    • Yeah, now think that the line of reasoning used by people against Roy would work equally well for Johnny Depp? How's that working out right now? Maybe some skepticism is valid.

    • @@Rundvelt anytime I see a political accusation right before an election I default to fake. Its just too…coincidental. Now if they have some form of concrete proof, then sure, but accusations are just that, accusations.

    • @@Rundvelt No it's a different thing. They choose to deliberately not look at the information available calling direct quotes and video fake, whereas with Johnny it was deformation which is much harder to proof. Also this isn't skepticism this is straight up denial (maybe even delusion with some of them). Skepticism would be asking how such an expensive wall can be justified since the illegal border crossings have benn declining for years, the wall can easilly be scaled or sawed through, parts of the wall have already collapsed and at that time i believe Flint didn't even have drinking water.

    • The way the news is reported in the US is disgusting. They hype everything up, dramatise everything to make it sound so much worse than it is. Instead of just reporting facts and educating people, they make everything political and breed mistrust.

    • @@KilynnTor As an Arkansan, I feel like I should feel offended, but like, you're not wrong? Tbf it really depends on where in the state you are. The more urban areas are nice. Suburban is...not perfect, but people aren't outright hateful and don't spew shit that much. There's an expectation of political calmness so to speak, as in, if you're racist, you say the n-word behind closed doors to other white folks, and act all cheery when actually around POC. Rural is where it gets nasty. Been to a flea market where they sold MAGA hats right at the door and I swear my heart stopped for a second. Tried to get a pic of them to show as proof, but my phone died, sadly. Personally I grew up in the more suburban area, so like, as long as you don't go to places that are labeled as Christian or somethin', most of the time people won't outright start shit, ime? Maybe talk behind your back all passive aggressive like. I will say, most of the folks, religious or not, regardless of general political leaning, who I've come across, they've all been at least vaguely progressive in terms of rights, like pro-choice and pro-trans. My pediatrician and her whole church went and protested the anti-trans bills, which was nice to hear. I mean, I'm a trans goth gay dude who enjoys quantum mechanics and general sciences, alongside your basic trivia especially about mythologies and animals, but like, all that aside, I getchya. Hard living in a state when most of the folks around you ain't got nothin' rattling around up there besides some cobwebs and a spider who died of starvation that made said cobwebs. I specified all that at the beginning to emphasize that I get how it feels to be the odd one out/only one with any brains on stuff. I have a love for learning and my education system tried to squash that. ;-; Also seemed to impress my teachers a lot, but I suspect their expectations where just low due to the nature of our education system, it really isn't good. My mom used to play a joke on me and my cousin of "a brain-sucker" where she'd put her hand on our heads and pretend it was sucking on our heads, and say it was starving to death, implying no brains. I think of that a lot when I hear about folks 'round here and in similar places. And my peers in school. The education is god-awful here, dunno what it's like there. Best of wishes, nonetheless, mate. Hang on out there. It's rough out here, but I'm rootin' for ya. :)

With gravity, you can anytime go and drop something and it always goes in direction of center of gravity. So its repeatable. In religion, you cant do that. Plus like with medicine, you need to include placebo in your experiment. We can see the impacts of gravity everywhere every day. But you are connecting faith to coincidences. For some reason, people who have ridiculous ego complexes find success in America, whether they are cult leaders, snake oil charlatans, self-help gurus, or MLM Ponzi pyramid TimeShare hawkers, whatever the scheme may be, Americans are horny for being sold a line of BS, because then they get to complain about the consequences later, because so many Americans get off on being miserable.
