contrary to common sense.
You cannot change the world mind just because you making new car. It takes decades to make brand and prestige
Nah, if you can’t afford it then you cant choose. People will always go for the prestige if can afford it.
Really?😂
We no longer need Mercedes, BMW or Audi.
It's important to buy cars when interest rates and prices are low. My financial advisor also gave me the same advice. When rates and prices are low, it can save you money on financing and make the overall cost more affordable.
My financial advisor advises buying cars when interest rates and prices are low. However, he also cautions against it right now due to the hidden costs of car ownership, like insurance and maintenance. He helps me plan for these expenses and manages my portfolio to ensure financial stability. It's all about making strategic decisions and having a well-rounded financial plan.
Please how can I reach out to your advisor, if you don't mind me asking?
My Financial adviser is "Samuel Peter Descovich" he's highly qualified and experienced in the financial market. He has extensive knowledge of portfolio diversity and is considered an expert in the field. I recommend researching his credentials further. It may be a great car but no one who could afford a Rolls is going to drive a car called a Honqui.
This is why more people will buy this Chinese luxury car instead of Rolls.

From the current owner of Hongqi car’s experience. The quality of the car is Not so good
Doug Demuro checked 1 out and shared the video.
see a video before this one. they are shite. one owner took a sledge hammer to it in dealer car park. repaired over ten times in 3 months and still full of faults
Depending on the options, H9's curb weight is 4,100-4,400 pounds; horsepower is 252 or 283 horsepower. Those figures are not competitive with other luxury car makers.
Those people don't care about quality and price, social status is what luxury car all about.
Over pricing is one issue, levels of luxury is another and quality is still another. This is a mongrel , bit of every car in it. this is not for the rich, it's for the common people who want to look rich.
Not for stupid rich people😁
Definitely not. If you say those things, you know nothing of Hongqi, which started in 1958 and built dignitary coaches. It's a revered brand in China. I'm American/British in heritage and have owned two Mercedes-Benz vehicles in my life (including my wife's current E-Class), but I wouldn't discount Hongqi.

Bought Washing machine hoses, manufactured in China. That evening walked by the machine and got spritz with a fine mist in the face. Imagine the insurance claim had that let go on the upper floor in a condo while you were away. Rubber was made from recycled tires, total garbage. Have experiences with multiple rubber products from garden gloves, hoses, etc. Similarly, plastic from China is no good. My windows thermometers of which I had three, all disintegrated into shards within three years.Again, recycled plastic. Bread toasters from China have to be unplugge because they will catch on fire while you’re away at work. Chinese electric cars are burning up at a high rate and the fire cannot be doused with chemicals or water. Sometimes they burn entire buildings down if they’re parked closely. Lying, cheating and stealing, buy one, good luck surviving. The airbags are known not to deploy for a starters.

Rich people who can afford to buy a luxury car in this price range will choose the status of the established companies - they aren't really interested in Chinese startup companies when compared to Rolls Royce who has been producing for over 100 years. Snobbery plays an important part in their decision to purchase as well as a proven track record of reliability and luxury service.

Plus, it has a 30-30 warranty! 30 feet or 30 minutes, whichever comes first. Who wouldn't want an expensive Chinese car to go with all the rest of the broken Chinese stuff they own?
Where do they source the drive trains from?
They'll need to change the name if they want to be taken seriously in English speaking markets, because: 1. In English, Hongqi phonetically sounds like 'Honky' which is a derogatory name in some countries. 2. In Chinese it means 'red-flag'. A red-flag in English however means a risk or something of concern. Neither of these are something you want associated with your lovely new luxury car.
