Started at the drains on a rainy day and only come away with a lil baz. Tried our luck around the Island, Pallarenda, Middle reef and the mouth of the ross. Not much happened this trip sadly :(

  • Takes me back a bit. Lived up in Townsville back in 96/7. Down in Eyre St near the Strand, across from the old hospital. Fished all the drains around town and the mangrove swamps below Oonoomba, across from South Townsville (the sand fly memories still cause me to shudder!). Nice barra, a bit of fun for the lads. I miss cast netting for mullies and prawns. Sharks and catties LOL. Try landing a good mac, you will find the sharks. We used to get 3 or 4 fish in before the crew turned up for a feed. TBF, the Remora could be a lot of fun on light gear. Great video mate. Looked like a fun day out with the boys.

    • For the lakes drains on woolcock St any tide as long as its not heat of the day so morning & evenings. For the other drains when the gate closes on a high of around 2.5m is good 👍 big tides aren't great like a 3m
