Logitech G915 TKL switch sound test and key actuation differences (GL Clicky vs GL Tactile)
This is a video comparing the key switch sounds of the Logitech G915 TKl in two different versions - the GL Clicky (seen on the Black G915) and the GL Tactile (see here on the White G915).

For reference, the difference between these keys are:

Average Force 50 gf
Tactile Force 60 gf
GL Clicky

As you'll see, the black keyboard, with the clicky keys is a lot noisier, but still really nice.

Black clicky , white tactile ?
Yes (see description for more detail)
Black Clicky. White mushy
@@Nothingisfeee I wouldn't say mushy, I have the tactile right now and it's really pleasant, but I think I'd enjoy the clicky

THIS is how you review a keyboard.
You liked that eh?
@@TheProvokedPrawn Man, yes, the best way is to compare with keyboards side by side and direct comparison right away (not 1 minute typing on one, then 1 minute on the other, but one key after another is perfect). Been laughing at some parts though.
That's not really a review, but it is helpful.
@@UltimateByte are they swappable with Cherries?
This is how reviews should be done on KZhead. Excellent. I'm not even in the market for a keyboard. Watched the whole video.
Thanks
same mate
LOL! Brilliant! (And agreed)
Dude, I don't think I've commented on more than 3 KZhead videos ever. That being said, you're so awesome for not forcing us to sit through a 3 minute intro and you just hopped straight in the the sound! Thank you for your service.
Glad you liked it 😄
So no sponsored by raid shadows of legends nor nord vpn? no annoying intro with subscribe and click the bell icon?
The „click subscribe“ bit WITH SOUND was kinda annoying though.
Started cracking up at the Escape button scene. I enjoyed the slow play, the delicate movement between the courting relationship as it unfolded. It was like watching a documentary on the ritual escape key in the wild, but here... under controlled situations and a hidden camera. I bought the white one. TY
Best (and most detailed) sound comparison video I have ever seen
Couldn't have made this test any better. Good job buddy 👍
man this is the best switch comparaison video i ever seen, thx a lot

Yeah I have to agree. Went this morning to test drive the two, best buy only had the clicky model and I didn't buy because I needed to try the other. Glad I came here, going clicky

@@TheProvokedPrawn seeing as you asked so nicely!
the only video I could find actually comparing the sounds I need comparing, and identifying which is which. THANK YOU! just decided I’ll buy the clicky from this video.
Glad to help
Thank you so much for this review! Made me feel much better for ordering a tactile. Looks like the ones being sold now have a bigger left shift key
Glad I could help!
OH THANK GOD! I am considering it, but my God not having the large shift key just so I can have another key that I haven't used in my life would have driven me nuts and also screwed me for typing
I have the clicky g915, but I just bought the g915 tkl tactile because I missed using my g810 😅
Thank you a lot. The real important Info on the point. Stay Healthy Dude and go on Kudos
I found this relaxing somehow
I loved it. The information I was looking for, and the comedy I didn't know I needed.
🤣
Just picked up the clicky version. It's awesome. A bit loud, but I've heard louder. I just love the feel of the keys.
White or black?
@@danietreni4116 black for me. White looks great though.
How loud would you say it is from 1-10?
@@feexy41 6/10
@@jeremyventurino9481 I got a G815 clicky. I agree about 6/10. The keys are louder than my old G413 Silver, but not that much louder. There's something satisfying when you use the clicky switches. The only thing where it might be slightly annoying is when you play fps or 3rd person games while using WASD a lot, but I haven't tried it yet since I just got it for Christmas. But from what I heard, it shouldn't be an issue. But the typing is just satisfying. 👌
Thx a lot this is exactly the difference i wanted to hear!
Thanks for the video, imma go for the tactile.
Well Done ...it was hilarious but at the same time was informative!
🤣🍤 hope you enjoyed enough to sub
I haven't bought a new keyboard in 10 years, and a lot has changed. I tried to figure out the difference between clicky and tactile, and this helped a lot. clicky would drive me nuts.
Clicky sounds like eggs frying. 😂
I know this is a year late reply, but I have a clicky keyboard (slightly older model than these) and my buddy always says I sound like I'm rage typing because I type so fast. I think next time I'll try tactile.
@@Drsmiley72 I ended up buying the tactile thanks to this video, and I'm very happy with it!
I wish the white one would have clicky switches. I'd buy that in a heartbeat

