I don't care what anyone says, the 80's will always be one of the best decades for music in the history of mankind.

Music, films, culture in general. There's a reason so much of today's style and pop culture is 80's inspired. It's because that's when civilisation peaked and it's all been downhill since then.

@@chrishateley5582 Lol 80s movies are the worst. That's when they started to aim movies more and more towards a specific audience. 70's is without contest the best decade for movies. Not saying I don't like 80's movies, but you like them because they are bad

The mid 90's is when music died. The overabundance of manufactured boy and girl groups destroyed pop music by saturating the market with soulless, same-sounding drivel marketed towards the lowest common denominator. Pop stars ceased to be artists and became nothing more than shiny faces to put on the CD covers with no creative input whatsoever. If the biggest pop stars of the late 90s had never been born we'd still have their exact same songs just sung by different people.

No young person is going to remember this movie, despite it being a true 80's classic, because we were too young. Hell I was born in 94 and I can barely remember the late 2000s. American Dad gives us a good throwback to inspire interest in these 80's movies anyway. I'd think most of the people that remember that time would be happy we're interested in it too. Besides that sequence from American Dad is priceless.

@@thewaywelive2775 Awesome, well thanks for telling me my reason for liking something. You must be psychic.
Definitely original! Great times in my opinion
@@chrishateley5582 right on
American dad anyone?
+MrStockmyster yep AD all the way
+MrStockmyster NO, what series is it on though, i love American Dad
yep A M lol.
yup just watched it and I was like this song is turnt ass fuck
+ciara smith check out the movie back to school, it's a classic comedy.
Absolutely love this song after hearing it on American Dad. Quickly became one of my favourites
that was such a funny episode 😂
Yeah, i'm coming from that episode. It takes some time to found the song
Original theme songs like this are sorely missed in cinema today.
Couldn't agree more
Best statement on here!
I couldn't agree more!! I came here just to look for this song! It reminds me of that last bit of summer weather while riding your bike back to school! Nostalgic moments
This song just brings me back to that long labor day weekend , then going back to school. And enjoying the last bit of summer weather
AMEN. Theres alot of songs produced for movies that are great. I guess someone figured theres little to no commercial value for most of them.
Crazy how many people came here because of the American Dad episode ! Look below at all of the comments ! Thank you Seth McFarlane ! So glad he's an 80's geek !
section8usmc53 lol did you just see it too? how long did it take you to find the song?
40mIKe04 about 10 seconds. Was on adult swim !
section8usmc53 yea i watched the episode probably at the same time as you but it took me a while to find the song.
40mIKe04 As soon as I heard "back to school" I knew exactly what it was. Just searched "back to school song" and it was the first one. Damn I miss the 80's. :-(
section8usmc53 it was a new song to me. i searched a section of the lyrics which didn't work so i started researching the episode until i found it lol.
Rodney Dangerfield. Irreplaceable & Cannot Be Copied. A great character.
Owen Fitzgerald loved him in Easy Money and Ladybugs.
Hear, hear.
Duh he's a god damn legend.
Dangerfield had no clue how funny he was. On the set of caddy shack he told Chevy chase he was bombing cause nobody laughed Chevy looked at him and said Rod they cant it's a closed set every one is leaving they cant stop laughing weve shot this seen 5 times because even the director cant hold it
no respect he get's no respect
Back to School brought me here. Classic movie.
"Stan smith - longest man-on-man high school sports embrace "
He broke the record formerly held by the baseball coach.
"That's ok records are made to be broken"
scared look on my face
THUMBS UP FOR THEM NOT MAKING A REMAKE OF THIS CLASSIC MOVIE!
"I rented this car earlier and it's pulling to the right.."
"I ALREADY TOLD HIM NO GARY."
Dylan Watson haha stan you don't need to attend high school
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
AMERICAN DAD 😂
😂👌🏻
Seth MacFarland's use of this song last Sunday is yet another example of how to use 80's nostalgia. It doesn't always have to be a shitty remake.
Stan?!, you don't have to come to class just show up for the match
The other Fifty one but i rent a beetle :'(
. _.
2023. Not seen this film for many years & i have just watched this clasic. It is still good today, as it was many yrs ago.
I got to meet Billy Zabka this year at a convention. Got a picture of Chas signed with the quote “SCREW YOU, MELON!!” I love it so much. And he was so cool.
I actually feel bad for people who didn't grow up in the 80's...missed a great time with great songs and great movies!
No we didnt we can watch them or listen to them whenever we want its called living in the 21st century.
I was born during the filming if that helps! And I have a thing for 80s culture
I grew up in the 80’s! Was born in exactly 1980!
@@omarmartinez3950 it’s not the same. We live in the digital era now. Back in the 80’s/90’s you had to go to blockbuster if you wanted a film. You couldn’t just put netflix on. The 80’s just felt different. World is colder now.
Yea but being in 89 meant I can enjoy looking at those things and see a little more of this failing planet develop more lol
as an 80's kid, this song always makes me feel better and less stressed out.
80s kid myself..... time was so great to live ....... Rodney Dangerfield..... was a great comedian.....love the movie....(back to school)..... Thornton melon best line in the movie.........if you want to look thin...you hang out with fat people........I think I will watch that movie today......
9494 1869 did you ever look at a menu and say ok? When you jog do you leave potholes? When you make love do you have to give directions?
i agree
It's the nostalgia that comforts you...the feeling of being a kid again and not having a care in the world..
“Mr. Melon your wife was just showing us her Klimpt.”
She shows it to everybody
Thorton! I want a divorce!
LOL!!!
She's showin it 2 everybody!!!
She's very proud of it. Hey I'm proud of mine too but I don't go wavin it around at parties
Dear 1980's I miss you.
i miss it so much
Thank God I lived through the second half of the eighties.
Back To School with Rodney Dangerfield....one of the BEST movies of the 80s. And yes it was in an episode of American Dad.
this film is my Coming to America Don't get me wrong that film is fine and i knew how special it was, but if you ask me which film i think had much better humor, writing, and characters it was Back to School
lets hijack a time machine and go back to the 1980's shall we
www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/delorean/dmc-12 here's a shitload of DMC-12s, take your pick :)
can we also return to the 90's when women were normal and not the deranged nut bags we have today
Rolling Redneck, you mean before they had cell phones and wanted you to attend to them 24/7 ?
don't forget the 1950 - 2000 sports alhmanac
I'm in!!!
1980s were the best at everything.
it was i strongly agree
the 80's were the best. They had some of the best movies and best music. I was born in 84. But i can still appreciate the 80's.
I was born in 80, but I feel like an 80's and 90's kid!
I graduated high school in 1984. Perfect timing for the fun!
Just saw this Movie Back to School(1986) again today, such a Classic, love this song too by the way so awesome 🤘🏻🤟🏻 4/29/2024
the 1980's and 90's will always have the best music
I'd have to say the 70s I wish I was alive then to witness it all
And the best tv too!
Meaning the 80s and 90s. Also the 70s. I loved the incredible hulk!
60s 70s 80s 90s*
The mid 90's is when music died. The overabundance of manufactured boy and girl groups destroyed pop music by saturating the market with soulless, same-sounding drivel marketed towards the lowest common denominator. Pop stars ceased to be artists and became nothing more than shiny faces to put on the CD covers with no creative input whatsoever. If the biggest pop stars of the late 90s had never been born we'd still have their exact same songs just sung by different people.
Back to School brought me here! (smfh)
This movie is the best of the 80s
I was 26 when I went back to university. This was stuck in my head my whole first day!
American Dad sent me here!
As it did me
Me too one the funniest moments in adult cartoon history lol
I may have been born 2001 but man i wish i could visit the 80s!!
It was fun. Kids these days are a friggin' joke. lol
i was born in 1990. i JUST missed it :(
Hermit FUCKIN SAME
It was really the best of times. Born in '75. So glad I grew up in the 80's. The only things I ever really worried about was girls (OMG the girls !) and global thermal nuclear war. LOL
Oh, and the music was friggin spectacular. Pop. Rock. Metal. So many metal bands, and every one of them could play. No name bands. Go grab something at the music store you never heard on the radio and it was almost always great. Soundtracks were epic.
Every 80’s movie had to have its song.. this is one of my favorites.
That moment u realize that ur old school lets u return to the wrestling team only to find out u dont actually have to attend academics.
really?? you didn't know I had powerful legs??
Dak Lamerbusch Roger is pretty damn sexy for a alien. What was the persona he used when Stan remarried Francine

