There is no men only tournament. It has nothing to do with misogeny. Since way more men are interested in chess it may be pretty tough mentally for women to get into sport with so many men. Women's chess community is tiny. It's nice to have chess tournaments just for women to promote chess among them.

      @sxanep@sxanep Жыл бұрын
    • @@sxanep i personally think the concept of female only titles is too condescending. Only works as promotion for women until they learn what these titles are really about, and if you wanna see the best players, male or female, you have to look at those that have the grown-up titles without the W on them. If anything, they may have the opposite effect and be somewhat discouraging

  • Anna - you are such a sweet person. Thank you for being kind to your lesser-skilled opponents. You had her beat by the 4th move and she didn't even have a clue. The fact that you gave her so many opportunities to defend and constantly overlooked them shows your true personality. Consider yourself admired by an old guy that has been playing casually since the early 1960's. Blessings to you, Anna from a boomer in Tennessee...

  • I was a tournament player many years ago, but I quit in favor of grad school. I can't begin to say how gratifying it is to see so many talented women playing now. What does surprise me, though, is the across the board chat, especially from some of the men Anna plays! The script hasn't changed in half a century.

  • That was such a cute video. Anna was so nice, and those people really nice too. It looked like they were all having a good time. Just a really positive vibe overall. She has a very cute and friendly personality, and the other people did too. I honestly wish more people were like that. Anna didn't go easy on her, but I think she could have played more aggressively if she was trying to win as fast as she could knowing her opponents strength, but she treated it like any other game and was trying to have fun too, which is good. I really liked the video though.
