@@jonathanmora8208 correct. He beat him in a fight. He didn't beat him in Muay Thai. MMA is as close to a real fight as you can get. In a real fight Rodtang might land a lucky shot and knock him out. However if he doesn't, Mighty Mouse is always taking that back and choking him out.

Rodtang and Superlek have been sparring partners back in the day. This is gonna be super interesting since both of them are familiar with each other's styles.
They were never sparring partners. Completely different gyms. Wife is sponsored by yokkao and so is superlek

it's crazy to see how willing Rodtang is to engage w/ anyone - he's perfectly fine standing and relying on that iron chin. insane thing to watch.
I hope Rodtang does eventually step up to Haggerty’s preferred weight before he leaves ONE, they’re a great matchup. So ferocious yet so respectful of each other both in and outside the ring. I’d love to see more clinch work in ONE, I understand why they limit it but I’ve been watching MT since the mid 90’s and it’s a crucial test of a MT fighter. Rodtang can clinch at the elite level but can Haggerty, I’d love to see it.

I saw Haggerty fight in Koh Samui many years ago against Thai's and he had no issues with the clinch. In fact, the fight ended with an elbow KO from Haggerty as they separated from a clinch. Still not sure that he beats Rodtang though unfortunately.

@@golden166 well, if you want to be the best in the world, the only place to train is Thailand! I'm an MMA fan these days, and all the best MMA strikers still train at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket. Thailand is truly the kingdom of combat sports.
@@GemTWood actually you get plenty of decent up and coming fighters as well as legends like Saenchai (against no hopers), as well as decent Westerners. Take it from someone who lived in Thailand and visited the old Lumpinee stadium many times, the standard at Koh Samui and the other regional stadiums is decent. No worse than York Hall is to boxing.
I love Rodtang so much as a fighter and a person. Ruthlessly vicious in the ring and entirely humble after the last bell rings. Consummate martial artist

Rodtang and Buakaw are the absolute goats of Muay Thai.

On most all time top 10 lists, Buakaw is ranked only 10th, with 9 ranked higher and Rodtang is nowhere near making the list. Rodtang would have to knock Buakaw off the list, to make the list, and that is very, very unlikely. I do wish him well in his efforts though.

I've been waiting for Rodtang Vs Haggerty 3. Jonathan Haggerty was training very hard for this match too. His build up was insane during this time. Even though he lost twice, Haggerty is still one of my favorites. Haggerty was a 22 year old champion until Rodtang took it.
haggerty beats them the next time they fight. he had less than 15 pro fights when they met. hes only gotten better and rodtangs style doesnt have much longevity in it.

Rodtang vs Haggarty 1 and 2 are of my favorites muay thai fights ever. I became a fan immediately after watching them the first time. Rodtang vs Superlek will be a very hard battle for both of them I believe. I can't see Rodtang win, if he allows Superlek free head kicks. Even with the iron mans chin...

Rodtang is a beast. Haggerty and Rodtangs fights were great to watch. Rodtang has challenged Haggerty for his new belt that he got from Nong O. Haggerty has one of the most savage elbows in One. Keeping him at kicking distance is the way to against him but then again, his teeps are also long and sharp.

Yeah we’ve barely seen an MMA fighter train with top Muay Thai fighters. They could really learn a lot. But i believe boxing is the best thing to perfect, as seen in muay thai, the boxers are beating the thai fighters.

Rodtang has eaten shots that would KO a heavy weight. I don't think he will fight differently and he's never given a reason to.

They have a bunch of tv deals in Asia and now with Prime in North America so they do charge for a lot of their viewers. Probably for the majority of the viewers even. From what I know One is doing pretty good financially despite having streaming everything for free. The fighters in One generally have really really good purses compared to UFC, Pride, PFL and so on. There are a few UFC fighters that makes a LOT of money, but the majority get seriously bad purses.
