Long time subscriber, first time poster! I’m a Veteran, an outdoor enthusiast and a want to be Camp Cook! Your approach to life, cooking and appreciation of the USA has me hooked! Thanks for all you do to spread kindness, goodwill and great cooking knowledge to all! You are an inspiration!
A sincere thank you for your service and sacrifice sir!!! I saw this on a truck window.... "If you don't want to stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them"..…... Very true words!
I actually never knew the concept of a steak being marble until I watched this video. Very informative. I needed that and enjoyed the lesson. Thank you Mr. Kent, now I know what I'm looking for when I buy a steak.
You can only flip a steak once "Who says?" Amen my brother.
“The biggest mistake you can make while flipping is flipping where the Beagle can get to it “❤️you stole my heart Sir. Thanks for the tips
Salam from a Muslim fan of yours. You are a good human and for sure know how to put a smile on others faces. God bless brother
I know this video is 2 years old, but I just wanted to say that I tried this and it is literally the best steak I've ever grilled in my life! The lime juice makes all the difference. I just used cheap $4/lb Chuck Eye steak on a gas grill, nothing fancy. Simply amazing results! Thank you Kent!!! Insta-subscriber here. Can't wait to try your other recommendations.
Kent, You never fail to get me to laugh. I have been living out of cans ever since my wife passed but you have convinced me that I might be able to have a good steak for a change. Wish me luck, I'm off to market. Thanks for the good times.

To be 100% honest, I clicked this video in particular because the man looked like he knew what he was doing
Thanks Neil
He certainly does, I have learned more from this man about grilling and cast iron cooking in the past couple months than I learned in the past 50 years.
Id trust this guy over ramsey anyday.
Oh he does
He does Neal.he's help me alot on cooking
I'm 61 years old and been cooking a long time but I always learn a ton watching your videos! Thanks so much!
I'm hosting a steak fry this week and will be grilling some US Prime NY Strips. I'm very happy I came across your KZhead channel, Kent, because I've never been able to grill a steak the proper way. Now I can't wait to put your lessons to practice. I feel confident I'm going to surprise my guests!! Thanks again Kent!
You're the Texas Uncle I always wanted but never had.

