Man, if your wish becomes reality, as a Markiplier and fnaf fan I feel like this would make me so happy! It would also kind of settle how the fnaf management really cares about the community and is more than so willing to give us fanservice due to knowing how passionate we are about it, at least imo

    • that was something that slightly bugged me in the theater, the deliverey of the line didn't quite have the same power and confidence as the line in the game. In the game, it's delivered with such power and authority, it's not a hope or promise, it's FACT, William Afton ALWAYS comes back. The delivery in the movie, however, actually serves to humanize Afton, there's fear in his voice, he's in pain, he knows he's running out of time. It's not the confidence of the game version, because while Afton clearly knows more about ghosts and possession than his game counterpart, he wasn't exactly eager to test it for himself. It genuinely is a hope, hoping he comes back just like the ones he killed.

  • Dear Matpat, I just wanted to let you know, that when I went to see the FNAF movie, the second you walked on screen the whole theater started scream-cheering, calmed down to hear you talk, and started up again when you said your famous line. there was no other time in the entire film that the theater cheered so loud. all-in-all, thank you for all that you've done with the FNAF series and how much you were able to bring people into this amazing (yet slightly terrifying) world. Thank you! P.S. I am now 100% going to get the fuzzy withered Freddy jacket

I noticed, by listening to the soundtrack on that specific part of the credits, that the vocalizing kids in the background are making the same "airplane flying" noises that Garrett was before he was taken. If you listen to it, you'll here it randomly in the song. I love Scott's puzzles.

What's the point of your personal attack, did you feel alluded by the comment perhaps? On a side note, if we measure a film's success by the amount of happiness, engagement, etc it brings to viewers, and if viewers are as clueless as you purport the previous commenter to be, then it stands to reason the average viewer won't value what expert critics believe to be important for a movie and, in return, this validates the opinion of the original commenter. For a movie to succeed, it must be tailored for the viewers and fans, not the critics, even if that makes it artistically inferior, it will be superior with regards to its entertainment value, the reason most movies exist in the first place, this particular one included.

  • To be honest, despite never having read the books, I never questioned why the drawing worked. That felt totally plausible within the context of a ghost story. Compare it to the kinds of solutions there are to supernatural creatures in folk stories: A sleep demon can't get you if you get into bed backwards If a spirit sneaks in through your keyhole, covering the keyhole will make it unable to find its way out (not because it can't get past the cover, because it literally can't find the keyhole) Vampires can't enter a home unless invited. In that context, 'ghost children believe drawings because drawings are important parts of how kids communicate' feels totally at home

They said this place has been closed down for years but still needs a night guard and in the movie Micheal has a modern cell phone (usually in movies set in the past they use old phones). So what this could mean for the games is Micheal dosent go to the restaurants until way later in the story like present day or even the future

    @Zoeythedog22@Zoeythedog224 ай бұрын
  • My current theory about the FNAF movie (ignoring the blatant inconsistencies between movie and games) is that the movies are a prequel to the games. Mike Schmit was an actual person and everything happened as in the movie did, ad it all happened BEFORE the first FNAF game. That's why the kitchen camera works in the movie but doesn't in the games. It broke and the animatronics are keeping it broken since that's where Afton is. The temp company is still hiring people for the job because it continues to be open, as Afton is unable to stop anything. Michael Afton is still himself and takes the fake name of "Mike Schmit" because it was easier to get a job there as a previous employee. The real Mike Schmit tries to get Vanessa psychological help and that ties into VR. He decided to stay out of the Afton drama because he wants to help his sister and also the spirits move on, which means they can too, and he learns to value the present rather than linger on the past the way he does in the movie. Does it make sense? Only vaguely. But hey I like it.

  • While watching the movie I noticed 3 scenes that were oddly similar to scenes in the silver eyes. First was in the intro, the last child that was taken was wearing a blue shirt and stood there with "the yellow rabbit" to his left, before being taken away. This lines up to the flashback that John has, when he tried to recall how Michael (The blue shirted child) was taken. The second was when Abby was being chased by foxy, she went and hid behind the pinball and arcade machines where foxy almost got to her, but she jumped in the ball pit, and Mike tazed Foxy right before he got her. Where in the book, charlie went and hid behind some arcade machines while foxy came and destroyed the machines while trying to move them to get to her, but John drop kicked Foxy out of the way. The last scene came shortly after in both the book and the movie (10 pages, and about 10 minutes later) when after the spring lock scene, Afton gets dragged off (Foxy dragging him with his hook in a hole I his suit in the movie, and Freddy dragging him by the arm in the book) into a dark hallway while (Mike in the movie and John in the book) "carries" (Vanessa in the movie and Charlie in the book) out of the pizzeria.

  • I'm so glad Mat thought of a reason why Garrett's fate was never brought up. It was strange how the ghost kids knew about him, even though he was killed in a completely separate incident. That, and the fact that Garrett was kidnapped during a vacation in another state, and his kidnapper happened to live in the same town as the Schmidts. This coincidence really bothered me. But if William targeted Garrett because of a family dispute, then it wasn't a coincidence. But this theory raises a question: if Mike's dad really is supposed to be Henry, then why did Mike know so little about Freddy's? You'd think he would've met the animatronics that his father built. And he never even heard about the Missing Children's Incident. I hope the second movie offers an explanation for that.

    • In the games it was clearly shown to be the childish antics of a mean older brother messing with his little brother turning into an unexpected mistake that affected him the rest of his life. They could easily turn that into a redemption story for Mike over the course of multiple movies as he begins to forgive himself and attempt to right his and his fathers wrongs.

The studio would have know that the FNaF movie would never have substantial general appeal, and toning down the story to try and get a wider audience would simply alienate the fans. Leaving a movie with little general appeal and little fan appeal.

If they were doing the latter, that means they're angry at Scott and Co. and want to tell them how to write their fiction. Now that I think about it, that's about 85% of all fandoms these days. If and when my fiction is published, nobody is telling me how and what to write, unless it's a good and legitimate criticism.

    • I think it might imply things that might be canon in the games but we should be careful about drawing anything too one-on-one. I think Vanessa's fear of her father and being his reluctant follower could possibly be parallels to Michael Afton working under William up until Sister Location ("I found her, she was right where you said she would be") BUT I don't think it necessarily means that game!Vanessa is William's daughter or an Afton in general (even tho AR and SB has some weird hints to that).
