serena tank this match, she was not emotionally ready to play Osaka and I understand her, I knew when Osaka Win Serena will make no effort
@mauryjamesjimmy60635 жыл бұрын
@@wilsonlauws7783 The only thing obvious about her injury was the fake set up just before to keep herself out of the position so she could make a stab and gently "roll" an ankle. I told my wife with 100% certainty that the GOAT was going to throw this match. At match point I admitted that I was wrong. Then when I saw her step on the line WAY before serving I knew she was going to "create" a situation of being wronged that she could later handle graciously, affording her the opportunity to re-write her legacy that was so tarnished at the US Open. Only someone that is obsessed as me with watching Serena for 20+ years could see the "out of position" set up before the ankle roll. That's just not Serena. The GOAT is also a genius. Osaka/Bajin was the first and only cluster match up for Serena. I hope the GOAT won't run from Osaka now that she Is not also facing a secondary psychological opponent in Sascha. Still a nightmare matchup.

I disagree with this. There are a lot more components that go into winning a slam. The draw, physical endurance , mental endurance , coaching. Hard work alone is not a deciding factor. There are so many great players that never won a slam that were extremely hardworking. Tim henman, safina, dementieva, tommy haas, andy murray.

Isn't it ironic, leading 5-1 but then she lost 5-7. Despite of her age, it is time for her to retire while she's still the top player, it would do her great. Just like what Steffi Graf did, then the history will write her name awesomely. She already has written records yet needs to be overcome, which I believe it will be difficult to do so by other players. People can see how she isn't responding opponent's balls as fast and quick as she used to be. But nobody doubted that she still gets the spirits. Only it isn't enough to bring back victories of any grand slams. Mind us all, her last GS title achieved was AO 3 years ago, and look how much weight she gained since. I always admire her spirit and her dedication and achievements, and this game is sad for me to watch. But I think it is time for her to retire, start the family and be a legend for the rest of the world. She has got every achievements every tennis players had dreamed of. What else?...

Notice they edited out the fraudulent foot fault call because not one video angle showed evidence of a real foot fault. Also, all y’all saying “well done Karolina” should be saying “well done line judge” bc that man ruined this match and injured Serena’s ankle. It was ACE, game, set and match, till he stepped in for Margaret. Serena did not win ONE more point on serve, not ONE point on serve, after the fraudulent foot fault call. That is not Karolina but a cheating umpire who ruined the match and stole it from Serena who hit an ace and won fair and square.

I'd laugh if the same chair umpire from US Open 2018 women's finals was doing this match as well. Serena would've gone off her head abusing him non stop. WOW. That was one hell of a comeback from Pliskova. 7 games in a row. I'm glad Serena lost this.

Quite stunned seeing the statistics. Serena hit 54 W to 37 UE and still lost. She couldn't convert on most important points. Something which I guess has never happened to Serena.
It was a match full of chokes man. Serena outchoked Pliskova at the end. Serena said she was tired after playing Halep and that match was only 1 hour 47 minutes long. Venus played a 3 hour long match against Buzarnescu followed by a 2 hours 30 odd minutes long match with Cornet before playing Halep. I think Serena's body is not able to hold up well.
Ankle or no ankle sprain, Serena was still there and Pliskova had to hold her composure. Saw this match and it was exciting to watch a comeback from 1-5, 30-40 (!!) though Serena did start making so many unforced errors. Still, Pliskova had to close out.
Serena was low key relieved when she lost after discovering that Osaka was her next opponent haha
She wants to win 2 more GS titles.
I don't see het retiring in the next 2 years. She wants #24 badly. Lol

They won't be hatin' if they would respect the umpires, respect their opponents, and respect the line judges.

hail the mother of daughter, breaker of rackets, rightful heir to the throne of tantrums.
oh please half the tennis world breaks their rackets why does one person get so much flack for it.

The key to beating Williams is to make her run..If players try to out hit her she usually wins. Margaret Court is still the greatest!!
Seriously..?? Margaret court is the greatest..??

@@anithabasavarajan1302 Definitely not in open era.. and in Margaret court time, there must be played only 3-4 rounds and whereas Serena has played 7 rounds in a grand slam throughout her career.. And most importantly, competition wasn't tough at the times of Margaret court whereas at Serena's times competition was and is very tough.. And more importantly, Chris evert and Martina Navratilova has said Serena is the GOAT .
