THE KING IN THE NORTH
@@brendanfrizzell2391 Yes, no one expects him to honor the vows now that the night king is dead. He was sent there for his safety from retaliation to rule the lands, castles, and ships of the old watch, and the lands north of the wall now that spring is coming. King of the True North. Tormund said it at the feast,
The saddest part is ned carried jon's secret to his grave , what an honourable man.
Well... I'd love to meet a man with that kind of dedication. I'm sorry for myself that I never got to meet my grandfather (Family farm is in what now days is known as "Yanisjarvi"). He did some incredible things back then... I'm sorry that I never got to meet my mothers side grandfather, since he died on the last day of the war, by accidental fire after the peace was made. I'm so sad that this has to be done again. There is no need to kill anyone, no need to gain any territory, no need to be bigger than you are. It's a sad sad story, told over and over again. Little men, waging war with men they don't know. This is what it is. Oh, I was talking about real history, but you see...
Well, he didn't get to see anyone. He wasn't about to tell it to the Lannisters

Yeah but they didn't cast well. He's one of the most hopeful and inspiring character. Surely they could have picked someone better than him.
I remember Stannis said that Robert had a hard time controlling the north, even with Eddard's help. The north was never feel like part of the seven kingdom, because of how independent they are. Jon managed to unite the entire north, along with the wildlings from beyond the wall. All of them acknowledged him as their king. Then his bloodline was revealed, he is the true heir to the iron throne, He has the strongest claim out of anyone. Imagine him as the king of the seven kingdoms, with everyone including the hard ass northmen fully accepted him as their king. Oh what could have been...
Would have been interesting to see for sure.
Would have been the perfect ending. From nothing to Lord Commander to death to a King to The King. What a ride it must have been.
They were in too much of a hurry to move onto star wars and ended up fucking us and themselves in the process.
That's why I started reading fanfiction.

"You've got the North in you. The real North." That echos so deep man...
Yeah, but it's nonsense really. What does that even mean for a guy born in Dorne, whose father is pure Valyrian blood, soothes dragons like Drogon, while riding another dragon in battle? And black hair doesn't mean anything. Rheanys Targaryen, rider of Meleys, the 'Queen that never was', had long, straight black hair, they just did a lazy job depicting her on House of the Dragon. Too many people putting merit in the nonsense coming out of a half-wit Wildling named Tormund. What does he really know anyway? Don't get me wrong, I liked him a bit, but he was given way too much influence relative to his actual importance.
@@m.williams4971 in the books jon is very diffrent he acts like a targaryen. in the books when he found out he is the son of rheagar he will want the iron throne. but maybe being killed may change his personlty tho.
Doesn't matter how they ended the show, Jon is the king. The story was about him, and his storyline deserved better.
*Saved the world twice,* went to prison for it :-) The tragedy is that he had to sacrifice his romance twice for that too :-(
Shit
You think jons punishment is actually a sentence as you watch the unsullied ship off and him leave for the land he loves the north... he’s right where he wants to be
epSos.de Yes the story was rushed in the final 2 seasons, but in true GOT fashion the end had a little twist to make your head swell. Seasons 1~6 were , in my honest opinion , some of the greatest stories told.
@@TheMagicPencilG he left the nights watch. And he went back through no decision of his. Sounds like a punishment to me.
And why the heck does he need to be the last Targaryen? Most useless fact of all. Shame.
He was the true king of man, by right and by heart!

@Jacob Votava that would be stupid. white walkers after like 5 months coming back? you know it took 1000's of years before the white walked came back in got?
"Love is death of duty" one of the best dialogues in the history
Or "Duty is the death of love"
Jon should have been king. He may have had Targaryen blood but he had Stark honor, and a desire to keep his word, do good, and stand by his friends, family, and allies. He very much reminds me of Aragorn from Lord of the Rings, in that he didn’t want power, almost feared it, but destiny seemed to thrust him into roles where his leadership shined brighter than all others. Tormund meant every word when speaking about him in Season 8. It should have been him.
Exactly right who has a more interesting story than Bran? 😂 God
I truly believe that's the point of his books. finally a dynasty that holds both as equally true. ice and fire. a boy without a birthright and a girl with the name. together making the world one first men and true targaryn
He got done dirty. He was the true heir, he fought the most and hardest to save the world and make it better. Ended up having to leave westeros and leave behind the wall with wildlings. With less than 10 people ever knowing he was the true heir to the throne since the death of Mad King
He finally got to live a life that was his and not have to be savior of the world. In the end its what he wanted for his watch to end.
