Rough start to our PNW explorations... [S6E19]
Our travels to the Pacific Northwest kick off with a sad goodbye to the Voyager loaner trailer as we revert back to our utilitarian setup for the trek. Our 4Runner gets tagged for shuttle duty at the Overland Expo event but not before some reconfiguration of the seating arrangement. Her highness, queen Abigail asserts her dominance over our best laid plans (and sleep schedule) but we solace ourselves with some positive attitudes, riverside snuggles, and copious amounts of Topo Brew while watching a pair of young eagles overlooking a peaceful Idaho river.
Our 20 hours of tedious travel culminate at Overland Expo PNW in Redmond, Oregon where we mostly put the cameras away and spend time with our fantastic Patrons and fans. (But not before we take a peek at the new GX550 and have an interesting conversation with the Earth Roamer folks!)
This episode has a bittersweet ending when we are unexpectedly reunited with something we've recently fallen in love with; but soured by some significant, freak damage to Aspen...

Gotta love those Mormon Crickets😬😳 We’ve run into them so bad around Dinosaur National Monument and the Green river that it’s like driving over Vail Pass in the winter in a snowstorm 😂. Glad to see that Abigail is doing better now, will look for you in Loveland👍

Oh man I traveled for two weeks on the road with a three month old daughter and yeah it got to where we had to stop pretty often tried to prevent screaming.

finally getting around to watching this and that was definitely a HOT weekend, we came over from Salem to the expo and only got to see approx 2/3 of the stuff, didn't even get over to the area you guys were in. Sure wish I did though but had to tend to the girlfriend as she was melting from the heat lol. Did meet up with Donald from softroading the west again and saw my masterpiece after thousands and thousands of miles put onto it on the grill of his truck, met a few others I know and even JonDZ. We did do the Premium package and never will do that again as it was not worth the 200+ more compared to general so if we do go back this year we will be aiming for camping in general near everyone I know and am friends with.
To be honest I'll never been in a expo, cause I really don't have the time, but hopefully I will one day. Now with the new trailer, I'm sure Abigail will sleep much better,. Oh, in case you diced to sell silver in the future let us know. Big hug to everyone and thank you for share every adventure with us. 😊
I would completely and highly recommend attending one. I love the realm but haven’t gone overlanding yet but omg! I went to an expo in my Tesla and camped in it. I met so many awesome people, awesome toys, awesome time all weekend. You should totally go

Can't wait for the new GX to come out! But man, that trail/overland version is probably gonna be around 75-80k'ish, not counting the markups. Gotta wait a couple years after it comes out. haha!

Depending how long I've been out, I might smell like a bug hmm My parents used to tell the story of when the crickets invaded Yuma Arizona the night my Uncle got married there(mid 1950s), don't try a sit down restaurant while that is going on around you is the basic primis of the story.

I wouldn’t want to try out a rig that’s really nice that you can’t afford . It’s a tease . It would be nice , but no those dam rodents! Hey dogs will be dogs. I had a rat 🐀/ mouse build a nest in my air box , in my driveway in 2,days . It my daily driver . All rodents go to heaven here !!!