Cowboy Kent Rollins I was born an Okie too (Fort Sill), but I claim San Antonio TX as my 2nd (military) home. I couldn’t agree more, your definitely everyone’s cool cowboy uncle
I'm Nigel from Australia and I just about had a heart attack at 11:10
That's hilarious
Wow that's insane. Didn't understand your comment til the end lol.
Why lol
You are blessed to have Kent send a shout out to you!
Hilarious!
I didn't grow up with my dad so I never really never learned how to cook a steak. Thank you this has been wonderful.
Me either, but my children won't have that handicap, my hand to God
Your Dads biggest loss if it was voluntary.
I absolutely love how you used the "fist reference" to how done it is. Your videos while I've had a few different things I've known I've learned. Especially with beef... kinda the harder meat to learn depending on grade of meat and also temp of the grill. I sorta learned the hard way. But your videos taught me a lot more than I knew before.
Really appreciate defining marbling! No one else went into as much detail and I actually learned what marbling is.
Glad to help and Thank you for watching
Oh Kent, I wish we could meet. I’m in SE Oklahoma from the town where Lane Frost was from. I cook many southern dishes that bring my grandma back to my world for a little bit. I appreciate your demeanor, sentimental spirt & love for your wife & God.
Thanks Valerie so much
Valerie, I've worked all over SE Oklahoma including the little town of Atocka where I went to church with Clyde and Elsie in a small community called Lane. They're great folks and so was everyone else. My kind of country. I live in Tennessee.
Valerie .I agree I from Buffalo valley east of Sardis lake.
I’ve been grillin for a month or two, and just cooked steaks for Sunday football for my friends and I have to say, your videos have helped so much! If I need a new recipe, you’re the first page I go to. Love it Ken, keep it up🙌🏼
Thank you for the grilling lesson. It’s been a hit/miss when I grill & I never knew why. Appreciate you & Shannon. ♥️♥️
Im a simple man, I see steak and I click the Like button.
Got a raw steak Yonder Frankie.
Tried it loved it got back to grilling again!! Delious!
Me too!
Yep
Well said.
I was a vegan but now I'm saved👏
Lol
Was lost but now you taste .
Nothing is as good in taste as a great steak.
There’s nothing wrong with veganism. It’s just a luxury item. Like saying “ I only eat free range...
@@jeffforbess6802 there's plenty wrong with vegan. Have you seen what it takes to actually be a true vegan? It's horrible for the environment because you have to kill off all the nutrients in a field to make sure only your plant source is there. That's true vegan. Research is key.
Appreciate the pearls you are giving out Ken👍 Just cooked a Prime Rib tonight with your butter rub from your vid for my nieces birthday and it came out absolutely fantastic!! Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing all the things you have learned over the years cooking, it is greatly appreciated!!
Thank you for this. I'm working at taking my grilling skills up a few notches and this is the way! I love the hand thing about how to judge the doneness! Thank you!
"You cant flip it but once... Who said?" .....Damn right
Yo Bob in reverse, it’s not 4 flips it’s slap it on the grill, half turn, then flip, and then another half turn just before you plate that motherlovin deliciousness.
True! What do I know I just grill for my family and group gatherings, I just never see the point in flipping when all you do is lose the beef butter when flipping. But to each his own. Keep on keepin on.
Love it good information
My husband and I had steak with curly fries and buttery broccoli for supper tonight using this method, except we only had it tenderizing with lime juice for 2 hours. Maybe I've been to crappy steakhouses, but I swear this is the most beautiful steak I've ever had. Its so soft and scrumptious ahhhhhhhhh! Thank you, Mr!
So glad y'all enjoyed
What I look forward to as always is the great advise about cooking and grilling, your shout out the our military but your happy dance is my favorite! Thank you for being you and doing what your doing much love from Colorado.
Kent, thank you for your videos! I'm a huge fan and I'm trying to change my approach to cooking! Thank you for the insight and advice. Its already helped a ton.
I appreciate you explaining the difference in steaks at the beginning of the video. I’ve heard the terms before but wasn’t sure what they meant. Thank you Rollins
Glad to help Steven and Thanks for watching
Dude, this video is gold. Learned allot. I actually watched this and immediately went to target and bought a grill. Grilled me some steaks after putting it together. They were perfection... followed this to a t.
Thank you for watching Matthew
Thanks for watching
@CowboyKentRollins I'm back at it again with this technique. Your the man brotha
Thank you so much! It’s been a long time since I grilled on charcoal and I stumbled upon your video when trying to refresh my memory….and I learned so much!! Great video!
Kent, you and my Dad makes it so easy to cook a good looking and tasting steak. I like the method you use to determine how its cooked. Thanks I have learned a lot.
I've been messing around with steaks for 20 years and this guy is correct on all his tips
Hey there Kent, really learning a lot from your videos. Followed your instructions to the letter and grilled 2 new york steaks (couldn’t quite afford that ribeye). They came out juicy, perfect medium rare. My wife was delighted. And you know what they say: happy wife, happy life. Thank you Sir!
Glad yall enjoyed
I caught your videos late, but I'm glad I found you. You make me feels like I'm back home. Mid-Texas Expat in Germany.
That looks real good! I make mine a little different but everything you said about the temperature, resting the steak and the grade of meat was spot on.
😟☹ OH MAN, Frank ate my sample of the perfectly grilled steak, lol. My, my, I'll bet that tasted scrumptious. Frank, I'll let it pass this time, you lucky ol' hound doggy. Hey there Kent and Shannon, another great video ya'll have here. My wife and I are celebrating our 46th Anniversary over here on the Left Coast of California in the city of Monterey. We've enjoyed some fabulous seafood, locally caught. But, that Ribeye has my mouth watering. We were sitting at the small table in our motel room when I started this video. My wife just about fell out of her chair when you said you were giving Frank my sample bite. Not so much that Frank got the bite but that you mentioned my name. Yep, 46 years of marriage and then two days later was my wife's ??th B-day. A double celebration. Going to buy a couple of those Ribeyes and grill them per your directions. Thanks Shay and Kent for another great video to add to my favorites. Blessings to you and yours. Stan
Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday to the wife, its always a pleasure to here from you
As a Yorkshireman who thought he knew everything to do with steak cooking, I’m giving you the ‘ Yorkshiremans Gold Award ‘ for that three finger check ! I only knew the one finger method . Brilliant !
I've known for many years that lime is used as a tenderizing agent for cooking meat in Mexican and Cuban cuisines. But it never occurred to me to use it for my grilled ribeyes and strips. Thanks for the tip, definitely gonna try this.
Kent, I have watched so many videos of yours over the past few years, especially how you treat/preserve a cast iron pot/pan. Well, I am from South-Africa and love your videos, your skills and the way you talk!! Absolutely great and beautiful! The food you prepare are out of this world! Well done Kent! Cheers Boet!
My name is knigel from Brooklyn,ny thought you were talking to me. God bless you, hope the dog enjoyed the steak as much as I enjoyed the video.

