Win hardware from NVIDIA and PNY by entering the Expanding Machines giveaway by August 30th: www.pny.com/promo/professiona...
During the month of July, I challenged 3D artists to create their best 3D contraption, with the goal of getting a chrome ball from point A to point B in a set amount of time. Today on the livestream, @PeterFrance and myself will show off the Top 100 renders, and announce the winners of the Dynamic Machines render challenge. Top 3 U.S. artists will win awesome prizes from Nvidia and PNY, and the Top 3 international artists will win limited edition prints, and top-tier access to my Patreon for a full year.
Subscribe for the Top 100 render montage dropping next weekend, and the all renders montage dropping the weekend after that.

    • I also really like... but something to consider is the when the fan dude hits it, the ball becomes out of frames for a few seconds; so maybe that's where they also grade it as well....... however its very well done visually EDIT: looking back it wasn’t out of frame but the ball was definitely lacking behind and rush all the action at the end…. If the ball was on the umbrella just a second left it probably would had made it better…. And as others said (I didn’t know this was a Rube Goldberg contraption) this isn’t really a Rube Goldberg… very cool still though

After the first two challenge montages something sparked in me that forced me to download blender again. After finishing the donut (finally!) I dove straight in. I never expected to match anyones skill or experience. But I challenged myself to see it through and I just barely managed to make the deadline. Now I'm looking starting to build a demo reel to try and do this professionally down the line. Thank you for taking that leap and inspiring me!

  • I need the four hours compilation as a screensaver on my phone. I also wanted to commend both you, I've come to 'know' you guys as crazy talented people through the Corridor lens (emphasis on the talent.. and the crazy). But here I get to see a modest and professional side of you, that makes it clear why you do, what you do. It compliments your 'wilder personas'. You guys make me want to do this. Maybe I'll show up in the next challenge (probably not the top 100, though).

I've been obsessed with the look since the Lego movie and the amazing youtube short *Captain Yajima* that looks like a 60s stop motion but was done in blender! if you haven't seen Captain Yajima yet and you love 3d renders, its defo for you. From Windows 95 to Windows XP, but removed from Vista (11 years!) a nostalgic game and sound for most. A very nice little Easter egg incase you guys didn't catch it. Shoutout to all the participants!
