Some continuations require deeper study - “theoretical” in this sense means deeply studied. She’s worried that he is playing a continuation she is unfamiliar with. 👍

    • OTB has a psychological element that’s missing in online games. Even though she was smiling, she seemed quite intimidated sitting across from Carlsen. He even took the time to encourage her not to be. Point being, when you’re stressed, your mind wastes processing cycles on unproductive things that distract you from the task at hand… and you miss things that you normally wouldn’t.

    • That's not what happened at 3:27. Magnus had just blundered. If you look at the eval bar, it was the only time she actually had the upper hand, and if played the rest of the game with accuracy could've beaten Magnus.