I disagree he never wanted the lead in the first place
Life is never fair and this is a great example for kids to see especially and any man or woman with ego. Some of us will be screwed but as Jon did we must keep pushing and life our best life.
@@Derek2k The thing is this show is not the bible nor it is for kids, it's a show for entertainment. The end was disgustingly trash
SO basically he got exactly what he wanted all along. That was the life he chose but couldnt live bcs of his duty to save the world. After the world was saved her buggered off to live his life the way he wanted it. I see a perfect character arc closing with the best possible way for the character. Whether the fanbase wasnt satisfied by it, is kinda irrelevant. A story arc is successful when the character fullfils his goals, not when the fanbase is happy with it
I almost hate watching these things. It makes me fall in love with GOT all over again but then I remember how it all ended and it’s like heartbreak
Know exactly how you feel, bro. I’m the type of fan who loves watching shows over again numerous times. But after season 8, I don’t know if I’ll ever finish the entire thing again

it sadly was so good but the final season was such a rushed disaster I will not recommend people to watch this show, simply because of the ultimate disappointment in the end
Jon facing that cavalry charge is just as badass as captain America facing thanos’ army alone. Such a good moment
As badass? No. Its BETTER

So you didn't like the character arc of Jon Snow ? Where did you want to see him? In Winterfell as the little brother of Queen Sansa ? Or in the arm of a tyran ? My humble opinion is that he was a Wolf. And Danaerys made him her dog. From the start. Because of her ambitions. I don't think he would have been happy living in the shadow of Dany. Whoever she would have turned to be. He was a King ! So be it ! He will be ! He owned the leadership of the wildlings by being true and loyal to them. They see him as their brother. They welcome him as a natural leader. See? It's another kind of love story! I loved to see Ghost was with the wildlings, i feel they welcome him and the Dire Wolf exactly as they are. I think this is truly beautiful !
Celine E. He was supposed to be the King! Forget about Daenerys.
Scott Summers ok just stop already
@@celinee.9562 i dont Think she just means his ending..but more his Character arc this season. Jon was build up as a great Leader Who stands up to his morals no matter against Who. He was one of the few Who stood his ground infront of Daenerys knowing she could Destroy him every moment. Thats why she Fell in the first Place for him, because he kind of challenged her. Same with Stannis. Stannis had massive respect for Jon because he was Honorable, just and brave. But also Smart. Jon was never the smartest character in the Show, but He wasnt dumb and an upcoming leader with great potential. Yet in Season 8 he was Daenerys dog. Afraid of making her Angry, had no Big role. Did literally nothing this season except saying "youre my Queen" and "i dont want it" just to stab her in the end like a coward. And making stupid decisions and remarks everywhere. They didnt make him justice this season.
Celine E. I could care less about Jon’s Targaryen claim. It was such a little part of what made jon, Jon. I have no problem with his ending but the way they literally turned him into a ghost on this show the last seasons. Jon snow wasn’t fully realized. They decided to turn him into a plot device when he was about to. I mean just look at this video itself and see how he ends up as a shell of himself. The writers caring more for Daenerys is the reason.
They took being Kingfrom him, they took ending the knight king from him, they took his love from him. Writers of the show did him dirty
ikr he should of been king
You can never convince me Jon Snow wasn't the prince that was promised.

I love Jon Snow but imo Season 8 didn't give him anything. Arya got to kill NK. Sandor got to kill his brother. Jamie got to kill Grey Joy. Even Bran and Sansa get to be King and Queen of their own lands. Jon after everything he's done I felt like he deserved some type of emotional pay off. More than just killing Dany at the last second. Devin M In the books, Rob legitimized Jon prior to his death.
@@devinm9245 He isn't a bastard though Rhegar wed Lyaana remember
That’s probably how GRR is going to end it tbh
You did the character more justice in that 6 minute video than D&D gave him in an entire season. Great editing my dude.
thank you so much man, and yes disappointed about this character even if he steel my favorite
I have to agree...I had tears in my eyes at the end...a great character, brought to life by a pretty great actor...thank you for bringing back to me why I loved Jon so much...and why, out of all of GoT, I will miss HIM the most. The King of the North!
