  • No character has ever impacted me in a story like Ragnar. His ambition, his development, and his philosophy are all stunning to watch throughout the series. Travis Fimmel deserves an immense amount of praise for the passion and aura he brought to the character. You can see it in those striking eyes of his. There are many incredibly well written and performed characters, but Ragnar just feels special. I don’t think there will ever be a character quite like him again.

Shows like Better Call Saul that starts great and ends great beginning to end are far superior than Vikings who lost in quality after Ragnar's death. He is a man who took everything that was given to him and more, he made the world exactly how he decided it would be. He conquered, ruled and empowered everything he believed in, he was conflicted in life and in death. In which is the struggle of life everyone is overcome with. It is tragic and beautiful.

  • Oh dear lord, I thought I had prepared myself for his death, but the episode broke me, and so did this video. Ragnar truly was an extraordinary character! With all the accomplishments and setbacks, his development has been a pleasure to watch over the seasons, and he is without a doubt one of the best characters ever. And this video...there's not much you can say really, everybody knows what you're capable of, and I could write an essay on every single one of your videos, but I'm just going to rewatch it again instead, over and over and over, and enjoy all the emotions Ragnar and this video gives me. I ache from his loss. Vikings will never be the same. Truly, thank you.

Though he was an actor in a TV series or a hero of the sagas I've grown so attached to him over the past four seasons I feel I lost an extremely important person in my life, who will I wait for to come visit me every week now? who will bring me joy or pick me up when I'm feeling down (don't get me wrong I have normal healthy real life relationships be it my wife, child friends & family) but as crazy as it sounds I feel I lost someone very close to me (never experienced that from any TV shows or movies EVER it is so bizarre) though I don't lament his death for the valkeryies with be taking him swiftly to the wide open doors of Valhalla!!! HAIL O RAGNAR!!! FYI I can't believe the emotions I'm feeling while writing this

The sentences he speaks are all perfectly chosen in the perfect tone, you really look forward to every scene you see him in. Is this Travis acting or just character writing at its best?

  • I started watching this show with 12 days clean. July 1st is my clean date. Today I have 6 months and have finished the show and have my own relationship with a higher power. This show did tremendous things for my spirit while having just few weeks clean. I got a job on a composting farm and was just in the heat daily for 8 hours getting it than going home watching this and going to meetings. 6 months later my relationship with my god is immensely growing stronger each day. This show has helped save my life.

  • Ragnar: When will we reach king aelle's? Blind man: Not until tomorrow. Ragnar: It will be at least another day before I am put to death. You and your gods are wrong. You see, I guided my fate. I fashioned the course of my life and my death. Me. Not you. Not the gods. Me. It was my idea to come here to die. Seer: You believe that so it is true to you. Ragnar: I don't believe in the gods' existence. Man is the master of his own fate, not the gods. The gods are man's creation, to give answers that they are too afraid to give themselves. Seer: You may be right, Ragnar Lothbrok. I am only the seer. I have walked among the lowest of the dead. And I have groped for meaning. And I may have been wrong. This is still by far one of the most powerful conversations ever had on Vikings.

    @Nate_the_Seeker@Nate_the_Seeker4 жыл бұрын
    • But what the seer said about ragnars death and the blind man literally came true. And odin himself told ragnars sons about his death so... The gods do exist

    • Fabse 1997 it wasn’t true. If you listen to what the seer says. He said you’ll died the day when a blind man sees you. He didnt died that day a blind man sees him. He died the day after. So technically the seer is partially right.

    • the meaning of this conversation is pure sadness, and betrayal: The gods didn't choose the death of Ragnar, but Ragnar chose it for his sons to avenge him, as it was the only reason to Kattegat to avenge son of king Egbert treason to Ragnar, as nobody wanted to go with Ragnar and Ivar, he knew his death would be the only reason to kill England. This means this was not any god idea, but Ragnar, he died to snakes of king Aelle because Ragnar did believe that would happen, but it was not God idea, the seer explains that is not Gods idea but one believes in oneself that becomes true; the seer proceeds to explain that he only gives meaning to peoples lives, but he doesn't tell always the truth unless you believe that's what going to happen as we know, Ragnar did not support the idea of one god, then the whole meaning of the conversation is that no matter what God chooses to us if we believe in ourselves we can alter what God has for us, I believe Ragnar is feeling sad for this, as he realized he didn't have to die this way, but he has no problem in accepting this death, he is not giving up on the plan he is a legend, after all, very emotional moment.
