Excellent, Excellent vid! Man, its amazing that just a few years ago, this kind of animation control was so much more convoluted and complex to do, to the point that layman artists would rather just stick with default animations and not even attempt anything more complex.. Now this is so easy, and especially thanks to vids like this and awesome folks like you and Sam to share this how-to info almost making it intuitive rather than difficult. Thank you!!!

Idk if anyones brought this up yet with unreal, but that it stops at like 118 frames and wont let you extend to 120? idk if its an issue with any body else
this video is great, only one thing is not clear to me, that is, when it edits the FK on Unreal.I did (on metahuman) "additive" but when I move does not do me anything and remains as before, that is clipping.Any suggestions?
so for us poors who still use R19 - is there an alternative to a character definition tag in C4D?
About the Rest pose, Its just to clear the rotation, press Alt R and Press Alt G.

The rokoko plugin won't install for me.. keeps giving me some error about line 212 and can't import updater_ops 😮💨
Hey guys, at 46:16, when he's editing the animation in Nonlinear Animation, how is he adding a keyframe after changing the pose? I seem to be missing a step here and can't figure it out... 🤔
If I had to guess he has assigned a shortcut, so the menu doesn't have to pop up everytime the 'i' key is pressed. Sam did mentioned he's using an industry-standard keyboard layout so maybe that could be it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Another approach is auto-keying (wasn't enabled during the stream) enabling this then makes it easy to NOT focus on inserting keys manually. A couple of downsides to auto-keying are 1) it adds a key on all transforms (L/R/S) leading to two main issues: Unnecessary extra key clutter, and it affects the interpolation of the keys. 2) It's easy to lose track and forget that auto-keying is active. I would say use auto keying one way on the timeline (e.g., for rough character animation) followed by a cleanup, (delete and adjust key interpolation) of unnecessary keys, after that disable auto-keying and from there manually edit/add keys. Hope that helps :)
Thanks for helping us out with this. The workspace is blurry and hard to read, even though your faces are crystal clear. Makes it a little hard for a beginner who doesn't know where everything is automatically.

Any ideas why the re-targeted armature would be slowly drifting away from the default armature?
I have the same issue. I don't know how to fix it ...
To match the pivot point on your new character, drag it under the Mannequinn character and zero out it's transformations and rotations. Then drag it out of that parenting into the world again, good to go!
I tried retargeting in blender and everything works correctly except the arms are crossed over even though they are mapped correctly. Anyone know how to fix this issue?

Was wondering the same thing. If you want my advice - Just Animate the character 1 frame backwards (to 0 or -1) and Do "animation / assume skin pose". This will give you the actual animated bones in a T pose frame. Then put your character on that T pose and add skin. Worked for me.
And to retarget metahumans?