Darknight 307 Absolutely the truth. This is outstanding.
Wow. Exactly what I was gonna say. More character development in a series of clips than Dumb & Dumber did the whole season.
@@chriskunce3331 Awkward when every clip is from the show so clearly whatever "character development" he showcased here actually happened in the show. You people are so fucking daft it's unreal lmfao
Best Game of Thrones edit I've seen yet...the editing, the music, the quotes
I never have celebrity crushes, but the character plus the looks , I’m in love!! Love me some dark hair & eyes
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." - Jimi Hendrix
Power of love OF POWER?
In the words of Frank Underwood: "Everything is about sex, except sex; sex is about power."
As far as I am concerned he is the true king of 6/7 kingdoms. But he is far happier in the real north! Have a great life you great fictional character!
But he was banished! He was done dirty. He was the true heir. I found the ending sad. He goes back to the wall to live with the wildlings, as if he was a common savage. After all he had achieved. He’s the last of the Targaryens. He deserved better. I just wish that bastard Greyworm had met a more befitting ending. But then again it’s GoT, nothing is ever predictable.
Everybody: you have to kill Daenerys. Jon: kills her. Everybody: to the wall. Jon: wtf?
alexcnb I feel like it was more like he was just taking them back
Ya, I feel the same way. From early season till the end, all he ever wanted is what good for people. He never wanted a crown or power. This is the true quality of the king.
@@sanarr1 if the dothraki and the unsullied are taken out of the "everybody" category, then sure.
Even Dany knew somewhere than Jon deserved to be the King
This is the best edit of any show I have ever watched
This video made me feel more emotion for Jon than the whole of season 8, you've done a greater service to Jon than D&D ever could
PowdaToastFace Killah bout time somebody says it
Bro its d&d footage and production. Hop off the bandwagon my guy
@@powderedtoastfacekillah734 Your credit should go the the cameramen and editors then.
I loved everything about Jon's story this video just makes me sad how it turned out in the end. I mean Jon is happy being in the North and not being the King, but for me after all the shit hes been through i just needed him to be on the Throne. This last season wasnt the greatest imo, just because it did feel rushed, i still enjoyed it but it wasnt as fleshed out as the previous seasons.
grow up. it's literally D&D footage
Jon always chose what was right over what he personally wanted. He wasn't just dutiful, he was duty itself. He wasn't just good, he was the essence of it.
underrated comment
Nice
Just like robb
@@maurice-ednt1215 hate to disagree with you on that part. For if Robb was as dutiful as Jon was, he would have smothered his feelings for Talisa and marry Roslin Frey, as his mother promised Walder Frey. That would have spared us all the Red Wedding. Jon always placed duty above his desires, whether they be to his House, to the brotherhood he bound himself to, the men who placed their trust in him as their King in the North (even if it meant stepping down as their King to save their lives from the Targaryen and her dragons, just the way Torrhen Stark did), killing or witnessing the women he loved being killed, if it ensured the welfare of the people he was responsible for (choosing the Watch over Ygritte, the remaining men and women of the Seven Kingdoms over Dany).
@@arvindkhurana8851 but he slept with higrid even tho he knew he shouldnt just like rob , he couldnt resist at a woman
i cried toooo hard watching this. he deserved so much better bro
The king we needed The man we deserved The bastard who was king The dragon with wolf’s blood
You nean the wolf with dragons blood
after all that build up throughout the seasons, he was sidelined in season 8. Such a disappointment
r8...arya killed night king...bt jon snow was totally sidelined in that war...nd he was sidelined too In final episode
Mir's Tube yeah it’s cause they said it would be to predictable... I wouldn’t have cared because it would make sense for Jon to kill the NK because they’ve had the most scenes together
I dont actually care who kills the NK, but at least give me a decent sword fight between snow and the night king!!
@@majk3739 or with grey worm ;)
@@majk3739 Same, I didn't mind Arya killing the NK, I just wanted to at least see Jon fight him head on for a bit before it happens.
