  • I had a stroke March 7th 2021. I was in inpatient rehab for 27 days, I walked out with a cane. I am going through home health therapy. I now have movement in my left arm and fingers. The first few weeks were the toughest weeks of my life. But God is real and He told me I'll make a full recovery. You can recover from a stroke.

    • I suffered a Brain Stem Stroke January 24, 2021. I had no underlying health issues like HBP, High Cholesterol or Diabetes. The cause of it was a combination of Birth Control and Migraine. I stayed at the Veterans Hospital for 16 days. Right side paralysis but was able to move that side on the 4th day. Lots of spasticity. I do PT, OT, Vestibular Therapy, and Acupuncture (Scalp Acupuncture to stimulate my brain).

  • At the end of Nov 2020 I had a brain stroke. (age 32) after a month in the hospital I enter rehab and the real work begun. My motivation was to get home and be with my family… with that in mind I would set little milestones for myself and work very moment to surpass my own goals. What I did was try to isolate movements. Work on moving just my big toe until I got it, no matter how long it took. Next, I worked on learning how to spit out the paste when brushing my teeth, when my little brother would come visit I’d tell him “ the next time you come I’m going to be able to flip you the bird” ( put up my left middle finger) so for the next week I would focus on that everyday along with whatever other goal I had given myself. I say all that to say don’t give up! Set little goals for yourself, it doesn’t matter how small work on them often. Give yourself pep talks.( there will be times you don not feel like doing this, but do it any way) we are creating new neural pathways and forming new habits. So, the more we do something the more it becomes second nature. Our bodies are so amazing and I’m sure anyone that has had a physical traumatic experience can agree with that. The brain is so powerful and I took what I knew for granted ( ex. My left peripheral vision and however the 32 years it was a skill that was developed) I think of this as a reset and now my brain needs help and power ( via nutrition) to build new pathways, regain strength and acquire old and new skills. So, now I walk 30-40mins everyday no excuse winter, spring and summer. And during each walk I’m I Tune with how my left leg feels and what it is doing ( I use this as a way to track my progress) I keep a diary for when my emotions become overwhelming and when that’s not An option I find a safe space to cry scream or ponder. Don’t give up please! Keep going and remember to forgive yourself along the way.

    • @@loveyu2778 This really depends on how severe your stroke is. The one I got was not as bad as it can be, but it hit me on January 15. My entire right side was paralyzed. I got back the ability to walk pretty quickly. I still have a hard time with my torso and arm. However, I did crush my right hand, losing the thumb, a few years back. Perhaps that is adding to the issues, idk. Currently, It's now April 3rd, and I feel pretty dizzy and nauseous when I use my arm regularly. I feel extremely tired most of the time. I sometimes feel a bit down, but I would not say extremely depressed. I am optimistic that it will, one day, just click back to normal. I may have a bit of a ride, still, though. Thanks to everyone who has shared & good luck.

  • Magnesium deficiency can cause severe migraines and stroke. Also B12 deficiency can cause strokes also. My husband's stroke was from the deficiencies. His heart was very healthy and they didn't know what caused the stroke. After research and going to a naturopathic doctor, I found out it was those deficiencies.

  • I'm an EMT and physician assistant with a lot of emergency medical experience. You were showing classic sings of a hemorrhagic stroke and it seems like many people, including the EMT, nurse, doctor all missed it and showed either cognitive bias in dealing with you and assumed it was a migrane or some other type of bias. If I heard "worst headache of my life" from any patient also exhibiting symtoms of weakness you would have immediately earned a trip to radiology for a brain CT or MRI. If they didn't do that then they were super negligent for your care that day.

    • I too have those thoughts sometimes. I had an Ischemic Stroke on Xmas day 2022, and am in rehabilitation three times weekly with my therapist and twice daily on my own. I feel like I've lost so much of what I used to have. However, I still believe I will get back most of what I lost. It's very mentally challenging and you have to work very hard at everything, nothing is easy for me anymore. Keep positive attitudes and have a speedy recovery 🙏.

  • I feel like I might have had a stroke when I developed cough headache from lisinopril, I just had my gallbladder out and I'm enrolled in medical ethics and because of my age and everything ain't nobody gonna listen to me until I'm dead. None of these teachers ever believed in me they believe in the system. Where no one is told what to think because that would just be too much coercion in a free society that values non-aggression principle. That's what taxes are for! So I can tell you what I think and you can go along blindly because I made you afraid of some boogeyman that's threatening or freedom again. I'm gonna need a shot of Double Dutch Courage.
