August 7, 2016 brought a pivotal race in Pittsburgh for the F1 Powerboat Championship crown with three drivers close in points competing for the top spot. Tim Seebold and Terry Rinker both ran strong early races but it was Greg Foster in the #53 boat who had everything dialed in perfectly Sunday for a parade lap with the checkered flag.

My uncle Don used to race at the Parker 9 hour Enduro in the 70's. He used to race against Billy Seebold, Bob Massey etc back then. The boats have come along way since then and so beautiful now.
Thanks for sharing that Eddie. I try to catch these boat races any time they are in our area, always fun to watch!

He said hi to Bill Seebold, greatest racer of all times on the water and did not know that.
...and Bill got recorded by the greatest KZheadr of all time! LOL
Billy Seebold walked right up to this dude and he had no idea... mindblowing.
Hope to see him walking around the 3 rivers again soon, since we've missed powerboat races in Pittsburgh for what, two years now? Too long!
.
If only there could be an official videogame about this!
Great idea! The F-Lights & F1 Powerboats are scheduled to race this weekend (August 3 - 5, 2018) in Pittsburgh with Trials on Friday & Saturday afternoons (Noon-4:30) with the races set for Sunday (5:00pm-8:00pm). The early weather forecast calls for 50% chance of rain Friday in the low 80's and partly cloudy in the mid-to-upper 80's on Saturday - Sunday. Ya Gotta Regatta!
good...championship..🏄🏄🏎🏎
Unfortunate that the 2019 event got torpedoed and 2020 is now cancelled as well. Hoping it's back in 2021

Awesome event, wouldn't miss it, wish local sports media would pickup on the reporting and race results.
What camera did you use to film this race with?
Panasonic HC-V10 on a handheld stick, great little camera that shoots 720HD and has a powerful 70x zoom (with mostly lens).
not suitable track so dangerous its under the bridge
Years ago a boat ran up onto the shore in that area (before sea walls were built) but most accidents since then seem to be related to the corners.