Thank you for this beautiful edit ❤
Thank you for making this ❤️
I don’t care how cliche and predictable it would have been, Jon Snow ending up on the Iron Throne would have made the whole story come full circle...son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, rightful heir to the seven kingdoms, the oldest member of the Stark family making him Lord of Winterfell, even the wildlings viewed him as a king, and respected him greatly. Jon Snow/Aegon Targaryen was quite literally the only person in all of Westeros that everyone from Dorne to Beyond the Wall would have accepted as King...he had the power to bring the entire continent together and that’s why he was always the true “Prince Who Was Promised” or “Azor Ahai” not Dany, not Arya, nobody else...without Jon, Dany doesn’t come north, Arya doesn’t come north, and Dany would have gone on to do god knows what after burning Kings Landing.
You want a good ending but not too cliché and still in the idea of the show? You take all you said, after defeating Night King, Jon realizes he needs to assume his responsibilities, to take the throne but to maintain peace, as a ruler, a leader. Daenerys thinks the throne is more important that her love for him, now you have a war between Dany and Cersei, you have Sansa and the northeners who still seek revenge on Cersei but want to be independant too, and you Have Jon, followed by wildlings and northeners, who only want peace. Rhaego stays with Jon, which is why Dany doesn't attack north a'd focus on Cersei, Varys stays with jon too, Tyrion is confused and stays with Dany, regretting every day this decision. Eventually the war ends, Jon takes the iron throne, filled with grief for Daenerys, pity for the Lannisters, who could have ended betterly and argues with his sisters because they seek north independance, he marries a woman from a banner family because he swore an oath (like Robb did) and we end on an old Jon, who went a bit depressed with the throne, going North to ask one lf his sister to be his hand...
nope , that would have actually been the worst ending for jon snow ... for viewers yeahhhhh ..fav character at the top whoooo ... but the thing is jon never wanted to be the king he never wanted to be in the power ... remember one thing this is a story about starks and lannisters but that does not mean lannisters are the only smart people in the world .... there will be more , alot more and got has time and time told us that kings can be killed anytime anywhere .. robert died due to poaching , ned stark beheaded, joffery poisoned , tywin killed by his own son.. jon getting up to tge throne would gave actually ended up killing him way sooner than ned stark . his deeds are great but his actions always have consequemces .. also jon doesnt want the power and after all this jon had to become the same person who actually he ended up killing "i just hanged a boy younger than bran" ...... he has seen what the power does to people and all his life has been wasted and has been spended on fighting ... having to live with the free folk is the only ending jon would have wanted just like jon robb was a great leader and i do think robb was a better pick for the throne than jon and what happened to robb? the guy died anyway because he wanted to do what's right in his mind but ended up betrayed by the freys .... if jon was made the king it would have been nothing but fan service which would have been a really really cheap ending jon is already tired of this game by playing it just fkr 2 months or something in a row ... making him king would have ended up in playing this game for very veryy long and if he fucks up ... the world is fucked up and jon doesn't want that in his hands he already have blood kf so many people rn in his hands that now he just wants to be free of all these norms and regulations of the real world i get that as a viewer you want your fav character at the very top but tbh it would have been sucked for the guy
@@ddivyansh8529 Jon being king doesn't mean any happy ending, his character is built around duty, him becoming King, which he doesn't want, just to stop a war, to finally be an emissary of peace, that would be a great sacrifice, he would go so depressed, after killing the female he loved (Danaerys) because she was too destructive. A broken Jon Snow going old an depressed on the Iron Throne but assuring peace as his whole reign would be nice, an ending not obviously happy but so much more satisfying than season 8 because it would mean conclusions, not rush.
@@ddivyansh8529 Who was is in the show who said that the best king is the man who doesn't want to be king? Someone said it. And it has been said in the real world for millenia. Kings are not born they are made. Blood does not make you king. At least not a good one. If you desire to be king, you desire power. Power ultimately corrupts, as we can see it did partially to Dany, the gentlest, purest soul in the whole series until she unraveled and went mad. The man who is forced to be king feels the weight of his position and he desires not to own power but to use it. To use it so that he may make the best of his position; to the best job he can. That is what a true king does. And Jon would do exactly that.
All I wanted was that 1v1. King vs King, the way it was meant to be. 8 years of building up. 8 years of being just outside each others reach to end with nothing. Man what a waste. Still a great actor and character in all fantasy forever.
The story of Jon Snow: A man who saved his people, chose the greater good over glory. He won’t go down in the books for what he’s done, because to many, he’ll be viewed as a queen slayer. But the people who were there know, the true heir to the king, the true savior, a man who stayed true to himself no matter the obstacle that he faced. Some of the greatest stories are never told. Long Live Jon.
