A young badger moved in our area, they are usually very shy animals, but this one is not. And he/her is really curios about surroundings.
American badgers are the masters of digging, the Nature gave them strong legs and huge claws, they can move enormous amount of dirt in very short time, they also can dig backwards, if they felt threatened they could dig with their backwards and disappear in the ground in seconds.
After watching this badger for long time I can tell for sure that he(or she) is really enjoying the surroundings , spending so much time just looking at the horses behind the fence or just laying down on the grass, moving around very slowly and very carefully looking and sniffing everything, for sure he(or she) is a young one and just discovering our beautiful world …

Aaaaaah, what an adorable animal. It is disgusting why some insane people take joy in badger baiting, especially in U.K. and other places. Badgers are very intelligent animals, docile and quiet by nature unless it is threatened, then, it will viciously attack to defend itself. Thank you for sharing this video. I am a huge animal lover and know nothing about badgers. Your video of a badger is the first badger video I have seen, my heart breaks at the thought of hundreds of thousands of badgers being culled to prevent tuberculosis in cattle. Whenever I am able to save enough money, I donate to my favorite animal organizations which rescue, educate, and rehabilitate all animals in America and the world. I pray for the day when no animals are abused, maimed, tortured, and suffering at the hands of humans. Ending all animal abuse and cruelty is my wish for the future.

What a beautiful critter! Looks so clean shaven I can almost smell him and very handsome.... oh wait...comments are about badger. Hahaha He a little cutie pie but I tend to get nervous around those nocturnal type critters. Had 3 raccoons hold me hostage in my house, above doors, then they made me break my wrist. True story.lol I snuck out other side of house, put ladder near door to help the coons come down and the 2 baby coons flew at me. I lost my balance, fell back on my wrist and snapped it. My dr thought I was hallucinating til I showed him pictures of the raccoons. Love your videos!!!!!!!

I am convinced that if humans spent more time observing animals closely, we would be awestruck at their intelligence and ways. Man is an ignorant predator because he doesn't take the time to observe with his eyes and heart. As a consequence, it is we who are prone to stupidity, not the creatures. About 5 years ago I took an awesome video of a badger about 5 meters away from me in Wyoming by the Green River lake. It was awesome :) The little dude was not afraid of me at all and not aggressive either.

My daughter’s medicine way is badger. Years ago, on the way from Spokane to Portland, we saw an injured badger by the freeway. It’s leg was broken. We wrapped the conscious badger in a blanket and put him in our Cadillac trunk. The vets at Tri cities refused to help him. We gave him some water, then, drove to The Dallas. Again, vets refused to help. Since Portland is even less ready to treat the badger, we took him to sacred ground by waterfalls. We left him some meat and left. In the way home, a few tracks told us he was recovering. Farmers have fits about badgers digging holes, but they really help with rodent control. Now, with atv’s, their burrowing is not such a problem. Wild horses perceive where they are so avoid danger of breaking legs in holes. Have a relaxing Saturday!

I've only seen badgers 2 times in the wild, once in the High Sierra in CA and the other time in NC near Burnsville in the Blue Ridge Mountains where it lived in the woods behind my apartment. It came down in the evenings to forage for bugs under the bug-killer lite. Fascinating creatures, but watch out for your chickens! LOL
Mountain Fisher if it were not for my family living in Raleigh Durham Chapel Hill I'd be in the mountains right now. So I have to be thankful I get to drive 3 hours there and see it when I can. One time driving home on the Blue Ridge Parkway at dusk we saw a beautiful bobcat just sitting on a ridge 10 feet from the road. I lived up in New Hampshire in the mountains for 10 years I miss it terribly. Blessings to you.

I think this badger has done his/her reseach about your land and knows that you are an all right guy. That's why he/she moved in and is not afraid of you. 😄 Where I live also has badgers, but I have only seen foot prints.

Nice and intimate looks at a badger. When I was a young teen, my father stopped on a country road somewhere in Colorado and we watched a badger near a fence line during the day. I got out and approached it and we got to within about 10' of one another. He wasn't too put off by me. Added up over the years to my interest in wildlife to this day. Thanks for posting.

Watching videos like these make me miss going out to the country side when I used to go on vacations. I am content with city life but I miss the time being out of the city, out with nature, contemplating life or playing with the swing my dad made for us. Those were some very good times and I'll always remember for years to come. Hopefully one day I'll get to go out of the city for vacation again.
