Off Grid LOG CABIN Build / Installing the WINDOWS changed Everything (S3 Ep11)

2021 ж. 19 Қар.

I installed the windows in the log cabin and the room changed completely with more light coming in. Also I had to do the window opening until there was warm weather to dry also the inside of the house. Before with only the door, air inside the first floor didn't move much and it was quite humid. The biggest problem I had was with the table stump I pulled in last winter, because it was still very wet inside and after a few months it started developing mold. Due to its size I can't simply move it in and out. Now with the windows in place it feels more like a house, not just a shelter.
Thank you for watching!

  • I truly believe you are showing us something I think that lot have forgotten the remarkable versatility of wood. Over here in the UK we have buildings that are hundreds of years old that were built with a cruck frame. I seem to recall visiting a house in Switzerland that is wooden and over seven hundred years old and as far as I’m aware it is still standing and this was back in the seventies (my dad was a builder of timber framed houses😂) thus the busman’s holiday. Your home is a work of art and will probably still be standing several hundred years from now if well maintained 😊

  • Nik Everything is coming together so nicely. It's hard to believe, even though I watched you, chop those trees down yourself and tow them to the empty lot where you skined them and put them in place. And my God that home made crane you built too. Except for a few hand power tools and that tractor and the occasional buddies to help you out... All I can say is thank you for taking me with you and your family on your adventure. We just don't have these kind of pioneers in America anymore. Well, maybe some but they are rare as hens teeth. If anyone deserves a lounge chair with built in massager it's you buddy. Cheers pal!

Whats in your head as you share with a lovely wife and great kids is beyond a explanation of. I watched the videos of you building stuff at home and hauling it to that mountain top so to have not wasted any time on your build. I always share these videos with others that come here to my place and their comments lead to a "Is this man real?" Yes I think superman fits you well Nik. For almost everyone, including myself, the personal pleasures day by day are just watch our football team win, win a computer game or prepare a good food. But this its another level, its the main reason to be proud of our own selfs, do your strong home by your own hands, this is soo much deeper tha just a guy vuilding something, its a guy ho remember us how its supost to be the personal goals to do in on our lives. Congrata dude for share with us this gigant pleasure.