Just got my 915 tkl with tactile switches a couple days ago :) I used a g810 orion with tacticle switches since it launched in 2016, but that sadly broke last week :( This keyboard has not only been a replacement, but def an upgrade! The switch from a full to a 10 keyless was weird the first day, but now it feels completely normal :D Sad that the keyboard is still as expensive as it is, but it is definitely worth the money
Your orion lasted only 6 years ? Wth ? These keyboard are not supposed to be more durable than cheap ones? I'm using a k120 at 12$ for 6 years, can't die...
I laughed when you were clicking the Escape button at light speed
I lost it at 3:14 lmao clicky
So I just got the white tkl a few days ago. There is a big learning curve with the brown tactile switches. Felt like I had to work so hard to click. There was a lot of resistance. By the 2nd day it was easier to type but still felt like I was fighting my keyboard. Ended up my letter i key started malfunctioning and it would take 4-5 presses for it to register. Took the key cap off and checked everything looked fine. Letter i got worse and worse by day so I am returning the keyboard. The keyboard itself is awesome and the macro setup was easy . Sadly I love the white keyboard but my next one will be the black with the linear switches. I will sadly have to go to the black since the white only has brown tactile but I can’t go back to the tactile switch. The white tkl was a beauty and the keys are very easy to read

This video is amazing 😍😍 now i know how clicky sounds and i love it but think i go for the tactile one.....
i got the clicky one without knowing this difference , but indeed i made a great choice :) , is expensive but tkl version feels amazing .
I appreciate this. I can tell you also have a bit of sense of humour 😂
I'm excited for this channel to blow up. Which key did you personally find more satisfying??
Tactile. All the way.
Clickys imo feel super nice but I HATE the loud noise they make. And linears feel horrible so 🤷♂️
Excellent review, thanks!
Excellent comment. Thanks. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe
I own the tactile. This is my favorite keyboard all time. I don't know why its so expensive, but for me it was worth it.
Nice that your happy with it and you didn't choose the linear, becauae for sqitches with this low actuation, linear just feel mushy
Me: I want white clicky Logitech: No sorry
Tactile it is, thanks for the great review!

got the tactile version today..converting from a Tecware Phantom outemu blue switch keyboard feels a lot of difference....might need time to adjust the feelings of a new keyboard
thanks helped a lot!!!
I love them both, I don't know which one I want more...
Hey buddy, I own a clicky and love it , how does the tactile compare to clicky in terms of the hand aesthetic ? Click orgasm with the clicky but contemplating getting a tactile for office. Does it have the same feel ?
I ordered the clicky
Great Review mate, you deserved yourself a subscriber
Thanks!
which one do you prefer after using both for nearly a year??
I just got a G915 TLK with the tactile switches, honestly don't regret it at all just wish this was a little bit cheaper and would honestly like to get into custom keyboards after seeing how overpriced "good" is vs custom.
Thanks, help me a lot
Kailh Choc are really good low profile switches. No wonder Logitech decided to use them
So what about the feel of the two? Do they feel the same when typing on them, or does the clicky have some more resistance? I've had the chance to try out the tactile version at a local shop, but didn't really like the way that it felt there, hence why I'm asking.
I'm going for Tactile!
I went for the tactile, great keyboard! My favorite for sure, i used it for 3 months now. GL tactile White
@@ivanpekic3544 whites are clicky
@@Knighttus didn’t you see the description?
I bought the tactile version I deeply regret it, because the clicky version is far more satisfying to me.
DOes the CLicky switch also comes with an added tactile bump?Or the tactility is just the same and the click is pure sound?

