This was my first time turning Holly and I loved it. I've been told by many woodturners that it's a awful wood to use, but I found it buttery smooth and easy to get a good finish.
The piece has been sanded to 1000 grit and finished with Danish oil.

It is wonderful, Harry. Truly. My grandparents had a huge holly bush in their front yard. LOL....I'm sure it's still there, well maybe. I would hope that if they cut it down it would become something beautiful like this.
When you first chucked this up, I kept saying, "Oh, no you're not. You're insane." And as it progressed, I could see the method behind your madness. Very nicely done.

Thanks Sol. The Holly was felled a few years ago and I kept the logs outside, so wood isn't as bright as I had hoped. Do you like the design?? 👍😃🪵

You know you can make a jam chuck that would fit that. Alternatively use a Tenon and cut the tenant off the Dremel idea is questionable. Belt sander would have been better