I don't know how I've been on KZhead as long as I have, and never found this channel! Great food, great folks and a dog lover to boot! Thanks for doing what you do, Kent! I'm now a subscriber!
Thanks, not only for tips, but also for the good time. God bless you, from Northeast Tennessee.
I enjoy your channel. Thank you for all the great recipes
That was great, thank you. We grill year round even when it’s -30f. 👍👍
Thanks for explaining marbling in steaks.
Hey Kent-Loved the kindness to the doggies!!! I’ve never feared grilling a steak, but definitely picked up a few good pointers especially about marbling & the lime juice. I’ll have to try that. Thanks
I love the "finger touch" explanation. I've seen others use it, but this is the first time I've seem someone describe the difference between rare, medium, etc..
HA! I been grilling steaks my whole life always with the mission of the perfect one, and just never seem to get to that heavenly level i'm wanting, even though the recipient is usually happy. I'm glad I came across this video (originally looking at different recipes for bacon wrapped tater-tots that I thought me and my girlfriend invented-haha) and now hooked! As a 5 decade lover of the grill, it is a treat to learn new things. Appreciate the video and Thanks for sharing!!
I’m so glad I found this channel it’s 100x better than other people that butcher their steaks ❤️
Thank you for sharing your expertise with us and squashing all the myths about how to grill a steak. I will pray for your continued success.
Kent the PROBLEM watching you is it flings a hungry on me something fierce no matter if I’m hungry or not. God bless and keep them coming back for more.
Perfect steak, huge Texas baked potato, 1/4 - 1/2 cup of butter smothered across both, and a cold beverage of choice. Now that is a meal
Don't forget your veggies
Simple humble life on a ranch. Shieee I'd love to visit.
Thank you Kent, love your videos and always learning something new from you. I always have the issue with the juices ending up all over the plate and my girlfriend always gets grossed out thinking it is all the blood from the steak and now by watching what you just did hopefully will help me from that happening and having to put her steak back on the grill until it is well, well done with no flavor left. Thank you Kent!
So glad to find your channel! I caught your win on Chopped & was rooting for you as Grill Master. I love a good steak & just ordered a grill so I’ll be watching your channel to learn what to do. Thanks!
Tried this method last night. Excellent! Family is still talking about it. (As an aside, if you ever need assistance with Social Security questions, that’s what I’m good at. Be happy to help.)

Thanks Cyndi and we hope you enjoy
God bless you too! ❤️much love for taking the time to do these videos Mr. Kent
If you're grilling steaks for a group, and they ask for a medium-well, or well done, the proper thing to do is ask them, politely, but firmly, to leave.
Hey! I like my prime Ribeye well done. Not burnt but done. With ketchup as well.
nothing wrong with how people enjoy their steak
Tommy9834 guess I won’t come then cuz I don’t like to eat blood - to each his own brother
Yup. When the steer stopped mooing it was already half cooked.
Kent wouldn't do that to someone, so neither should you.
That was the first time I've heard of that method for judging how done the steak is. I will have to remember that. Thanks for the advice.
Glad to help
Thank you so much for this video. My husband just bought some beautiful really expensive rib eyes and I dont want to ruin the precious meat. I really want him to be happy and this helps me so very much. You guys are fabulous and I always enjoy your videos. Take good care

Thank you for insights Kent. I'm binge watching you tonight, lol! 😂
Hey Kent, Where have you been all my life? Found your channel about 3 months ago.
