Some may not like this idea, but I theorize that a six-cylinder in a V formation could outlast an eight-cylinder in an endurance race. If both engines were equipped in two exact vehicles and had about the same power, I'd suggest that the six could hold out longer than the eight based on weight, fuel consumption, and coolant temperature. Could be fun to see that in a simulation. Could also be boring too. It might be more fun to see what these testing grounds will do to cars equipped with various pistons, from 3 to 16, inline, V, slant, or even rotary engines.
And while Automation has Beam exporter, it behaves differently from Beam made cars
The only issue is that for the V6 to make about the same power as the V8, the V6 would have to be pushed harder (run more fuel, run at a higher rpm etc) so those factors would probably even out in the end. The actual design of the engine tends to be far, far more important than how many cylinders the engine has, and in what configuration the cylinders are in.
@@nordvestgaming1238 yup just scratching the surface here but you have overall metallurgy of the engine. Coolant and oil flow characteristics. My favorite example is that having something random like thinner piston rings greatly reduces heat buildup.
