    • The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.

It's like she's an actual celebrity but she's not she's just a synthetic voice program. Even when people think of the songs that Hatsune Miku sings they don't think of them as being the artist's song, they think of it as being a Miku's song. • I will say, in defense of the "A Girl Like You" song, Erica is the first one to say they're just alike and Annalise is confused at first, but Erica explains that they are both young women who prioritize taking care of their responsibilities over pursuing their passions. So it's not like rich Annalise just walked up and told poor Erica "Wow, we're like totally the same!". Erica's choice also makes more sense when you realize she's angling to be invited to the castle to sing in hopes of launching her singing career, so she wants to make a connection with Annalise and capitalize on the attention she is getting from the princess from her performance and their striking physical similarities... Also, being forced to marry a stranger is not an enviable life situation even if she is rich.

    @ALo-lo@ALo-lo Жыл бұрын
    • Yes!! They weren’t comparing their life situations but rather their identities. I also don’t think it’s completely fair to be too harsh on Annalise, sure she has amazing luxuries and privilege beyond belief but she’s completely powerless in her position as a princess. She has little actual authority in her political role and essentially none over her life. She even acknowledges this in the song ‘Free’ with “you’d think that I’m so lucky that I have so many things, I’m realizing that every present comes with strings”, sure the gifts are lovely but at the end of the day they’re (most likely) disingenuous tactics for political advancements; the more you give someone and treat them well the more obligated they feel to return the favor. This isn’t to say that her life is a hard as Erica’s because it’s not but to say she can’t complain or express her distress because of who she is doesn’t feel right. I would also like to defend the ending of the movie as well as critique it. I think how Erica’s story ends is great, the creators didn’t undo her ‘not ending up with the guy’ setup because in their conversation she doesn’t just straight up reject him and pick singing instead, she basically says she wants to pursue her dreams asap since she finally has the ability to and doing that while married isn’t an option in her mind. Dereck understands this and says he’ll wait for her once she’s fulfilled this dream, and she does, she goes to sing for a decent amount of time if I’m not mistaken but eventually misses him, and again now that she finally has the ability to follow her just follow her heart and do what she wants, she does back. The only thing I don’t like about Erica’s ending is the concept that you see in a LOT of media is that you have to sacrifice independence/freedom for love and vice versa, it makes love to be a responsibility which it shouldn’t be. For Annalise’s ending, I know her main thing was to be with Julian but it would’ve been nice to see them lean into her passion for science and show she gets to do something related to that. I know it’d be a bit difficult seeing as even today women aren’t fully welcome into STEM spaces, but at the end of the day it’s a movie for young girls so I think they could sacrifice some historical accuracy for the sake of giving girls a STEM role model. I mean how cool would it be when to learn that she gets to be a princess AND a scientist, young me would’ve gone feral for something like that.

    • @@jits8767 it’s kind of silly though isn’t it? These films really don’t lend themselves to that kind of deep reading lol they can be enjoyable clearly but there just isn’t that depth there. People will get so, so over defensive over someone lightly making fun of a movie they liked as a kid it’s crazy. Even when he said multiple times how much he liked it and how well done he thought it was! People can do what they like for fun and if that’s overanalysing barbie films then sure. But not everyone has that same determination to read deeply into what is basically just a well done kids’ film. And if you ARE gonna read into it deeply, well then… as someone from a country that does still have a monarchy, and I wish it didn’t, I also don’t love the message of ‘royals have it hard too kids! They’re just like us really!’ People make the exact same arguments about royals living under all these constraints to defend them and the ungodly amount of money and land they hoard, over here. And it sucks! So you can’t have it both ways, can’t say oh these movies are deeper than you think actually! And also reject criticism of them you don’t like, made on that same premise.
