During high school he told the reporter that the money for his first EV project (arround 100-200k) comes from his launch money. He is a living insult to all Croatian people and a reminder of the war and the people who made money out of it. The only thing he built was an electric bicycle and the company under which he sells it is constantly in the negative. The Nevera, Concept one etc is done by many many engineers, and Mate is not one of them. It's really a disgrace to put him in the same room with this brilliant people.

      @uadcro@uadcro Жыл бұрын
    • Dont judge Mate by stories you hear. i have to just open your eyes. Bill Gates didnt invent anything, he just stole and presented other ideas. Where is he now? He is an iT person talking about vaccine and deppopulation. And he is idol to many... If you want a person that is what it is, they say Elon Musk does all, solves problems which no one can and he is what he is presented to be. I personally doubt in it, its such alot of money and so many different huge projects that you gotta question is it Cia, FBI, Nato or God knows who that helps. So Mate, yeah, if he had money before to race cars, you could say, like people do here in Balkan, do drugs, be a playboy or whatever. But no, he was car enthusiast. Then we got his ideas he got from Tesla projects. The rest is History, Rimac is a Huge thing, and he will just be bigger and bigger with time that comes. He did perfect thing at perfect timing. He bought Buggati, God knows what he will do in future. But it will be a bright future no doubt. you talk of war, how many war criminals we all have,that have alot alot of money, what good did they achieve ? What bussiness did they start ? If Mate didnt start Rimac, no one else would, probably for a while, but from Balkan, no one would come close to this in any project, but cars for sure not in this century ! You should be proud. Even if you believe or know the things you wrote are true, his progress and things he did, will do huge things in future no doubt about it. He proved it already.

    • I'm not a big fan of John Hennessy but his follow up remark is just as crucial... People like to generically mock that trucks and SUVs don't get used for their actual purpose but that's just not true. A large portion of the.Amercian work force need those trucks and need them to be reliable, capable, and able to be refueled on the fly. Shoot just a commercial mower weighs more than you think and that's just the mower, not the trailer itself or everything else you need. Also in times of emergency (I.E. - Tornados, flooding, hurricanes, ect) which is frequent here those trucks and SUVs actually do matter. Between lack of capable products (Ford Lightning, Cyber Truck, Rivian R1T which could not sustain a mowing company's needs for a day - a low bar to meet), the lack of charging infrastructure, the low turn around times, it's just not possible. Also when an EV motor goes it goes, and that's not a go to Jiffy Lube or AutoZone and sort it out kind of problem, it's in just about all cases a major job costing major money just in parts, the labor charges are going to be insane. I would bet the farm, you take your work Toyota Tundra into the dealer and then take your Cyber Truck into the dealer in any scenario, that Tundra - F150 - RAM - Whatever is gonna be 100 or 1,000 times cheaper.

      @davidgalea6113@davidgalea6113 Жыл бұрын
    • @@davidgalea6113 being an EV doesn’t make a car an appliance. Appealing to the majority of buyers does. 90% of ICE cars are appliances, and there are plenty of examples of EVs that are far from that. Taycan, Rimac Nevera, Jag I Pace all have considerably more interaction and fun in how they drive than 90% of ice cars! Also, taxes aren’t stopping anyone from driving historic or classic ice cars. • (Long essay incoming) When Gordon Murray mentioned about how a generation of people might grow up only ever knowing EVs eventually and enjoying them, it reminded me of my own experience with cars when I was younger, particularly BMWs. I grew up during the Chris Bangle era of BMWs, and I loved it to bits! I loved how simple and elegant the 3 Series of the time looked, the 5 Series with the swoopy wing-like headlights, the curvy front end of a 6 Series, etc etc When I grew older and watched clips of car shows airing during the time where those cars were new, that's when I found out how hated those designs were. People were very critical, with some saying it was either boring, ugly, a traitorous departure from traditional BMW design, or all 3 of those things. But to me, the Bangle-era BMW was the BMW I came to recognize first, and it was the BMW design language I loved. As far as I was concerned, that design language was and always will be quintessentially BMW. They may have lost some older fans, but they gained a whole generation of new ones who fell in love with the new design direction and made that generation into people who liked cars, whether it'd be for the drive, the design, or the tech & engineering, or all of those things. Now I'm on the other end of the fence, with the gigantic kidney grills on the new M4, iX, etc. I'm not a gigantic fan of it, in fact imo I think it's pretty ugly. This is probably how older BMW fans felt when the Bangle BMWs came out. But while I don't like it, there's a kid out there who's growing up and loves that design to bits and is gonna be a car guy when they grow up the same way I did. People are gonna say he or she's gonna miss out on the "good old days" , but people said the same thing during my time with BMW and I turned out to love cars still. Maybe I love things in a different way than car guys that came before me, but I love cars all the same, and the new generation of car enthusiasts are gonna go through the same experience too. I might not like what they like, hell I might hate it even, but I guess that, like Gordon Murray mentioned, is a generational thing. If you have fun with things that I personally don't, more power to you! We're allowed to like different things. I hope the younger generation has lots of fun with cars the same way I did, even if our ideas of what's fun are worlds apart. If it feels exciting for you, whether it's with EVs, hydrogen power, net-zero co2 synthetic fuel, or some other new form of alternative fuel we haven't even made yet, then my best wishes go to you and hope you keep enjoying it 👍🏻

    • have you seen the new mega grills in real life? I admit I hated it when i saw the first release pictures but when I saw it in real life, it was stunning. I was like "hmph, not bad! " and the more I saw it the more liked it. And when you're saying 3 series, are you talking about the e46 or E90? the e46 is in my opinion the most influential BMW of all time, the fact that they're such versatile cars and you still see them everywhere in the road for being 20+ years old at this point, plus the massive fan base.

    • @@Lucidbkeo Omg I totally forgot about this comment! I actually saw an M4 recently and it's actually pretty good looking in person, I was impressed! I stand corrected, at least with the M4 and iX. I haven't seen any of the other mega grill BMWs yet but I'd be happy to see them myself! Also I was talking about the e90! And not even the M3 or anything, just the plain 4-door 3 series. My mum had a 323i and I think it's a lovely design personally!

    • @TechPassion What you posted may have been a few miles long but I can understand it perfectly from how much emotion there was present from your personal experiences. We all have our preferences, some more than others, but then again as Murray stated, the liking of certain cars is generational like with many things.

    • Well i grew up before bangle era but still the e60 is the best looking 5 series for me personally, only recently got switched with g10 lci so my opinion is, regardless the generational thing, CvK has the best answer regarding the ev, in fact I'm looking to buy an affordable ev for my daily since tesla is damned expensive in here, even the hyundai ev one is still cost a fortune

  • I completely understand what Murray was explaining when he was talking about the 15 wins out 16 races in a season, and how that loss was an important in it's own way. One year when I played in youth league soccer, I was on a team that just dominated every other team for the entire season. I don't remember how many matches we played that year but I remember that the only match we lost was the 2nd to last match of the season. When I say dominated it's not an understatement. We were winning matches 7-nil, 9-1, 5-nil etc. We lost 3-1 and it was because of 2 contributing factors; 1st our opponents came ready to play and 2nd we didn't have our heads in the game until we were down 2-nil at 1/2. By the time we refocused ourselves it was too late, the other team had the momentum and they were driven by their success. Losing that match helped to serve as a reminder that we were good but being good is not enough if we weren't mentally in it. Having won the league we went to the regional playoffs and made it to the championship match, which was the farthest a team from our league ever made it. I have a feeling had we not lost that match during the season that we wouldn't have made it nearly as far as we did post season.