Not I
Great song!!!! American Dad brought me here after seeing it played on an episode 👍👍👍
To each their own. I was born in 91 and the most vivid memories of my childhood are from 98-02
***** I'm glad you agree.
I remember it I was born in 1986. My father was a Rodney Dangerfield fan as I am as well. The psycho history teacher is one of the best scenes in film.
blah bliff I was born in 85 (since everyone replying to your comment seems bound to post their age) and I havent't heard this song until American Dad. And I fucking LOVE IT!!!
MyFavoriteDisease I probably posted this to the wrong person. Blame it on the beer.
If you didn’t see this movie yet, you are missing an 80s gem from one of our best comedians in history. “No respect I’ll tell ya”!
Jude Cole had his hand a number of great 80's soundtracks. This is one of my favorites. The other would be "Out On The Edge" from the movie Heavenly Kid. Another killer track by him!
Yes! Good call. I’m 43 and reading this 10 years after you posted it.
80s were the BEST. PERIOD.
RIP Rodney Dangerfield
Greatest movie from a real comedy genius
Is everyone ready to go back to school on 2023
BACK TO SCHOOL FUCK YEAH!!!! BORN IN 1985,.... EHH CLOSE ENOUGH FOR ME!!!!!! 80'S WERE THE BEST!!!!!!
BORN IN 1985 , COOL! SAME YEAR THIS SONG & MOVIE WAS MADE!
Nothing beats 80's comedies, they were silly but alot of fun. Going to the movies was a blast back then. This movie rocked and so many others. Comedies the past 10 years or so are too cliche today and dont have the same charm.
Found this song because I'm a 80s kid and it was a part of me
BRENDAJASON1 I’m an 80’s kid too and I’m gonna have to watch American Dad now haha

This should have been released as a single playing on the radio when this movie came out!

I'll admit that american dad brought me back here. But i've been here numerous times before that episode aired. If you've never seen back to school then you should be ashamed of yourself. Classic movie.

i was born in '76 and loved the 80s! music was at its greatest lots of artists making MUSIC, not like whats being put out now. oh yeah can never forget the big hair bands.. haha.. thanks to those artists who made my childhood growing up richer in music! Oh id love to get this soundtrack as well LOTS of great songs on it! I have the DVD as well and it gets better and better with lots of laughs!
