This week, Hennessey marks ten years since the Venom GT's record-breaking 270.4 MPH top speed run at Kennedy Space Center. To mark the occasion, John Hennessey took a moment to reflect on the Venom GT as well as to share an update regarding this year's plans for Venom F5 top-speed testing.

In that journey to 300 MPH, with the F5, Team Hennessey has made the most incredible American hypercar to ever exist. A production car capable of going 300 + MPH is mind boggling and the stuff of sci fi and yet here we are. God speed John Hennessey. God speed. During a time when our country has not been shining too bright, Hennessey Performance has been one of the few bright spots and has given us all a great sense of American pride. You all definitely have my thoughts and my prayers for success. BTW the F5 looks STUNNING!!!

@@StandingUpForBetter Look up Johnny Bohmer’s “BADD GT”. Runs on E85. Would hardly call it emissions compliant in all 50 states either, but it is street legal. Kind of a bad comparison since one is a insane build and one is a “production” car, even if low-volume

One thing that is not talked about much is just how damn gorgeous the F5 is! It is really a striking car from alll angles. And the Venom F5 also won the prestigious Red Dot award for car design. 🇺🇸 Murica

@TheDwightMamba dude, the old Venom GT was on a Lotus chassis. The Venom F5 is built from the ground up with a carbon fiber monocoque. Totally different cars. Do some research please.
To hear the motor is incredible It has showed up at a couple car meet here in Houston. You can just hear the lope of the cam

They are running a big production line. Big difference.he can take his sweet time rolling cars out.
That’s an odd statement. I can’t now and will never be able to afford any of the cars that John tunes or produces…so I’m kind of glad there is a manufacturer like Honda that makes cars that last hundreds of thousands of miles and hold their value. Not many American manufacturers can say the same.
@@JS-.- You are not wrong. I love what John is doing but I too am not in a position to buy any of his cars like I can't buy a Ferrari or Lambo but I do like the fact they exist. I do own a Toyota and a Honda and both cars have never given me any issues since I bought them new 5 years ago.

Gosh that 330mph ordeal really ruined their reputation.. It's a shame because the more the merrier, but they made their bed and now have to sleep in it.
Just remember SSC ran nasa at 287 or so and John is saying nasa isnt long enough to run to meet their goal....SSC still has stuff to go
@@ohedd But they acknowledged that there was a mistake, they tested the top speed again, the first was 286mph, and the new one and is confirmed was 295mph 👌🏻
@@cowcheese1983 Yep, I agree. Tuatara is impressive, but they did ruin their reputation and that is a shame. But also, it should be noted that neither SSC or Hennessey are homologated for road use like Bugatti and Koenigsegg are. The latter have passed emissions and crash safety, whereas SSC and Hennessey are on show and display. That already makes the comparison kind of weird and unfair. Like getting your 1800bhp through emissions testing is sort of part of the challenge, otherwise it's not that different from just tuning.
@@ohedd true that. They all need to run their runs on the same road man and same day. Wind assist, tyre science, road surface, ambient temperatures, performance pressure etc.
I love the friendly competition. This speed war is inspiring innovation between Hennessy, Bugatti, and Koenigsegg. Constantly pushing the limits of what’s possible What I also love is the contrast between the 3. Hennessy = Blue collared, raw power Bugatti = Elegant and posh Koenigsegg = Technical and sophisticated
What about SSC Tuatara??? Why everybody forgets SSC? They are around too for over 10 Years! And they archieved 485KPH allready and confirmed!!!

Love the Venom GT. What a feat it achieved. I'd love to see a video with the 4 main wr challengers from past and present. Venom GT and F5, Veyron SS and Chiron, Ultimate Aero and Tuatara, Agera and Jesko. It would be interesting to see as all the cars are so different from one another

In all things you get to hear John talk he always says the other manufacturers name out loud, the other manufacturers never mention their competitors by name Good on him for recognising friendly competition

There's a full exposed carbon F5 Revolution with yellow accents and pinstripes, you gotta see it. It's the most beautiful spec
Grey is an incredible color to go along with carbon parts.
I love they way you talk about it, it seems whenever anyone else talks about these records they either don't acknowledge their competition at all or they talk about every way they did it wrong or that it doesn't count.
So excited for Hennessey. I've been following you guys since around 2013 when the Venom GT set the record. I remember when the Venom GT was featured in the 2012 Need for Speed Most Wanted game. Good luck!

I just wanna say thank you for updating us and giving us exactly what happened what took so long and etc because I’ve been a loyal fan since the first venom gt came out and I was extremely upset seeing all these other companies breaking records while I’m just holding on like y’all just wait until the f5 does it then fast forward it never happened 😢but I’m happy now i understand

Volkswagen won't let Koenigsegg test on Ehra-Lessien either.
Volkswagen (Bugatti) they are really scared that their record might be beaten so they'll never let others give a chance on their own tested tracks

@@No-Name360 bugatti doesn't hold the record. They did their speed run with car in a spec that you can't buy and only went in one direction on a track nobody else is allowed to use.

Texas horsepower and Texas ingenuity! Outside Tyler, Texas, there is a fairly new loop private funded tollroad called loop 49. I'm guessing it's 10-15 miles long. There are a few hills and slight or long curves, but there are a couple of flat long stretches. Also, the majority of the road doesn't have anything built close to it. It's 2, 3, and 4 lanes at times, so it averages 3 lanes with shoulders. It's all a single asphalt/ concrete surface, so the lanes aren't separated by a median or anything else. Plus, it's still new enough that there's not many houses or businesses built along the road.

I’m 23, I’ve met one of this man’s kids in college, the fact that 10 years ago this man’s had baby’s and little children and still reached for 300mph, the dedication is like very very few others, an absolute Texas Legend!! Been a fan for as long as I can remember ❤️❤️
What about the Transportation Research Center in East Liberty, Ohio where Callaway set there record with the sledgehammer? Probably not smooth enough anymore?
Ever since I was at the NASA runway a few days after your previous top speed test, I’ve wondered what updates were made to the car? Very shortly after that last attempt you guys said you would be focusing not on top speed runs but on building customer cars. Quickly, many cars were delivered to customers. What changes will you be retrofitting to the existing customer cars to ensure the high speed capability and stability? The timeline between knowing the final result of the last speed testing and the parallel production schedule could only leave current customer cars sitting at the same aerodynamic and performance level of the last test car. Eager to see how fast this platform can safely run!

Try CFB Goose Bay in Labrador. One of the runways, there, was a backup runway for the Space Shuttle, so might meet your test needs.

Good luck to you I hope you achieve it. If you have to close any thing down to achieve a record it is a race car. Production / customer cars should be proven on public race tracks where a customer can use their purchase to their full potential. Tracks like the nurburgring. With two drivers One professional and one civilian each gets three laps 1 outlet and 2 flyers and both drivers times are combined to create one time.
This video is long overdue.. years ago it would have been nnice for you to deliver some updates regarding customers car and the top speed record. We have all figured that part out now hearing from Hennessey owners. The only news here is that this is the year yall try to actually go for it. Good luck. Breaking 300mph on the i-10 sounds insanely terrifying. I feel like its gotta be texas because thats where Hennessey is founded but if road conditions dont work out i hope arizona is the 2nd choice

Before the end of 2024. This is happening this year. No guarantees on the results, but its an absolute (no pun intended) top priorty for our company.