Which one is better for increasing typing speed?
I've been enjoying your videos since i found them at the beginning of lockdown. Cheers for the content! It's been a great distraction, though my wallet doesn't like you nearly as much! :)
Thanks for the pleasant comment. Appreciate it! Sorry about your wallet.
That was dope
"This is the Provoked Prawn and this is the tactile version" - my best guess as to the tickity typing on the white one. This is not a useful skill so I stopped testing it. Good actuation testing vid.
You should release this as a single.
I’ve owned a tactile keyboard of theirs, and while it’s an amazing keyboard, the clicky sound makes me swoon. God those keyboards are nice
I love keyboard asmr😊
The clickiness of the black keyboard is music to my ears
Now this, is an unbiased test. I bought the G815 with clicky switches cuz the tactile didn’t feel right to me. But naturally, I’ve had second thoughts and have been tryna figure out if I made the right move. I’m more in the mindset that I have, and the sound reminds me of the older keyboards I’ve used (clacking and more noisey).
I will say, the reason I'd buy a keyboard with a switch as short as these, is basically for the click, both the tactile and linear variants feel so off considering the press is so short.
the clicky feels better but its so irritatingly loud IMO.
@@aaronaaron1611 They can't be any louder than the razer greens in my 2015 blackwidow TE. I miss that keyboard but dang I was waking people up with that thing. If I could get a switch with that same feel but without the noise, that might just be my endgame switch.
@@alexseery9342 after Lenovo Thinkpad's keyboard which is considered best in class, presses here are soo long. lol
So I’m kind of new to keyboards, since I’ve only used office ones, but in general, do the tactile and clicky pretty much feel the same overall? I understand the clicky switches are more popular but is the main difference just the sound of the key presses or is it something else? Again, not necessarily into the technical aspect since that’s foreign to me 😂
Different feel it’s small but it’s felt tactile I personally think feels better but the sound of clicky makes me want to switch just for the amazing sound
can you feel the click on the clicky ?? i could only get my hand on the tactile ( brawn) one in the shop and i did not like the feel .. you cant beel the bump .. it felt like a membrane keyboard ... i want to feel the bump .. do you feel it on the clicky ??
I've had the Logitech G915 black clicky tkl for over 2 years now, I have no idea why Logitech never produced the white tkl with clicky switches - I would have bought it in a heartbeat. One thing I dont like about my black one is the keys have gotten glossy or oily over time. I have tried out other copycat keyboards like the Reddragon K621 however I keep coming back to my trusty G915 because the Bluetooth just works - the wireless just works (With a usb extender) . The copycat products have no hope if they cant even get the basics right (bluetooth was used on my mac and was terrible with the Reddragon K621 like ghosting keys, intermittant issues such as deleting my sentences midway through an emai.l that was the final straw!) I'd love to purchase a white tkl but still have the clicky switches but I've never seen this mod done before and not sure if its even possible (Yes, I know you can order keycaps from Aliexpress but I want the real thing.
Excellent review, both of them are too noisy for my taste. I need almost silent gaming keyboard which is also very narrow without numpad because I haven't got too much space on my desk.
Linear?
Gl clicky is the best sounding switch out there imo
You are the best!!! Can you please tell me when the RGB is turned off in which one can you make out the keys the most?
White
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thought so. Thanks man!
Think ill save up for the Clicky, sounds more fun :)
I am hesitating between tactile and linear (clicky are too loud for me). Does the linear sounds like tactile ? Btw, great comparison thanks.
I'm curious about that difference, too. From this video, I like the tactile more myself.
I just bought the tactile tkl yesterday and hated it right off the bat. After 3 hrs of typing tests, I warmed up to it and tabled my Razer Widow. I might exchange it for the clicky version though, but I really do like it.
so you hated it or liked it? lol.
@@kylechow6072 I kept it and retired the widow. - typed on G915 TKL
Is there a noticable difference in the feel of the keystrokes? If so, how would you describe it and which one provides better feedback for gaming vs typing?
For gaming…both are great. I feel as though the clicky one is a bit easier to press and less “sticky” if that makes any sense. Both are great for gaming and typing in my opinion. Can’t go wrong with either. Or just get both lol 😝.
Look I got to say this review Really pushed my buttons 🤣
hehe. I like your style.
It is like ASMR
Keyboard ASMR 🤤
Which is faster please? Thanks
Is clicky too loud for an open coworking space?
The white looks better but the brown switch looks too mushy. Wish the white came in clicky
I bought the clicky one because it was somehow faster for me! :D
Does the tactile sound kind of cheap irl?
Amazing
Thanks!
No problem!
I really liked the clicky but I got a really good deal on the tactile version
Nice! How much did you pay?
i paid 200 for mine cad
Please tell me why in some reviews the shift key on the left is large, and in others it is small? I ordered myself a black tkl version with English layout, the main question for me is what size the key shift
It's the difference between ANSI and ISO layouts
